1. from a Bolton perspective i'm assuming we've been given the full end if required and to be honest based on interest so far i'll be surprised if we don't sell out.

it's being viewed by many as a great opportunity to show BWFCs board that if you want full houses bring the prices down!

Initially Bolton have been given the lower section of the Darwen End as the Club hope we have sufficient demand from the Rovers fans to fill the top tier of the Darwen End.

If Bolton do sell out their lower section and we still have space in the home end, the Club may extend the away section.

So let's hope we have a top tier full of Rovers fans!

  2. I received a flyer for this on Friday and whilst I think the card is an excellent idea, and whilst the flyer was very witty it's a complete waste of time and money mailing it out to me as a ST holder. Unless we're trying to downgrade ST holders.

If 12,000 flyers were sent out to ST holders, that's more than 3k alone wasted in postage without the cost of the leaflets themselves.

Surely the Club's database is capable of differentiating between ST holders and occasional walk on fans? Or did someone in the marketing department not think to apply the relevant filter?

As stated by Stuwilky, all STHs received 'The Card' with a letter explaining the promotion while highlighting that STH still and will always get the BEST deal. Also as STHs are ambassadors of the Club, we are hoping that you will pass on 'The Card' to any guest that you may bring to a game this season.

Judging by your post, it seems that you haven't received the letter, is this the case?

I have pasted the STH letter just incase.

    Dear Season Ticket Holder,

Thank you for your continued loyal support.

As a Club, we strive to give our Season Ticket Holders the maximum

value and you will continue to receive the BEST discounts on attending

    games at Ewood.

It is clear though, that we must also do everything we can to increase the

number of matches our non-Season Ticket Holders attend. We must do this

whilst protecting the value of the Season Ticket.

Please find enclosed a copy of ‘The Card’ which we are re-launching as a

means to encourage more of our fans to visit Ewood more often.

The details are explained within the enclosed mailer. ‘The Card’ is aimed

at Adult supporters only (i.e. 16 to 65 years).

As the mainstay of the Club’s support, it would be fantastic if you would

encourage your friends and family to use ‘The Card’ as the best way for

non-Season Ticket Holders to make games at Ewood as affordable as

possible. Please pass this copy on if at all possible. More copies are

available from the Ticket Office should you require them.

    • ‘The Card’ can also be used in conjunction with the ‘Proud to be a Rover’

Adult membership scheme which, for non-Season Ticket Holders,

costs just £20 for the year and amongst other benefits provides two £10

OFF vouchers for ANY League game at Ewood.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact

    us on 08701 123456.

Thanks in advance for your help and enjoy the season!

  3. Incidentally did anyone else get the wonderfully timed email from Rovers Marketing dept. At 21.21 today I receieved an email thanking me for my support on Thursday and asking me to book tickets for the game against Wigan. That would be the one that took place 6 hours prior to this email. Apparently they also sent out mailings on Thursday urging people to come to the Uefa game, at 20.30. Genius!

Firstly the Club does apologise for the inconvenience that a minority (less than 1%) of our ca 45000 fans on the email list suffered- which was due to an IT issue that brought down our email system at the end of last week and over the weekend. This problem has been rectified since.

Secondly the forthcoming fixtures info forms a small part of our regular matchday newsletters. There is plenty of other content and promotions like The Card, our various membership schemes etc.

Thirdly the email isn't the primary source of fixture information and merely acts as a last minute reminder and we admit that it is far from ideal that a small fraction of these landed after the event.

Every effort will be made to stop this from happening again.

  4. How can it be non-profit at £469 for a 1 nighter in a 4 star hotel? The company advertising at the top of the board are running flights for £229 and I can guarantee you they are making a profit. It simply doesn't add up in any way at all.

How do you expect the Club to compete with travel agents?

It's the chartered plane thats the biggest cost in the package

  5. Firstly, the Club have taken the maximum away allocation, 729. The Corporate clients will be seated in Executive seats on the halfway line and will not affect the above figure.

The travel package is a non-profit exercise and is an experience that can only be had through official channels.

  6. The club has its most successful season for years and season ticket sales/hospitality figures are up are they?!?! Of course they are up after the abysmal lows of last year! From 15th to 6th and plunging sales are (incredibly partially) alleviated...that plays far more of a part than any marketing scheme could ever dream of.

Last time Rovers finished 6th, we lost 1500 STH

  7. This the kind of issue that BRISA are interested in. In what way do you think Rovers can improve their communication with the fans? Do you mean something like sending letters to everyone on the database to inform them of cheap ticket deals etc, for example?

(BTW, it's "Steven" Reid, not "Stephen" Reid. Unless the guy in your sig isn't the Rovers player.)

The Club have invested a decent sum in new systems to improve the communications channels and get information, especially price and offers as quickly as possible to the fans. We send regular emails out, however there are alot of fans who we don't have their emails and who probably miss out on exclusive members offers like the tickets for the 'An Audience with Mark Hughes' last year, as they were quickly snapped up by those who received the email.

If you would like to update your details, here's the link https://eticketing.co.uk/blackburnrovers/

That's exactly what our fans are doing, staying away.

Too many people are now feeling that the prices charged down at Ewood are beyond their means and don't represent good value for the cost.

Adult Season Ticket - from £14.21 per game

Junior Season Ticket - from £5.21 per game

Young Adult Season Ticket - from £9.21 per game

And if you can't afford to pay it in full, there's a debit debit instalment plan option (£28.89 per month) which is still available

  8. LOL Nothing at all changed on mine and i never had other accounts.

Only thing i can see them doing is merging my account with my dads when they shouldnt off and if dad finds out he will make a up roar about it because might mean not able to get tickets he needs (sometimes goes with abotu 5 or 6 uncles and mean wont be able to get that amount some times because 4 per account)

    Got same initials

The multiple accounts are created by the various internal systems the Club have in place (i.e. Online ticketing, mail order, TO, website etc) and these have been merged to one single record.

So you won't need to worry about merging your account with your dad.

The Club do apologise for any inconvenience this has, or may cause.

  9. Ditto.

Does this mean there has been a batch sent out that should have included STs and didn't or have they remembered half way through that they said we should keep hold of our existing cards ?

No ST cards were mailed with the Membership packs.

ST cards were sent out seperately and only to those to that have moved seats or age group.

Everyone else was reminded to keep their ST cards from last year.

  10. I love it when people know what they are doing.

Lee - how much of this gets passed on? I often feel Im the only person to ever complain to Rovers with the reaction I get from certain quarters.

Do keep in mind that it's not easy to verify if you're the actual person that you claim to be over the phone. If the club had your email address in your record, then I'm sure you could have emailled them and they would have been able to amend your record. So the safest way for the TO to deal with this issue, is by you visiting the Ticket Office with ID. That way, they know for sure who you are.

In saying that, you should be able to change your details online. You should have received your login and password with your ST mailer last season. If you don't remember them, then I suggest you email marketing@rover-mail.co.uk with your name and client ref nr (which can be found on your ST card) If you don't have it, then email your postcode and DOB

  11. The Young Rovers pack arrived this morning.....nice to know I still qualify :)

Contains the same two posters, a tatto transfer, ST wallet, badge and a Mark Hughes face mask!! I wonder how many of those we'll see round Ewood on Saturday.

The tattoo transfer is actually a window sticker.

It's also included in the adult pack, to be used as a car sticker.

Also don't forget to bring the clap banners down to Ewood. Show the drummer, how it's supposed to be done.

  12. Where do I as an adult get a seat for £15?

CIS E04 Outer cat B games & Jack Walker W01 Wing cat B. But man, those seats are not a good place to be seated.

    394071

Where it's also £24 for Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool games.

Have you actually sat in that area?

Rovers have got one of the lowest (if not THE lowest) entry level prices for a match ticket in the Premiership.

Adult Tickets from £15 for the Wigan game and it's only a £5 for the kids.

  13. I can't think of anyone from those French who would really be a good shout for our team. Though for any FM lovers out there Farnerud plays for Strasbourg and maybe could be an option to play on the right for us. Some of the Swedes might know more about him than I do though.

    393830

Pontus Farnerud is a close friend of mine. I would say his brother, Alexander (also at Strasbourg) is probably the more talented of the two but I doubt either of them are suited for the Premiership.

If we're looking at Swedish players in the French league, Kallstrom (mid) and Isaksson (gk) would be my pick.

  14. With regard to unbalanced charging due to membership schemes, I'm waiting for the next club to do this to us a I intend to obtain a membership for the club in question and then attempt to purchase a subsidized ticket in the away end with it.

I'm expecting the clubs to make it as hard as possible, but hopefully documenting and publicizing the anticipated objections will bring this underhand tactic more to peoples attention.

The balanced pricing rules was brought in for a reason (Bates didn't want ANY visiting fans at the bridge so threatend to price them out), I think it would be very wrong for Rovers to abuse the same loophole (and I'll have no qualms encouraging visiting fans to become members at Ewood).

    389012

Surely the total costs of purchasing a membership (which are only valid for a season) and a matchday ticket will make it more expensive than just purchasing a ticket.

  15. It's reported in this morning's Sun that the underfire Boro boss has handed 30 YEAR OLD George Boateng a 4 AND A HALF YEAR DEAL at 45,000 PER WEEK.

This despite the fact he has only managed 42 GAMES IN 19 MONTHSdue to injury!.

I had to read this several times to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Is it any wonder some people get turned off Premiership football?

No wonder crowds at Boro, not exactly an affluent area are dropping even faster than ours.

    382535

In my opinion Boateng's injury, is the biggest reason to Boro's downturn in form. He's by far their most influential player.

Not sure what the other players are on up there, but I would expect Viduka, Hasselbaink, Mendieta, Southgate to be above that- so don't think the wages are that bad.

What's more surprising is the length of the contract for someone that age.

  16. I went to my first game of the season - spent £25 on the ticket and by half time was thinking "great way to spend 25 quid" toothless, a team with the ability to trap the ball further than I can kick it and just tedium

You could have joined the adult membership scheme and got a fiver off the game and another fiver off 2 more B-games.
