  1. Oh Theno, I think you'll find the Scottish oil has been a rather important contribution to UK PLC's coffers over the last thirty years.

They haven't got any...... its British oil.

All them jocks dont earn a good living fighting in the Scottish army do they?

Not heard of the North Sea Oil rigs off the coast of Scotland which contributes the vast majority of "British oil" then?

Didn't think so. Drop the racial/stereotypical comments eh? They're so old it's pathetic. "Jock, tenement schemes, haggis, sectarianism" ... all things you read overhyped stories about which are nonsense.

When you finally grow up and leave that Goldfish bowl of an exhistance you might see that the people up here are decent.

  2. I am getting a bit tired of you Mr Prso.  You started out well enough, good intelligent posts but now your true feelings are beginning to shine through.  You English this and you English that.  Look the deal is dead, supposedly, you can now return to goad your only competition in a two team league, Please.

As for Barry Ferguson.  I've had a think about this.  I am not sure I buy into the "family reasons" thing.  Not after the fact that just a few weeks before he had said how happy he was.

No, there has been some behind the scenes pot stirring going on.  I like the theory someone put forward of Souness' involvement in getting this all kicked off, the timing is right, it really started when the Geordies started sniffing around Boumsong.

I would not doubt GS had portrayed to his pal our financial situation and the likelyhood of them getting Bazza at a cut rate fee.  Enter Fergies agent telling Bazza it's a done deal and here we go.

Oh how much the 'Gers underestimated little homely BRFC, they had no idea of the resolve of our Manager, and I do beleive it is Sparky's determination to keep Fergie that stopped the board from selling, well done Mark Hughes.

Through all of this, how do I feel about Ferguson?  Disappointed obviously, but I am prepared to accept that he has been led a merry dance by two individuals looking for personal gain.  I think Barry is a few french fries short of a happy meal and can easily be swayed and I really am beginning to beleive he has been nothing more than a pawn.  I think if Fergie sat down and really thought this out he would realise what has really happened, all theoretical on my part you understand.

As for the future, as long as Mark Hughes wants him in the side and he is pulling on the shirt I will back him.

Who knows if Sparky gets Bazzas head straight this may turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

Sorry, but being decent in the face of posts including derisory terms like "Jock" and "Jockland" and being told to go away and "eat some haggis", I think I've done well on here thus far.

However, none of my terms were derisory. I merely said "the typical English view". What else can I word it like? I suppose I could have said, "the typical view from down South", but Blackburn are an English club, the English papers are writting the stories in question, so the term used was a fair one. I didn't make ONE derisory comment towards England. I have a good mate from London who's a diehard Gooner ... if I slated England I'd have him to answer to! laugh.gif

And as for the conspiracy thing ... Ferguson has told Iain King of the Scottish Sun, directly, that "all he wants to do is come home". See my earlier post. He told Viola he wants home, Viola came to us, we acted accordingly.

  3. Thanks Paul- your comment about relegation is all so depressingly true.

An article from Scotland for you all to scan. wink.gif

Seems that only Dado is quite so sanguine about Stefan Klos's injury and that nobody in the press has picked up last night's LET comment about Ferguson/Hughes "showdown" talks.

More releveant on here is that cold comment from McLeish that Ferguson must be having a tough time of it personally.

Rangers' behaviour stinks- they are not an honourable football club and I for one shall have no sympathy for them in the near inevitable crisis which awaits when Celtic retain the SPL title.

Oh no, you'll have no sympathy of Rangers .... I can't handle such rejection.

Get a grip eh? I really hope you're English and live in Malta, cause if you are genuinely Maltese, don't you think you should be backing one of your local teams instead of proclaiming yourself as some Blackburn messiah?

Yes, we're (Gers fans) all gutted at Stefan's injury, and I was looking forward to a little word with him this afternoon. I don't think I need to bother reading any articles about the Hughes & Ferguson meeting, because it has no relevance to myself. I have said all along that I do not expect this deal to go through, and if it does it will come as a massive, massive shock.

Oh, and as for this "inevitable crisis" you speak of ... I don't think 13 titles in 18 seasons is a crisis, especially when this is compared to Celtic's 5 in that same period. As usual you make comments from afar with nothing but the internet as your "source". You even once admitted yourself that regional newspapers "edit" their stories to suit the local readership, yet you continue to believe the content from English papers while doubting the Scottish papers.

So, you can take your "sympathy" elsewhere. I think St Patrick might need it right more right now, being 2nd bottom of the Maltese Premier League. Or are you a Sliema Wanderers man? Oh wait, you're a local boy who supports .... Blackburn Rovers.

I thought Londoners supporting Man Utd were taking the ######, but come on! laugh.gif

  4. take out the money equation and what do you have ?

a Rangers outfit that is NOT pulling out all the stops for a "star" player.

They now have a more pressing urgency in another department and that is the goalkeeping position. they do not have an adequate replacement for Klos who as we all know Jan pointed out is the only reason why Rangers are currently second in the SPL, IF he was out any earlier then they would be below Hearts and Aberdeen.

The re-signing of Ferguson guarantees them absolutley NOTHING.

If Rangers want him they will pay the going rate

We don't need to spend money on another keeper, Klos is only out for 6 months. What is the point in spending millions on a keeper to stick back on the bench in 6 months time? Well done, there is no point.

Allan McGregor, Stefan's understudy for three seasons, will take over ... he's a cracking young keeper who Stefan highly rates.

Once again, the English making assumptions about situations they know nothing about.

Oh and to the guy who said Larsson (note the spelling eh?) was a one-off. Care to consider Paul Gascoigne, who would NOT have been the player he was for England had he not joined Rangers the summer before and enjoyed a full season. The Lazio bench from time to time would not have made him that player again.

Brian Laudrup enjoyed a brilliant World Cup during his Rangers days, albeit near the end of the days before he went to Chelsea and got crocked.

Typical English thinking they know it all when they don't ... oh wait, there's a Maltese geezer who "scans" the Scottish papers ... I forgot.

  5. So, while using this to determine the criteria required to play for Rovers, you still cannot understand why Ferguson wants home to Ibrox?

    Thank you.

You're not the sharpest tool in the box are you?

Read my most again.....with feeling ph34r.gif

Yes, I understand what you mean. Ferguson does not want to play for Rovers, and you only want players who do.

But at the same time, you question his decision to want a return to Rangers.

  6. I love reading your lot's reaction:

You don't deserve Barry, the way you turn on him as each report comes in is pathetic.

No. We are Blackburn Rovers Football Club fans.

We want all our players to care about our club as much as we do. We are a proud club with huge tradition who have punched above our weight for too long.

If Barry doesn't want to wear the blue and white halves, I hope one day in Glasgow he'll wake up and regret this sorry episide.

We want all our players to care about our club as much as we do.

So, while using this to determine the criteria required to play for Rovers, you still cannot understand why Ferguson wants home to Ibrox?

    Thank you.

  7. I love reading your lot's reaction:

If he stays its: we missed him against Bolton, a partnership with Savage could be brilliant, etc.

If he goes, or mentions his love for Rangers: he's a puff, he's lacking in ambition.

The SPL might be inferior the Premiership, albeit through Sky's funding, but he wants to come home to HIS team. And if you can't see that, then more fool you.

You don't deserve Barry, the way you turn on him as each report comes in is pathetic.

He's still a puff, you're a puff, Murrays a puff and Viola's a puff and if you want him then simply pay up or shut up, its all down to you lot of Scottish PUFFS.

Oh grow up you f**king idiot .... come back when you can post like an adult.

  8. I love reading your lot's reaction:

  9. Last night I honestly thought it was mate ... it looked dead and buried.

However, Viola's public comments suggest it's alive, albeit on life support.

It appears some people on here also think he'll be gone by Monday evening. We'll see soon enough ... although the "respected media source" on here who is "never wrong with transfer news", just was.

I don't see Ferguson undergoing his medical ... do you?

  10. Viola says he will "work on this deal until the window closes on Monday night".

There could be some twists yet, and with Klos being ruled out for the remainder of the season, Murray could yet act to remove some of the clouds which have gathered over Govan today.

Also, Iain King in the Scottish Sun published his conversation with Ferguson at 2pm yesterday.

He said: "I've been listening to Scottish radio shows and phone-in's to hear what the Rangers fan think of me coming home. I also hear people question my ambition but I want to come home, it's that simple. I want to scream down the radio and tell everyone it's that simple.

He was also relishing telling the Rangers fans the truth at the signing press conference and wanted to play 45 minutes on Saturday to warm him up for the Cup semi final on Tuesday night.

It's painful reading for a boy who's one of our own. The sooner he's home the better. He's not worth £6m, he never was. Rovers should hold out for £4.5, be it in clauses or not, and let the boy come home.

No doubt, none of you will show any compassion for this, but as I said ... he's a Glesga boy.

  11. Fact is mate, he's not worth £6 million, and Williams knows this. Even the price you paid for him was over inflated and typical of Souness.

I thought £4.5m (£2.4m cash and £2.1m owed) would have been extremely fair.

Ah well, I always said it wouldn't happen ... unlike some people who came online and started mocking Rovers with the "Barry's coming home" chants.

For the record, Scotland Today (Glasgow's main news program on ITV) said that "a source close to the negotiations say the deal to bring Ferguson home is not dead".

I'll believe it when I see it.

Whether he is worth £6m or not Rangers have a bl**dy cheek trying to get him for anything less. The guy is at the peak of his playing career and is still a valuable asset to Rovers. (As seen when he was missing on Monday night).

    This whole episode stinks

When a player like Santi Solari is available for £650k, I think it's safe to say the football market is extremely depressed right now.

Look at the market ... £8m for Michael Owen? £6.3m for Morientes?

Compare this to when Zidane joined Real Madrid for around £47m!

The market is depressed, end of story.

  12. Rangers bidding at a maximum 4.5 mill is an admission that they ripped us off for 2 mill. Maybe they should have the decency to send us 2 mill back.

At the moment everyone is a loser. Feguson is at a club he doesn't care for, Rovers have a high earner on the books whose heart isn't in it (yes, another one!) and Rangers haven't got their man.

Now that they've succeeded in de-stabilising our club, they should do the decent thing and make their way towards our valuation. I don't think it's dead either, they've gone this far, they may as well go teh last mile.

    What an unholy mess.

Sorry bud, but I think this one is dead.

And please remember that Rangers Football Club did not start this thing with Ferguson. Think back to the very beginning, it was Viola who informed Rangers that his client was "unhappy".

Remove the blue and white tinted specs and take a vacation from Phil's fantasy island.

    The simple facts are:

    1) Viola informs Rangers of Fergusons' "unrest".

    2) Rangers lodge bid of £3m.

    3) £3m bid rejected as derisory.

    4) Ferguson hands in transfer request, probably on Viola's advice

    5) Rangers bid £3m plus Ball, this is rejected.

    6) Rangers lodge "final" bid worth £4m.

    7) Final bid rejected.

    8) Rangers declare deal as "dead" on the Official website.

These are the only cast iron facts, the rest is speculation, especially from our Maltese friend.

The Barry Ferguson deal is DEAD.

  13. I have just realised how ridiculous the Rangers final "substantial" offer was-

    £900,000 cash now

    £2.1m payment cancellation 31 August

£500,000 on appearances on the same formula they cheated on by NOT playing Michael Ball.

No doubt Rovers, Rangers and Viola are assessing the current situation- the latter two somewhat apprehensively.

So now, will Ferguson sign the Rovers' offer of an extended contract (no doubt the same as the deal offered by Rangers which could well be less than Rovers were going to offer anyway  laugh.gif )?

The big focus for John Williams has to be to get the striker loan and the left back deal done before 17.00 on Monday. Then this will have been a mega-transfer window!

This is a significant day for Blackburn Rovers FC.

The only previously times another club has gone away empty handed when trying to prise away one of our "big" players were when Uncle Jack sent Man U packing over Shearer and we hung onto Duff when Liverpool came in for him.

Somehow I dont think its over just yet, and to be honest I was hoping Rangers would meet our £6m price tag so that we could move on..

  14. Dado, you work for a bank you told us. You must be used to reading legal documents.

Go read the FIFA Regulations on transfers and agents.

Would you say Rangers and Viola have contributed to "The Maintenance of Stability" in the contract between Blackburn Rovers and Barry Ferguson as prescribed by FIFA?

You blame Viola for this farce. Rangers played along as well.

Rangers did not contact Ferguson directly, and if we did, there's no proof. There is nothing stopping an agent from "acting on his clients' behalf".

Viola informed Rangers that Ferguson was "unhappy" and wanted a move. Rangers, following the rules, lodged a bid which was rejected.

Everything in between the first bid and this second new bid is nothing but mere speculation and "fantasy island" as someone quoted yourself as living on.

The second bid, made directly to Rovers via the correct channels, was rejected, and Rangers declare their interest as dead.

I feel sorry for Barry in all of this ... there's one thing about Glaswegians, we look after our own.

  15. Rangers have confimed that the Barry Ferguson deal is DEAD. And there will be no more contact with rovers.

Right, lets swap him for Bellamy!!

    Excellent news.

    1) Make sure it is dead dead- no lazarus acts in the summer.

    2) Rehabilitate or trade on.

Isn't this just what always happens? dry.gif

One club makes a bid. It's turned down.

They scrimp and scrape to make an improved "final" offer. It's turned down.

They say the deal's dead and usually "It's the player I feel sorry for."

Then the player moves two days later for an undisclosed fee.

    The deal is dead.

Frankly, we can both get on with supporting our teams, and maybe Barry can find a new agent ... cause it's obvious Viola started this whole thing off.

Looks like the media source who posts on here WAS wrong for once eh? At Ibrox for his medical on Friday? Not a chance.

  16. Look Phil, he's not coming back to Rangers, so why don't you just drop it eh? Even some of your own board members can't be bothered with your pedantic rants or right, wrong, moral issues, tapping up, courts of law, and the weather.

Ok, forget the weather ... laugh.gif

Christ sake man, let it go.

For the record, according to your location indicator, you are from Malta. If this is true, are you Maltese or are you an Englishman living abroad?

  17. I've met Stefan on numerous occassions and enjoyed upteen chats with the guy.

He is one of the genuine good guys in football. He feels extremely settled here and has no desire to move. I think the term he used once was "in with the bricks". He could have walked on a Bosman last summer, but signed a new deal to 2007 and has already indicated an extension may be signed.

I'm not at all "scared" of Stefan going anywhere ... I know the man's character. Let me know when you next speak to him Phil, I'll try and have a word with him on Saturday before the game.

The simple fact is that you give the impression you know everything about my Club, which you don't. It's no wonder the reports and information about Scottish clubs is so vague with people like yourself posting sensationalist comments about players, etc.

And to claim you "scanned" the Scottish papers, sorry but I had to wipe a tear from my eye due to laughing ... my sides have not hurt so much in a long time. Cheers. laugh.gif

Anyway Phil, the reason why the ENTIRE Premiership will be better off is, as I said before, Sky's money. Each Club, under the deal due to expire in 2007, earns £20 million or so per season.

However, one report on the Premiership is slightly worrying.

The intial deal was worth £1.1 billion or so and paid for 66 live games.

The current deal was worth around £1 billion for 133 live games or so.

The new deal, will be lower in value, and will be for yet more games.

More games for Sky with less money being paid out.

I cannot remember the exact numbers, but there is a trend in less cash to the clubs and league for more live games. By comparison, the SPL clubs are lucky to receive £1.5 million per season for TV from the Setanta Sports PPV channel deal we signed in pre season.

    No wonder we're worse off.

  18. How long did that take you to write? Was it really worth the effort? Considering this is a Blackburn Rovers Supporters web-site and most of us don't really give much of a flying sock about your lovely clubs trials and tribulations, apart from when we happen to meet in the transfer market?

Anyway, BBC reporting that Murray is apparently about to make a new bid: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ers/4203441.stm

Took me about 5 minutes, tops.

I will not have people reporting crap about my Club. I've not badmouthed or falsely reported anything to do with Rovers in my time on here.

I expect the same decency in return.

blah blah blah. More crap. Really mate, there are more important things in life than football. So dont act as if your team are 'the great one' because most people could'nt give a toss about Rangers.(our feeder club-anymore good players that we could have please?)

    Information was reported falsely.

I rectified it. If you want me to act like the other Rangers fans who've come here before, then so be it. You're "more crap" begs belief ... for the simple fact, I've not posted any rubbish in my time here.

  19. Wasnt Ferguson once "a 100% Rangers man". Didnt stop him leaving. Now bottling back to you lot. I remember the time he left, when Rangers fans said they never wanted to have him back and he was a judas.

Oh how fickle football fans are.

Oh and I must agree with what SharrockDownSouth said about Dado_Prso_9's post.

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The post wasn't for you. If it's boring don't read it.

    Simple eh?

  20. Wasnt Ferguson once "a 100% Rangers man". Didnt stop him leaving. Now bottling back to you lot. I remember the time he left, when Rangers fans said they never wanted to have him back and he was a judas.

Oh how fickle football fans are.

99% of Rangers fans have never called Ferguson a "Judus".

Get your facts right before spouting midlead and misinformed sensationalist information around.

Klos will retire as one of the longest serving Rangers goalkeepers. End of story.

    Anyway, Ferguson isn't coming home.

I expect the same decency in return.

  22. Just done a quick scan of the Glasgow papers- the indications are that Rangers are going to sell the Serbian who cost them £1.2m in the summer to either a German or Russian club and chuck in Michael Ball in the deal for Rovers to try and achieve something to breach "the country mile".

Ricksen will go to the Premiership this summer on a Bosman, Rangers are already fighting to hang onto Klos and as for  Arveladze, I don't know.

For all those Rovers supporters saying we won't get our price, I can only repeat that in these situations, the reluctant selling club doesn't keep the player but it does get its price.

If the price is not met, it keeps the player who leaves later but not to the club who originally bid as the player is usually too angry or loses faith with the bidder for putting him through some weeks of hell and still not being able to secure him.

There is nothing in the Ferguson situation which would suggest that Rovers will lose out TWICE- both on player and price.

    Right, enough is enough.

You sir, are an idiot. There, I finally said it. You spout the biggest load of nonsense I've read in my life. You are obsessed with the Ferguson transfer, and now you're making outragous claims regarding Stefan Klos and Fernando Ricksen. Claims about Klos is one thing you don't do son.

You "scanned" the Glasgow papers did you? That'll be the online editions since you come from Malta. I live in the centre of Glasgow, and work in the centre of Glasgow. I buy four papers a day, those being The Daily Record, The Scottish Sun, The Evening Times, and because I'm a snobby Bank worker, The Herald.

Yes, Rangers are trying to offload Dragan Mladenovic (he's "the Serbian" by the way) because he's failed to settle here since his £1.2m move from Red Star Belgrade in the summer. He's finding the style of football too fast for his own personal game, and it's been mutually agreed by Dragan and the Club that he should move on, if anything, for the sake of his international career. He's a cracking player, but British football is not a style easily adopted by all foreigners.

Now, the creme de la creme ... "fighting to hang onto Klos".

Sorry, you are wrong. This is not opinion son, this is fact. Since you're so delighted to "scan" articles from Scotland, why not have a "scan" at this one?

    http://www.rangers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Fe...~618930,00.html

Let me quote from this eh?

"Stefan is not looking left of right - he is 100 percent a Rangers man. He is only interested in playing for Rangers for the rest of his career".

Did you catch that alright? Good ... give this man a round of applause.

This is merely Stefan reiterating what he told his agent last week. That being, that he does not want to know of ANY interest in him, because the answer to ANY club will be the same: NO.

You may not be aware (wait ... it's you, so you won't be), that Stefan has four children, two of whom were born in Germany and two of them here. His family are extremely settled, and his children enjoy their schooling here. Having met Stefan, oh let me see, at least six times now I think it's safe to say I have a good indication of the kind of guy he is. He's a quiet, professional, family man. You sir, spout some amount of garbage.

    Moving swiftly on ...

Fernando Ricksen, yes he might well be moving on to the Premiership in the summer, but he said himself that he would only come South if "one of the big three came in for me, and I know realistically this won't happen". Fernando's view is why be a small fish in a massive pond with the two Cups being your only "realistic target". You probably don't know that his agent is due in Glasgow this week or next to discuss Fernando's new contract, and Fernando himself has confirmed to the official Rangers News that if we bring back Barry, he WILL stay. Who knows, if the Ferguson deal does go through, we could see Ricksen stay. The papers today reported that his agent merely "didn't turn up" for a meeting. Rubbish, the meeting is scheduled for next week sometime, perhaps Murray is waiting on the outcome of the Ferguson saga?

As for Arveladze, he's been leaving since last summer when we announced he would not get a new contract, so this has always been his final season at Ibrox.

Sorry to go on a rant, and if any other members of the board want to have a go at me for this rant at Phil, then feel free to do so. However, I will not have a pompous idiot who thinks he knows it all, make suggestive comments about my Club or it's players and using a sorry excuse like "I scanned the Scottish papers" to do so.

    mad.gif

  23. No I don't.

As you've stated in previous posts, this is so unlike David Murray and begs the question, why ? He has only gone and aggravated a club and it's supporters even though he realises that he'll need to table an improved offer at some stage if the player's signature is to be secured. That being the case, why didn't he at least suggest a figure that would not be insulting even though it was likely to be rejected as an initial offer.

I wonder how much damage has been done and whether other clubs will be wary when dealing with Rangers ?

    Exactly mate.

How many times in the years gone by, have we heard Club's praise the way we do business. Up front, honest, and professional ... three terms I've heard used in connection with Rangers in the transfer market.

From the private jets, to the contract being discussed over dinner paid for by the Club ... everything at Ibrox has always been done First Class.

The last 20 days must have been embarrassing for Bluenose's living down South.
