Really looked the like of that guy (Phillips) , big unit with good feet , think he'll go far
Massively improved player under Bielsa's management
I've received some stick for claiming Phillips will play for England one day

He's a wide midfielder/ winger normally. Used to play for Brentford and he always looked a very attacking player whenever I saw him. It would be like us playing Rothwell at FB.
I seem to recall Dallas scoring in our 2-1 victory at Ewood Park in an evening match the season you were relegated

68% of possession. That is astonishing, especially away from home But only 20 shots to our 18.
Both teams had 6 shots on target.
Conclusion----you had the ball but not where it counted.
By the way you were way ahead on fouls committed but I can't remember the figure.
Possession has been higher than that in the majority of our games
Main point is the scoreline as you say

Leeds knocked it about well at times and the equalizer was quality it's usually handy to score near HT but probably not for them as they didn't have time to make it count. Trick to their style is to turn the whole team into a well oiled machine to allow that kind of football back to front then defend from front to back without the ball. Wagner managed it at Hudds but it takes time to implement, I think they'll be thereabouts in the top 6 come May though.
Big victory for us and the counter attacking style which serves us well away did ok at home as it's suited to the better sides but it was really good to see us making something of set pieces whilst defending them well at the other end. If we'd held on v Villa that would've been a few big scalps already plus a nice local victory so it's shaping up to be a good season.
Its been enjoyable so far !
We do knock it about well Tom but we were nowhere near our usual fluent selves yesterday due to the unbalance of our team & massive credit to Rovers who pressed us well & stopped us winning 50/50 balls. Our goal was special, I counted 13 passes from the back before Klich tucked it away, couldn't see it coming tbh
You have a decent side there who could go on to surprise several teams, no reason why you shouldn't be looking at a top six finish as the championship is wide open this season

Where are Leeds centre forwards? Decent in midfield but no focal point in attack. Saiz (great player) kept getting on the ball and there were no options. Was speaking to the Leeds fan sat with us and he mentioned Bamford was injured but for me he isn't a CF. You look like you need a Danny Graham, Chris Wood, Vokes type player.
Roofe returned yesterday & was on fire until he incurred an injury. Bielsa started him on the wing to accommodate Tyler Roberts who has done ok during Roofe's absence, big mistake as he should have played him up front from the onset
We paid £7m for Patrick Bamford who is out injured until Christmas
Hernandez out most creative player should have started from the off too.

The Leeds number 14 was awesome
Saiz - great dink of a ball for our goal, lots of running about & skill on the ball with no end product, our moves generally come to nothing due to his slack passes, also unlike Klich one of our better players yesterday Saiz can't shoot

10 goals, 6 assists so far this season- 3 goals in the last 5 games- but not yet dominating the way he can.
Phillips (the one with a pineapple on his head) my favourite player kept Dack quiet

Worst performance of the season
I personally didn't like our team selection or the way we lined-up
There was no need to play one player out of their natural position let alone four
A recipe for a disaster & so it was proven !Rovers were the better team & deserved their victoryArmstrong ran us ragged, looks a decent wingerGood luck for the rest of the season lads- 7

Too many seem to be buying into the propaganda spouted in the LT 'warning' fans, no wonder people get put off. How many ST holders will swerve tomorrow and watch it on the box when they read guff like that hell Leeds have been regular visitors to Blackburn down the years and aside from drunken noise how many serious disorder incidents have their been ?
Not many at all Christ the other year it was a few lads bouncing around in the Postal Order not rampaging through town, I've seen that stuff in pubs by our own fans many times down the years.
Compare Leeds visits to those of Man U down the years and it's incomparable there's been bother nearly every time either with that lot or by that lot when Salfords finest have a big local day out yet no messing with that fixture other than when tv dictates and they're allowed all day drinking locally for a tea time kick off.
This is yet another fixture alongside Burnley, Bolton that was one of the best on the calendar but is having the life squeezed out of it by overkill !
Anyway balls to all that i'm still going for 2-1 Rovers in a hard fought game with us coming from behind COYB
Well said Tom
You could invite our coach load to a pub or a party & there would be no problem whatsoever
Our supporters club are welcomed at various country pubs/eating places around the country on our away travels

Absolutely no way were visiting supporters attacked in the Lowfield Stand in the late 80s. In fact I'm almost certain that day we were in the Lowfields and the visitors were in the south so nonsense.
True the visitors were in the south stand ?

If Bielsa is a 'world class' manager then how come he's managing Leeds in the 2nd division and not Man City or Chelsea?
Because for the first time in the last umpteenth years we have spent big money on a signing, the manager/coach who is the most important man at any club .
I believe Bielsa is on 50k/60k salary a week

You honesty believe Darren ? I'm 50 and seen Leeds all over Europe and been filled in. Attacking Blackburn women and kids in the late 80s ?
I don't know so I just have to take his opinion & hope he's being honest with us
I've been following Leeds for 54 years home & away & I've seen some ugly scenes not only from our fans but many other clubs supporters over the years
Haven't witnessed too much bother during the noughties

Sorry but I must correct you.
Our manager is Tony Mowbray, and I think you will find he is the best manager in the Championship.
Thanks.
No problem
Good to hear you being loyal to Mowbray

I think Rovers are expecting it to be tough, and will want to keep it tight, rather than play expansive football (I don't think Mowbray knows the meaning of the word...). But we'll be quietly confident to be able to create chances if Leeds start to push players forward, we're usually better against teams that do want to attack us.
Leeds have won 2 of the last 7 league games, so hardly on Championship-winning form. Rovers will have a similar record over the last month so could be a close one.
If Dack rediscovers some magic form, we could win it. I'd take a draw.
Has Dack lost his way in recent games ?

Looking forwards to the game. Like the way Leeds were playing at the beginning of the season.
Probably a big test for both sides as both need to get the show back on the road after indifferent performances/results.
Extremely pleased with the way we have adapted to life back in the Championship.
Hoping for a scintillating game.
Both Rovers & Leeds have done better than I expected

The 'love in' for me started in the Lowfield Stand in the late eighties when I witnessed Leeds brave lads laying into men, women and children indiscriminately, who were Rovers' fans dotted about that bit of a shed, during the second half as we clawed back a 2 goal deficit. Following the match our car was continuously bricked as the car was penned in by other cars on the car park. Two coppers then gripped 2 of the 'brave lads' as they ran away and shoved one of their heads through my windscreen as he was spreadeagled over my bonnet. I've seen nothing since to change my mind and consider that 'scum' is a more than appropriate attachment, mate.
Darren we are not all like that & I'm sorry you had to experience such horrible behaviour

Might just be me but I'd probably stop the game even it wasn't a serious leg break
As the game is now with minimum physical contact players are encouraged to go down at will deliberately stopping the game.
It's cheating the fans imo.

What has Bielsa done that has led to this confidence? What would you say he has brought to the club? On and off the field
Apart from Douglas & Klich we are virtually the same team as last season
Christainsen fell out with Klich who is a quality midfielder only using him for 45 minutes in a championship match v Cardiff in 2017/18
Improvement under Bielsa
Fitness - every player are as fit as a butchers dog
Passing/movement/possession - improved 70%
Style of play - attack-minded
Discipline - improved significantly particularly with the likes of Saiz & Alioski
Training - Players in work at 8am, two sessions in the morning, lunch, a siesta/rest-time then another session late afternoon, players finish their day at 6pm
Good habits - players clean up the away dressing-rooms as Bielsa expects them to leave the facilities in the same clean/tidy condition as when they entered them before the game
Bielsa is teaching young affluent men discipline/standards & how to behave & show respect in their glamorous footballing lives

Leeds showed they can a dodgy team with the recent games esp v brum. If Rovers sit back and invite Leeds on the front foot they will crucify us on the other hand brum showed if you go at the they are vulnerable Brentford should have put them well away and laid the price for missing so many chances, Rovers have to take them when and if they come along.
Birmingham are a horrible team to play against, we gave them soft two goals & after 30 minutes they killed the game off with every aggravating tactic in the book.
Time-wasting with players falling over deliberately stopping play as they feigned injuries, we were on a break twice with men advantage & the referee stopped the game , The rules are a game should only be stopped if a player has a head injury or serious leg-break. Goal-kicks & throw-ins taking an age, each defender taking it in turns to commit fouls, four of them booked but two of them on yellows should gone as they committed poor challenges when already on yellows, cynical play from Monk's troops. The ref never really got hold of the shenanigans making it a scrappy stop-start game, however the officials gave eight minutes of added-on time for their antics
Brum have drawn 8 of their 12 games which says it all
Sounds like sour grapes from me but as a fan I don't want to see players feigning injuries , it doesn't happen in Rugby League, a sport football could learn a lot from!

Leeds have finally found a good manager and this is probably their best chance in a very long time to go up as apart from WBA, the relegated teams from the PL are not looking like they will run the show and bounce back up. Stoke and Swansea I cannot see doing much more than perhaps challenging for the playoffs so this is a chance for at least 2 different teams to get up this time around.
That said, you had a good start last time around and fell away so it will be interesting to see if you can prevent that happening this time.
On the match, I think some of you lot are being a bit too confident. Sure, we have drawn far too many at home for our liking this season but we have lost something like 1 out of the last 50 at our place, so you shouldnt be thinking it will be a walk in the park like some of you lot do.
We would take a draw though but obviously hope we can nick a win.
Hi Jack, you make some very good points
We have probably the best manager in the championship in Bielsa & he is our main hope of achieving promotion to the premiership
Last season when we fell away we had two inept coaches who were unable to get the best out of their squad over a sustained period
This is the first time in fifteen years where I go into every match feeling confident that we can gain a victory or at least get something out of a game all down to Bielsa with his shrewd management & style of football
I'd take a draw even though I think we'll win especially with Hernandez, Roofe & Berardi all available to play for the first time in nearly two months. We'll miss Barry Douglas on the left side but my main concern is if Pontus Jansson doesn't play due to his wife giving birth to their baby, Jansson has been immense in the last nine games, a 10/10 performance v Brentford. I've never given a player maximum marks in a very long time but his performance was faultless whilst all around him were having a off-day.
Should be a good game
