  1. If I were Wales manager and I had Hartson up front and a naff and aging central midfield I'd use long ball too
  2. TBH I reckon Houllier will be announced on Monday. Risk assesment by the board. Houllier is low risk and has experience and has won trophies. Playing style and signings are poor, but if it's security they are after 20-1 is worth a flutter imo. of course Hughes would be awesome, or even Strachen, but Strachen may be too similar to Souness and might not even have applied. To safeguard the future of the club the board will probably pick Houllier. Low risk = Houllier.
  3. anyone got a link to Dowie's match record?
  4. good idea, Bobby Robson as director of football!
  5. Hope it's not megson. Seriously. How about getting Short as assistant manager maybe?
  6. Shearer would be a disaster. Good players don't always make good managers. Especially him.
  7. Hughes, with Newell as assistant would be an excellent choice, then newell can manage and pick the team when Sparky's away with Wales. Question is: would Newell want an assistant manager's job if he's top of his league? btw: peter ried is a no-no
  8. 1) Hughes 2) Moyes 3) Strachan But I think they'll appoint Houllier
