Rovers were linked a few years ago when Mowbray was here
More a playmaker than a winger
Barge pole purely for the fact he's another sleight dainty player (although from stats alone, a good one). Would be ok with it if he was a replacement of sat Markanday and he went on loan. However very uninspiring, did they find an old scouting list when packing out Gregg's desk?

The blindingly obvious fact going unacknowledged is that fan base numbers are in theory compounding. If you give 16-25 year olds engagement and good value, when they're 30-35 you've got 2 or 3 fans for the price of 1 when they start bringing their kids.

Have they misheard someone saying Gestede was great at heading upfront at Blackburn Rovers, as Gestede was great at heading up a front at Blackburn Rovers?

Hull's owner has come out and said Allsop is crap, Connolly is over weight and playing passes between defenders is naff.
Would we take Allsop and Connolly and does this help our chances

Brett Baker (coming from Brighton) and our pressing need for a GK might see us move for 32yo Mathew Ryan? Arsenal had him for a season after a lengthy spell at Brighton. Since had individual seasons at Real Sociedad, Copenhagen, and now OOC from AZ Alkmaar this summer after 13 clean sheets in 28 games.
Would prefer that type of move to someone like Ruddy.
They've also a giant of a keeper called Sherpen who's 6ft 7 and has 7 clean sheets in 12 games in Austria this year. As well as the Swansea keeper I think

Was it not Siriki Dembele that destroyed us earlier in the season when Brum came to Ewood? We were cruising and it became a close game we eventually won?
Not saying sign him on one game but I recall a lot of clammer after the game about he is what we lack in pace, trickery and a goal threat
Double Demebele (Blackpool and Birmingham) would transform our break. With Sammy gone we've an absence of pace over long distance. Dolan is quick but only over 5 yards.
Gally is easily replaceable for what he costs for me. I understand he's great at defending and tries really hard but that's a dime a dozen and we may as well punt on Draper on the Norwegian guy at Rotterdam.
Big nasty centre mid and a full back and we're looking like putting up some fight

Just to make the point, the MLS has a complete range of players these days. Gone of the days of Landon Donovan + college kids and central americans. They've been going big on Argentinians (think Almada at Atlanta has a world cup medal).
Not to say he's a world beater nor is the league on par, but it's not the yeehaw leagues like it once was - despite how odd Americans are

good no nonsence centre back, definately be good for us,think he`ll have a few clubs after him and we`de have to be quick to get him,the word quick is`nt used widely in rovers circles so no doubt he`ll end up at one of our divisional rivals
For me our £/position/ability is a bit all over the place. We've fluked Szmodics much like we have Armstrong etc al. Currently Gallagher if he is on the 15-18k per week people say is just not justifying it and for what he brings is a dime a dozen for a better rate. Ive said before id rather we sling him for Draper from Lincoln who's much younger and can do a similar role. We then need to spend some money adding goals across the board. Our wingers and defenders need to contribute more because otherwise, no one is scoring 20 next year and we really are up the creek. I can see Sigurdson getting 10 or 15 but that leaves us 20 adrift and that's for a league position of 19. Helik if he can get 7 again, Koroma got about that this year and adds a bit of pace, Demebele from blackpool and suddenly weve a bit of pace and a threat at set pieces.

We need our bloody CF to be a goal threat, along with the two wingers / wide players.
CBs chipping in with set piece goals would be a nice cherry on top, but we're currently missing the whole cake.
Helik from Hudds would be decent

Pretty much, we scored a lot of goals under JDT with someone cutting back to someone moving across or arriving late into the box, so that fits if it was his philosophy.
Imagine how much we'd have scored with Jordan Rhodes (current) in the box with his attacking positioning and not gallagher

I certainly haven’t described Eustace as a “Messiah”.
He has a lot of work to do next season, and probably in difficult circumstances once again.
I’m crediting him for a job well done in retaining Championship status.
Are you suggesting he's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy

Id rather see Red Rum lead the line in a Rovers top than Gallagher next year. At least that work horse can jump - and its been dead 20 years.
I cant knock his effort but we're beyond the level of effort alone and if we want a target man style player who will try really hard then good news there's hundreds of younger versions in the football pyramid.
Said it prior but we absolutely need to divest goals into this team somehow as we can't gamble next year on another 20 goal striker.
Super Szmod got 27, then Sig 5 and Dolan 5 (in the league). Even if Sigurdson gets 10 (which although I do think he is capable to do so, can also half see him out the door to a European club) that leaves us 27 goals to get on the basis Szmod and Dolan go. 2 wingers with 7 or so goals in them, a striker with 15 or so and that's still only a 2 goal surplus on our league position and that's no easy ask.
Edit: some wingers who scored about that much this year who may be possible either loaned or signed
Koroma
Demebele
Miyoshi
Bacuna
McAteer
Cullen
Burgzog

The other obvious point is it isn't reinventing the wheel as to the blueprint to drive commercials regardless of the pitch. Given the last 5 years and looking at the next 5, the work clubs like Derby, Bolton and Pompey have done re fan engagement will have a very clear knock on as thousands of local fans who otherwise would be united, Southampton etc fans turn 16-30

I don't think he will but I'm hoping we find a way to utilise Sigurdsson
But he's been dreadful and seems to have no confidence when he's playing.
He doesn't commit or run at his fb and he barely crosses it into the box
Maybe we should try him through the middle but would that even work
Technically strong and if he was physically strong he'd be premier league. The way around that is support with physical players (JRC, Dolan) and id put him between 10 and 15 goals. Add in another 10 somewhere else and were looking ship shape

When Graham left and Dack got his injury Armstrong stepped up, then Brereton Diaz when he left and Szmodics did last season when Brereton Diaz left, so maybe we could guess who steps up if Szmodics leaves
Markanday is the cleanest striker of the ball, Gilsenan has a good youth record and Leonard has found space not quite catching the finish
Unfortunately don't any scoring 15+

I would imagine he may have more lucrative offers (Rangers or Celtic would be my guess) and his wages are probably out of reach, but Scott McKenna is out of contract at Forest this summer, left footed CB, Championship promotion on his CV, and obviously not quite Premier League standard (been on loan at Copenhagen this season while his contract runs down), decent age at 27
Out of our price range but agree we need a left footed centre back. Would be after Tom Isherwood. 6ft 5 so covers some of McFadz duty, left footed and has been promoted in Germany. Came through at Bayern Munich but has also played at Bradford. Out of contract too

New
Jrc carter Hyam Pickering
Tronstad Travis New
Gilsenan New
Leonard
If limited to 3.
Keeper needed (Rotherham, Prem loanee or otherwise - 1 must for me would be tall and commanding at set pieces as the rest of the team are tiny)
New cm needed, or right back with JRC there. Personally dislike brittain after this year so would aim to replace. Either Sorensen for right back from Lincoln (tall, fast, creative) or a nasty so and so at centre mid.
Limited to 3 otherwise would be after a striker too but playing to the rules, we can't keep banking on individual quality to keep us up (Dack, Diaz, Rhodes, Gestede, Armstrong, Szmod) so ideally a midfielder who scores goals. McAtee at Barnsley via Luton for me and if we can go to 4, stick Taylor from luton in the deal too.
Otherwise I also rate Freddie Draper not least for having the best celebration in the football league. Would do the same job as Gally but much younger and cheaper.

£900k release clause, we can forget about signing him 😂
I object to crowdfunding based on sales of recent, but for my own sanity I'd put a tenner into a pot for this

Can't see any value in renewing Gally he's dross. None scoring target men are a dime a dozen and I think I'd rather us risk a younger version in Draper from Lincoln than the 15k a week gally is on.
Adding hielek and Bielik would add a bit of height and tenacity to a very pleasant technical academy team.
Just missing an athletic left back (agree would take Chrisene back), central midfielder (is Barron at Aberdeen any good - the Scottish guys at work talk about him) and another player to score a goal or two (McAtee)
-
The polish duo of Bielik and Helik would be my realistic scavenge of the teams going down. Drameh/Demebele etc I can see others after.
Rathborne out of contract, or Odoffin at Rotherham would be a pick from them if we had to. Purely utility players.

Penalty appeal at big club
Gregg Broughton
in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Posted
Might be a daft question and it's speculation aimed at someone more in tune with the legal system than myself, but - if Gregg leaves and signs an NDA he can't discuss privately the chaos of the club and in turn he looks a naff DoF thus future career prospects look bad. However, if he thinks he is better placed to discuss his time here (privately not publicly) and that may help future jobs - can he refuse to sign an NDA?
