  1. Apart from the last few games and rovers run in the Fa cup this season has been a bit of a let-down ( although sparky is doing a cracking job at the mo ). so I thourght it was maybe time to do thread on what the squad may look like with activity over the summer and who/who should not be retained. and where Rovers need to be strenghtened

Quite on overhaul needed as we have got alot of deadwood amongst alot of good players the Defence looks sorted for years to come, so we need to strenghten elsewhere in order to avoid a re-run of the last 2 seasons I also hear we have money to spend via Dahlin Insurance, Mardy Boys sale, Beatie sell-on

    OUTS

Gray-Not up to Prem standard anymore

Amo- I'm sorry youre too clumsmy and slow

Short- Whether he will retire or not is one thing , but make him a coach or move on

Tugay-Great player at Rovers , but can see him gong back to play in Istanbul

Gresko- A player of great potential ( you don't play for , Bayer, Inter or Parma if you're a mug) but hasn't cut the mustard

    Douglas-Not up to prem standards

Emerton- Yes Emerton , if we can get 4mill for him and replace him with i.e Routledge we have Thommo and reidy to fill in also, too inconsistent

Flitty- For the reported wages hees on dosent represent good value any longer -Replace with a younger model

Gally- Im sorry but i've tried with him , he just dosent do it for me, never done anything to suggest he has a prem future

Dickov- thanks for all your efforts paul but you'll turn 34 next year and if rovers want to succeed we will need better quality up front ( not to say i dont like him, because i think he is one of the main reasons while we will stop up, just his age and quality lets him down )

Bothroyd- are u Heskey but 10 times worse

    Keep them

Nissa- I think has done a steady jobso keep him

Matty? Im not reminiscing about the old timesI dont think hees been given a fair crack of the whip, whats 1 yr extension gonna hurt, he still gives 110% and is still young ( needs to take a pay cut though )

    Players in

A young RB to give Lucas some competition John Halls ( Stoke )

A left back-maybe Spector on loan

Creative CM- Maybe Scott Parker- If heed go,Brum then he would come to us

Cover im Mid RW/LW- Kris Commons Forest for a nominal fee

CF- our weakness- Pandiani, Bellamy, Trisatin or a Cheaper Quick skillful player Caser Delgado ( Cruz Azul ), or Rob Earnshaw if WBA go down on the cheap

  2. As it was such an excellent gritty performance from Rovers I dont like to moan to much, but the media is realy starting to get me down, they think the reason why rovers won yesterday is because Everton's "bigger" players didn't perform , and that Evertons players are so much better than little old rovers, they talk absolute rubbish , take moyes away from everton and get an average manager in and i would only take cahill and beattie over on any Rovers players. We have been underperforming this season and last because of the mess souness has left us in . trust me our squad on paper is better than most teams outside the top 10 and certainly better than evertons we have had alot of players underperforming at once, but Hughsey will sort us for next season and lets see were rovers and everton finish next seaon

  3. listen mate , i don't want to sound like i've got an inflated opinion or nothing, but i've got a degree in business economics, and i know that outside manchester united there not much to be made from football, how many football teams appear in the ftse 100 for example, yes roman is trying to build a football brand due to the geogrpahical position of chelsea football club, what i'm saying is even companies that are worth 100 times more than chelsea there current profit/looses ratio is not sustainable 88mill in one season alone, it will take if possible at least 10-15 years for chelsea to even compete with Real and Man U in terms of marketability, and even then you look at the profit announced by teams its peanuts compared to an average size business.

My own opinion is that Abramovich will not be at chelsea in a maximum of 5 years, and even if chelsea mange to sell there assests for decent prices they will be left in huge debt , and they do not have the spanish government to cover them like Real,Barca when they get in finacial difficulty. but if anyone tells me that putting Bridge, Kezman etc on 50,000 per week wages makes good suistanble business sense, then there living in dream world. its like Bill gates paying the Chinese labourers that build the components for 20 pound an hour. He woudnt and hees the richest man on the planet

  4. Leeds and Chelsea are 2 completely different monsters. First, Leeds did not actually own most of the players they had to sell. They had basically used those players as collateral for the loans they took out to buy them. Any money received went to the companies that made the loans, not to Leeds.

Also, if you look at most of the players Chelsea has been signing, they are younger players who have years ahead of them, not older players who's values will be nothing (a la Andy Cole) in a few years. That shows that he is in this for the long term. He's building up a squad for the future, and I think Mourinho has shown/said that he wants to keep the squad relatively small, so the spending probably won't continue at this rate.

Oh, and you can't tell me that Duff wouldn't go for at least 10 mil, Lampard for 15 or so, Terry for another 10+, Drogba for about 8, Gudjonson for 5 or more, Robben for about 20 at this point, etc. Plenty of assets there.

im sorry am i on the chelsea boards

  5. Mourinho and chelsea, will get theres when Roman finally leaves, and trust me I reckon it will be in the next 3 years or so then what who will pay for there 88million season loses and there huge wage bill

Do you rely think roman will leave a trust fund like Uncle Jack no, uncle jack was a fan , rovers through and through, Chelsea to Roman is a plaything whom he can chuck when he gets bored.

If there such a  big club why did mr Abramovich go in to buy Manure then spuds before finally going for chelsea, lets face it without Romans money chelsea are an average sized premiership club who would be in huge debt

    utter rubbish.

he will be around for a long time yet. he may have spent 200mill, but those players are not worthless now are they!

He also owns the freehold to one of the most expensive areas in the country ( valued conservatively at £150million)

he is in it for all of the reasons philip said and good luck to them.

What does it matter whether he was a fan or not? We lived the dream thanks to Uncle Jack and now another set of fans are living the dream. I don't have a problem with that at all.

who's gonna pay the wage bill when he finally leaves, and one day he will leave whether it be next season or in ten ,even if he does build the "chelsea brand" and they do have land valued at you say 150 million, there is not one club in the world that generates enough finance to pay the huge wages at chelsea, and then you go on to claim that the players would be sold to cover the expenditure, haven't you seen the demise of leeds and the fact there best players have got sold for a fraction of what they are worth, nevermind the fact that there will be hardly any clubs that can match there current wages.

If they had invested in home-grown players, limited the amount of players on huge wages ( Kezman 50,000 , Bridge 50,000 etc ) then they may not getthemselves in trouble when Mr Abramovich finally leaves,The two richest clubs Man U and Madrid ( Also the biggest market brands ) have recognised the fact that huge wages to squad players is unsuistainable and my friend chelsea are not a quarter the size as those two and i also doubt they will be as marketable as the large euro clubs in 10 years.

The diffence between us and Chelsea is the fact we had a fan investing in our who thourght both in the short and long term , we have invested in our academy and youth. Also when we ewre in our pomp we still limited the amount of players on huge wages, as Jack recognised the fact it would bankrupt the club if he was not there to finance the players wages

There is a dffernce between us and the happenings of Chelsea

  7. Is it just me or are this chelsea side nothing special, i'm not just taking tonights game as a basis for my argument I have seen them half a dozen times this season and are at most a proffesional outfit.

they may look good because the rest of the prem is poor this season take arsenal for example, the arsenal of last season i'm sure would of beaten chelsea easy, they have some "very good players" but no-one you could truly claim as a consistent world class performer i.e Shevchencko, Henry or a Zidane of a bye gone era, i also reckon rovers could have exploited there relative lack of height , minus John Terry and i reckon they would be shakey on set plays

  8. Today my friend pointed out that Brad surely didn't touch Diouf with his hands, but it's his leg which clips Diouf's calf. That would explain fumbly falling by Diouf. I've viewed the incident couple of times now and I think my mate might be right.

    Wrong. Look at it again.

There is no contact between Friedel and Diouf. What Diouf does, after he has gone past Friedel, is very cleverly put his right foot behind his left calf, causing him to trip up.

A nice piece of skill and one that he has obviously worked at in training.

Thats a very old trick, i think Klinsman first invented it, Its used widespred thesedays it just makes the dive look more real. What an Idiot Big Sam has become aswell, cant wait till next sesaons derby game now ill be right up for it

  9. Mokoena - This guy looked edgy from the start and just could not get any power on defensive headers.  Almost caught out by Davies in what was a very good opportuinity wasted - 5

Could you go into more detail TCJ. The commentators were making it seem like Mokoena was the best player on the pitch.

I personally thourght he played quite well, just once or twice he misguided defensive headers. however he looks strong and reasonably quick something our defense has been missing

  10. I am studying at the Technology Innovation Centre [part of the university of central england] located at millenium point bimringham

the University is regardly very highly by industry and students leave with industry qualifications as part of their degree ie ccna ccnp

and you northerners spoken english is of a high standard ?

Listen Brummy take the hint and go back to your own board.Where i'm sure everyones IQ is well over 150. And are all experts of football like youreself

  11. So, what you're saying is that I could go out tomorrow and buy a new Rangers home shirt, with Ferguson 6 on it, and I wouldn't be wasting my money on a shirt for no reason? wink.gif

Is it me of does this Dado guy appear to a bit of a arrogant c o c k judging by his posts.

You obviously have seen this single post and decided to reply. Go back to page 38 and read my posts from that page onwards.

The post you've picked up on was a reply to one of the forum members who apparently works in the press, and who claims Ferguson will be at Ibrox come Friday. While I am still extremely sceptical of this, I was merely asking the question regarding a new Rangers shirt.

I think you should chill out a bit mate, take a step back, and stop reacting to posts which were a ) none of your business, and b ) not offensive or "cocky".

    Cheers.

This guy hasn't once slagged rovers off or said Rangers a are a bigger/better club ( unlike other posters on the forum ), and has made some valid points regarding Bazza, so there was no need for those hasty comments, however there is one brum poster that is annoying and condescending in equal measure

  12. Of course Allardyce said none of these things, refusing even to condemn his player for what was clearly a dive.

    Football is a sick sport.

What has made it worse for me is seeing people come out and say well it goes on so you just have to accept it. No you don't have to accept it, ban him. The only good thing that may come from this is that filth will hopefully not get another free kick as long as he plays. As for his manager, sums up everything about him in that game, anyone that can ever defend that scumbag cannot like the game of football. Nolan is a coward, Diouf is filth and the manager is worse than any of them.

well said mate you summed up all the points there, ahhhhhhhh i'm angry with that Flemwad diouf

  13. just some friendly banter

the amount of crap i have had off you lot the past week or so what do u expect

i watched 2nights game and u looked pretty poor at home, anything that bypassed your midfield u seemed to struggle with and anything u pumped upfront was not capitalized on

listen mate the only rubbish been spouted this last week has been by Brady,Bruce , Gold and Sullivan, Youre he ones making the claims of how much youre a " bigger and better club " as fans who have watched rovers over the years we know we did not play well tonight but in saying that we were better than Bolton. But we do not need other fans commenting on our teams strenghts/ weaknesses . if you watched good technical football at St Andrews every week your point may be valid but as you dont watch good football then leave the comments to Rovers fans

  14. unlucky on 2nights result

me being a birmingham city fan this has made my night knowing savage looked ineffective and nearly got sent off

but diouf is a cheating git that spits at everyone, he dives everywhere and when we played bolton a few weeks ago he was a right handful

nevertheless it wasnt a penalty but one of your defenders did stop a goal bound shot with his arms so i reckon it evened it out a bit

i thought blackburn had no fluency or creativity and had no one in the team to put his foot on the ball and pass it about

you will have to get used to playing savage cos he is only effective when he runs after the ball and tackles people, you will need to base your team around him and do your attacking via the flanks or long ball cos savage's attacking pass completion is very very poor

you still are lacking anyone upfront who will score goals for you on a regular basis and your defence looks very shaky especially that south african and dominic matteo, leeds went down for a reason and that included matteo as captain in the centre of defence

also very suprised with the noise from blackburn fans, i thought they would of been louder considering it is a derby, whats the crack with half a stand empty also ?

how can you comment on Rovers lacking what u say when youre a whopping 1 point in front of us and have been doing as badly as you lot lately, havent Brum got there own boards or somethin

  15. Is it me but do rovers, since the win of the prem all them years back ever seem to get the rub of the green, in that game Bolton should of had at LEAST 2 players off for elbows and then the ref only gives nolan a yellow fora career ending challenge, then you've got that scumbag Diouf, he should be banned for his actions, why didn't the ref consult the linesman as he was miles away from play

P.s How the hell are rovers ahead of Bolton in the foul play league ( theirs a conspiracy aginst us i reckon

  16. here's some more from JW, and gold and Sullivan if you are listening this how a PROFFESIONAL club should conduct itself

Blackburn chief executive John Williams told BBC Radio Lancashire: "It feels like a marathon but now we have go the result we wanted.

"It has been messy and too public. A lot has been said but not by Blackburn.

"We distanced ourselves from a lot of the comments being made.

"We always wanted Robbie and made that clear at a board meeting before the transfer window opened. We made a series of offers."

Williams added: "Robbie Savage is a nice guy and thrilled to be playing for Mark Hughes.

"It is quite clear that connection drove the transfer through."

  17. Sky are quoting the newspaper reports of the weekend from Birmingham "Robbie Savage needs to see a psychiatrist if he thinks that Blackburn are a bigger club than Birmingham"

Maybe not "bigger" but certainly "better" in every way.

They are making themselves look so silly (isn't it fun? biggrin.gif )

let me see, if brum are basing the criteria for a big club solely based on the size of the immediant fanbase ( in the case birmingham pop 1 mill est ), then Brum should be a bigger club than all of these

    Dortmund

    Porto

    Parma

    Deportivao La Coruna

    Real sociedad

    Valencia

    Bayern Munich

need i go on , they simply no nothing of what a big club consists of reputation, history, prestige TROPHIES etc, Brum or and always will be a small club who cant attract 3% of the immediate population to watch them

  18. What a shame yet another set of fans with " were realy a big club u know", weve got the perinail canditates spurs and newcastle know weve got Brum and Bolton, if u notice there is a pattern growing amonst these clubs - theyve all been starved of any succes

How can Birmingham be taken series as a big club, when they cant even attract 3% of the cities fanbase to watch them, theyve got less trophies than virtualy the whole of the prem, there are loosing there captain and best player to a club they deem inferior. they dont pay out big wages, there baord want to leave at the first chance, there stadium is only run-of the mill, they havent got a particually good academy need i go on , how the brum fans go around with this chip on there shoulder cause theyve been in the top Tier for a couple of seasons beats me
