  1. I believe that is Paul Agnew's (formally L.E.P) company. As the article suggests they have strong ties with Rovers and work closely with the club. It seems an odd move for both parties as Neild has never come accross as a Rovers fan and I think he admitted as much on here about 12 months ago.

This is a big oportunity for the L.T. to restore some credibility with the Rovers support.

It is indeed Paul Agnew's company - he was sat in on the Press Conference when Ince was announced to the media at Ewood on the top table with Ince, Williams etc. They do a lot of work with the Rovers

  2. Lucas Neil's reaction to scoring last night was appalling - more so given he is supposedly captain.

So what he has had a little bit of stick in one game this season - and his performance in the first half of that game deserved it. Lucas Neil is certainly not the first player to get some grief from his own fasn and nor will he be the last - remember Mr Wilcox?

Quite happy not to see him play for Rovers again - bugger off to Liverpool's subs bench

  3. Taking the Liverpool game as an example, the priority for football fans on Boxing Day has traditionally been to go and watch their team - especially a game at home against another local(ish) team. This would always be a game which has drawn a near enough full house.

This year will be no different - will be a very decent crowd, with a very big away following so no real need for the club to make the effort on pricing.

Instead, surely they are better making a big push on the less attractive games in the hope of getting more people through the door?

  4. I think ours was the last train that had the fans held under armed guard (albeit in a freindly manner) at Rotterdam Central, only to be sent by train to Rotterdam Blaak, where we were frog-marched across town into a dead end and held for another 45 mins before being bussed another 20 mins to the ground.

To make matters worse, I was 4 people from the turnstiles when the gates "failed" (although I suspect what had actually happened was they'd got word from inside about the overcrowding problems and had decided to leave 100 or so fans outside to avoid further problem). Adding another 10 or 15 mins until they let us in.

It seems that all later trains were sent straight to the ground without the trip to Blaak.

(To make matters worse, I'd got on a train with BigFillBar8, only for the smurf to decide her bladder wouldn't last an hour, so we caught another one a few minutes later).

I was on a train from Amsterdam about 6.30 - 7.00 ish and were told at Amsterdam to get off at Rotterdam Blaak where we were marched down the dead end too. Our only complaint about the organisation from Rovers was we had been told there would be special trains from Amsterdam straight to the ground but then told in Amsterdam there were no such trains!

As for the stewarding inside the ground - an absolute disgrace

  5. My tickets arrived this morning, cannot wait until Wednesday now when we fly out from Bristol.

As for pubs in Hull mate, the port is in East Hull which is an absolute S***hole, having lived in Hull for 18 years i think i can safely say East Hull is one of the biggest dumps i've seen. If your looking for a drink before you board the ferry and want to take a taxi to the port, go for a drink in town centre or go to West Hull and go to pubs like Silver Cod or Cross Key's which is in the near-by village of Cottingham.

Used to live in Hull - East Hull is indeed sh*te - other decent pubs when I was there were on Beverley Road - the Mainbrace and about two or three round and about

  6. The point was if you had gone all the way to Austria, you at least (like every other fan who i spoke too out there agreed) would expect the players to thank you for your support. Its not too much to ask is it, especially from the capitain?!! :o

The point which seems to have been missed is the club captain should be judged mainly on what he does ON the pitch, but also he is judged on what he does OFF it too.

Totally agree - the reaction from Lucas felt like a bit of a kick in the teeth to all those who had travelled so far at so much expense last week. As captain, surely more should be expected of him than the rest of the players?

Just seems that his reaction last Thursday is symptomatic of his attitude in general since failing to get his move - not interested
