Piss poor marking

Noticeable that the new gaffer has put a stop to Dolan’s drag backs, back heels and going round in circles - as did JDT - and he’s a much better player for it; good movement prior to create space for the pass and a good finish. And no way we get that goal with Pears - the quick releasing of the ball by Toth found a player who’d made a run to get into space - he’d have wasted his breath with Pears. I said two moths ago I thought we’d only get in the playoffs if the manager had the balls to drop Pears and Cantwell, which he didn’t till it was too late…

Thats kind of exactly the point. BRFCS isn’t a group, it’s a resource for Rovers fans to have discussion. And at the time of writing, 97.65% of its members back the aims of the coalition.
Do you mean 97.65% of the many thousands of registered users of this site or 97.65% of those who have voted, which is a tiny percentage of those many thousands?

Big differences for me are Toth’s much quicker distribution, and to someone who is expecting it, plus Trav and Sonny getting more advanced in possession.

Well he's already made two saves that Pears wouldn't today - so I'm not sure what you're basing this on.
And his distribution is much quicker

Who was the shifty looking bloke next to Gestede?
-
Anyone else think Pears was to blame for the second? A pointless performative dive for a shot heading for the corner flag.

Going back to my pre-retirement life, if I’d encountered those three in the boardroom, the only one I’d have listened to was Sunhail. I didn’t like everything he said, but at least he said it clearly and briefly. The other two however, are obviously out of their depth. The Geordie Sir Les Patterson blathers on endlessly, saying nothing and with zero charisma. Jeremy the trainee next to him was even worse, he makes Greg the Egg sound like Warren Buffet.

Is one point from the firs five games our worst ever managerial start?

Just seen the lowlights (although they haven't shown the Dolan offside goal or why no-one was following up that Tronstad shot).
As usual, a good GK saves both their headers. Carter lost his man for the first one - but Hyam was literally in no-man's land and of course soft-lad got beaten in the air for the second.
We're an absolute shambles.
It was a good save, he got an un-Pearsy like strong hand to the shot so it went up and away to a defender.

Two crosses into our box all afternoon - courtesy of two giveaways by us - both given free headers by the weak as piss Hyam, both easily beating the truly abysmal Pearsy. 5 goals in a week that would all have been saved by any of the keepers we faced.

Even though the goal yesterday was not down to him, I thought he was shit in the moment. It’s going to be either a shot or a ball slipped in to the six yard box. Sanderson did a good job sending him wide making the shot unlikely. Pearsy though didn’t see that, was protecting a shot unlikely to come so made no attempt to cut out the ball. Even worse, he went onto the floor even though he was nowhere near the ball, precluding the albeit slim chance of being hit by the shot had he thrown himself across to the back post. Useless.

Gone to 3-5-2

Rest of Championship keepers -363 mins
Pears - 2 mins 27 secs

I have to say I’m liking the cut of his jib so far. Reminds me of Souey coming in: imposing man, somewhat of a mixed record but old enough to have learnt lessons along the way, quarter of the season to see what he’s got. I would also see the contract situation as an opportunity - last thing you want to hear in a new job is you are stuck with all these dollopers for the foreseeable.
I predict we won’t see a Eustace/Kidd arms-windmilling performative appearance on the touchline after 60 mins nor will we ever hear “Pearsy and Picks” again.

Waggy had a wand of a left foot to go with his football intelligence - just a bit of a mystery why he never played for one of the 'big boys'. To think Jim Iley jettisoned him for a washed-up Johnny Aston
Wolves WERE a top club while Waggy was there: league cup winner, Uefa cup finalist, top 5 finishes - the surprise is he was turning out for us a few years later.

ANY decent keeper stops the first two. The first goal would defy belief if it wasn’t Pears: a barely still rolling ball straight to his feet and he literally kicks it in. The second one exposed one of his long term flaws: he has no idea where he should be or even is - he didn’t come out early enough or far enough to narrow the angle, but he came out too far to make it a routine dive save. After that 6 minute shitshow it didn’t matter who’d been picked or how they were playing. He should’ve been benched after losing us the Bristol City match and we’ve zero chance of the playoffs if he isn’t benched now.

Nobody has played well but how much of a morale-killer was that first goal, easily one of Pears top-3 howlers, a pea-roller straight at him.

Surely Lowe (nice guy etc) is in the terrible camp - it just never works
Never ever! Just ask Bob Paisley.

Refreshing to hear the (interim) manager refer to him as “Augustus” and not “Gusto” or “Kargs”.

David Lowe seems to be a good bloke but I put the last two results down to a good set of lads showing some solidarity and possibly some anger towards having felt somewhat abandoned by the previous regime and a spirit of "we'll show 'em"
That spirit will only take us so far and if we appoint Lowe next week and lose the next two matches we'll have a long time to regret his appointment.
I would like to see a no nonsense manager who knows how to get promoted from the Championship given a short contract until the end of the season, with a sizeable financial incentive and a promise to discuss the future in the summer when we are preparing for a season in the top flight.
That kind of spirit lasted ten years at Wimbledon.

Although he’s no Adam Wharton, I think we’ve been missing Bucko’s forward passing.
