  1. It's hard to describe how his death has made me feel. I respected him as a person and a manager. Italia 90 was definitely an inspiration, but his passion rubbed off on everybody. He was a fan of football and would never accept lazy players or foul play. He was also a rarity in that he successfully managed abroad.

When my 2 boys are older I will definitely make sure they understand how Sir Bobby put together arguably the best England team since '66, and gave us one of the most emotional World Cups ever.

A true loss to football and the world as a whole. RIP Sir Bobby - you were an inspiration.

  2. You musn't associate change with good, in my opinion Nirvana changed music though there success spawned some pretty dismal bands, that doesn't meen they didn't change Music.

I agree, many bands influence change, but not neccessarily a good one. Also, many think that Nirvana/grunge led to the Brit-Pop era. I think it all leads on. Especially between our music and America's. At the moment i'd say we're in a peak of British music. So watch out for depressed teenagers in black t-shirts in the near future

  3. No.

The strokes are a great band, who cares if they are hyped up. No one takes notice of the NME anyway!

Many people can simply formulate an opinion based on music alone.

is this it is a great album, not sure if it's "one of the best albums etc..." but i think it definitely changed the way many bands form their melodies. the same goes for the monotone singing by julian casablancas.

i agree about the NME Macky. waste of money. bring back the melody maker!

  4. Has anybody played The Elder Scrolls on the X-box 360? I get very bored with shoot em ups and platform games and fancy something a bit different.

i've got it on the 360. great game, graphics and depth. but you have to devote yourself to it or you'll lose the enjoyment.

the achievements are good as well as they relate to the game so you can't get them all quickly.

it's like final fantasy but you can melee and make spells, pick locks etc...

  5. I watched the liverpool game yesterday when gerrard slapped that bloke and realised that if he had been sent off then he would be suspended in the premier league for 3 matches. Surely this almost means you can kick the hell out of everyone in friendlies as the ref will be slated if he actually dared to give you a red?

I agree with you flopsy. refs need more support and less criticism.

  6. Rovers felt they needed to for whatever reason. Rumours like that can be damaging to a players value but probably just a bit of free time 5 live had to fill.
There's no problem, he's not going anyway!

"ooh rovers have bought a striker (rigters) and we need something to fill 10 lines..... how about benni storms off?... yeah that'll do!"

  7. i think bentley has made the 2nd biggest mistake off his career,1st leaving highbury

because sitting on the bench watching lungberg, pires then hleb is a good career move???

    burn out my arse :brfc:

and playing in a tournament will help his fatigue??? surely every rover is a little glad he's not playing. now we only have to hope that derbyshire doesn't get injured!

  8. I agree, couldn't give a toss about England....

    Yep, i agree too.

If bentley is fitter/less tired for not playing teenagers all summer then fair enough. Besides, does anyone think that McClown would pick someone like Bentley? We all know that he has been the most consistent English RM in the league, but he's not exactly fashionable. Even if he set the U21 tournament alight, he would still never make the full squad because of the spanners that run it. They'd rather play SWP because he watches the mighty Chelski each week or Stuart (never done anything exciting in my football career) Downing. In anyones opinion he's at least deserving of a squad place.

Pros - Bentley is fit(ter) for the Intertoto Cup. :rover:

Cons - Rovers and Bentley are disliked a little more (makes no difference anyway with Sav etc..!).

PS: does anyone think it's bonkers that a 22/23 year old can play in an U21 tournament???

  9. Spot on :tu:

I was thinking that, i vaguley rember him saying that the weather was shat aswell

and he then moved to the tropical climates of liverpool

to be honest i don't rate the swiss anyway. but he can defend and it's a short deal. a win win situation for us really. it's not like he's gonna replace nelsen so why worry?
