  1. The decision wasn't made entirely for test cricket but also for county cricket. The extra millions of pounds is vital for the counties because apart from twenty20 games the crowds are non-existant, meaning no income apart from the counties who have test status grounds. Personally i would like to see cricket remain on channel 4 because i think there coverage is better than sky's. It would also mean more people get to watch it, which has certainly helped this Ashes series grip the whole nation because the whole nation has had chance to watch it! It's a shame there isn't more of a compramise

  2. Awesome test match, just lacked a fairy tale ending like a harmy yorkie last ball flattening the stumps. I agree with that artical about the prem season being a bit of an intrusion(i never thought i would say such a thing but it's true?) Hopefully we can do enough to get the ashes back but i've got a sneaky feeling its gonna be 2-2

Can't praise both sets of players enough, both skippers lead from the front and made it into a enthrauling 5 days.

    Long live cricket!

  3. Everyone should lay off Geraint Jones. As a keeper myself i know how tough it is. The stumping chance was extremely difficult because of the suprise bounce on the ball, the catch into the sun was unfortunate, if he can't see the ball he aint gonna catch it! Geraints a good keeper and a damn good batter as well who is a useful member of the team.

  4. Even the stumping chance was difficult, the ball did bounce alot higher than normal. I know the sun was in his eyes but that chance was regulation stuff. Lets hope we have 2 fine days weather wise so we can finish the game off.

  5. I've just watched the game on football first and i was pleased with the performance first half. Second haf they were better ut as soon as we went 2-1 down the boys gave up and to me that's un-acceptable. Savage and Reid were overrun in midfield and when we went 4-5-1 Bellamy couldn't hold the ball up and it kept coming back and back at our defence. Very disappointed.

I'm not even gonna comment on what Emerton was trying to do for that third goal

  6. As the saying goes at Old Trafford:

If you can't see the Pennines it's raining....

..and if you can see the Pennines it about to rain.

    Nothing changes.  wink.gif

Thats not quite true as it's usually us that wants it to rain not the Aussies!

  7. It's a tough call i think we should enforce the follow on because you can't predict the weather in Manchester but then that also means Warne will get to bowl last and inevitably get the most turn.

I thought Gilo was superb again today, as was Simon Jones.
