Kayfabe has been dead for years. Everyone's in on the act nowadays. Most adults watch it because it's simple, fun, doesn't take itself seriously and has some amazing feats of athleticism.

It's no different to asking why people watch movies or TV shows. It makes as much sense to ask the "don't you know it's fake?" question about those these days as wrestling.

You could argue that it’s still there , there is always a story and there’s never a 4th wall it peaked with the first gulf war possibly ?
but anyway kayfabe is there in modern politics . Eg did bhoson really have the virus bad ?

  2. I was baffled that adults still watched this , however I listened to a podcast recently ( blindboy ) he was taking about the ‘kayfabe’ in wrestling . The way that the fans accept what is presented to them as a truth and how it’s mirrored in Modern politics particularly since 9/11 ( when irony disappeared) and how Donald trump is a master of kayfabe . Ironically There is a terrific story that there was a line in the wresting where something happened to the main man , vince something , he was a friend of trump who called the wwf to check he was ok .
blind boy podcasts are great by the way . Some would say it’s conspiracy theory , firstly I don’t think many people can distinguish between conspiracy and conspiracy theory , secondly all he does is present factual situations and suggests you consider them differently .

It seems a bit mean-spirited to have a go at Mowbray at this moment as he's clearly upset BUT he has form for playing players when they are injured and making their injuries worse. Dack, in my non-expert opinion, has been badly managed here. 3 games in leas than a week for a lad who'd been out with such a bad injury is insane.

It would seem mean spirited if it wasn’t for the latter part of what you said

They finally managed to get in a good keeper plus and potential good back up. He put those down to the recruitment dept. Then in comes Pears from Boro and is automatic no 2.

Defenders have been coming for years - except they haven't unless we've borrowed them. Then comes Ayala, from Boro, who hasn't played since the previous Jan, has a few games and struggles. Then he disappears somewhere inside his THREE year contract.

We still need more defensive cover but old Tone makes sure there's enough left in the pot to bring back 36 yr old -ex boro- Downing.

Meanwhile ex Boro Richie Smallwood who's been allowed to basically sit in the managers office for 12 months finally leaves. All after staying safe, staying fit and seeing his contract out. So he can further his career nice and ready to go elsewhere.

Then there's Harry Chapman, er ex Boro !

Something isn't right about all this at all whether it's just him terrified of players he doesn't know or something a bit more interesting. He's been running his own show here for the last few years covered by his own CEO.

    It needs to stop.

No it doesn’t sit right does it , especially the pears deal , immediately after signing 2 keepers . The Greek lad does seem strange , he had such a good and seemingly genuine profile yet isn’t getting a sniff ... and I bet I’m better than pears

Phillipe Zdar is part of Cassius who of course released this classic in 1999

France has a really cool electronic scene man. David Guetta is from France and he started out a great artist but did a bit of a Chipmunk and went for commercial music. Cant blame him as he’s a multi millionaire now but wish he would release a few more bangers.

I like all the french and German stuff , saw justice in Berlin a few years back . Ed banger after party , busy p Sebastian etc

I remember Richard Wilson, the other guest on that show, being aghast at Manning's behaviour. In truth I think by that stage Bernard was a rather pathetic figure, a bit like the clown left behind after the parade had gone by.

Chris Morris stitched him up . Cake !!
