Bring back golden balls..................
-
No. Come in your PJs and bring your pillow because Bolton are still boring even if they did beat Newcastle.
Agree, Bolton are boring.
-
Yes but the manager's supposed to have fallen out with Morrison so it isn't going to happen
Looks like Morrison will go in Jan and i hope hes replaced by Freddie Eastwood or Nugent.
-
Give him a chance. You're obviously not playing to his strengths
What strengths? All he does is;Runs around alot like a headless chicken,Always two yards of the pace,Waves his arms around a lot and is flat-footed................
-
Scowcroft and Kuqi up front? I think you can see what Taylor's philosophy is for Palace. Kuqi should score goals in the Champ but looking at your midfield, there appears to be a lack of creativity, which doesn't help.
Lack of creativity,They were clueless from where i was sitting last night.

Dear Mr Hughes,
I have kept the receipt for Pookey or whatever his name is, Is their any Chance we could get our money back or swap him for Benni McCarthy. You have ripped us off, He reminds me of Akinbiyi or Adebola. The Chairman Simon Jordan had this to say to me"I have spent the last two seasons watching that pillock Dowie making the defence pump high balls to a miget. Now we are pumping high balls to a carthorse who just nods it down and loses it.Whats the point in that?
Please help before i get the tintac.

Jansen played his best football at Palace? I seriously doubt it. Even taking into consideration his accident and subsequent loss of transfer value, he was a great buy for Rovers.
His goals fired us to promotion and continued to flow in the Premiership. Prior to the 2002 World Cup I would have valued him at £10 million easily, and if only Sven hadnt had a characteristically bizarre change of mind at the last minute, he would have gone to Japan/Korea, and arguably done a job for England up front or on the left given the chance.
Had this been the case then the scooter accident would never have happened and Jansen would still be firing them in for us, if not for a bigger club.
(He scored in the Worthy Cup Final too...I think I know who got the better end of the deal - I take it that Palace spent the massive transfer fee on building a sustained Premiership force did they?)
When matty left us we were in admin and needed to sell.Rovers paid about 4million for him and at that time, We needed the money to keep us afloat.
He did do well for us and scored some good goals.

Played his best football for palace, We got a good deal for him.Good-luck.

If you've read this board enough John you will find that whilst nobody rates his technical abilities, and that most opposing ch's seem to get the measure of him when he is on from the start, we certainly recognise his talent to come on as sub half way through the second half and cause mayhem and panic in the opposition ranks.... frequently swinging the game in your favour. SuperSub is his best position.
2.5million is a lot of dosh for a sub but if he can change the outcome of a game by coming on and scoreing it is money well spent.
We are at home to coventry on saturday, so it will be interesting to see what happens weather he plays from the start or hes on the subs bench.

O dear, I think the big mans been dropped today.
What a strange transfer.
He needed a kick up the arse and what a time to score the winning goal.

Well, there's your answers. I very much doubt if any football fan anwhere in the world has posted a question on another team's site and has received such comprehensive and honest replies. brfcs.co.uk is wonderful.
I'd just like to add that as much as I admired Iam Wright as a player..........
This message board is tops and what makes it tops is the fans. I have been on other messageboards to get info about players and games and most of them give out abuse. 10 out of 10.

Three sides actually.
As others have mentioned this really was the pits. The lowest of the low. Nevermind relegation from the Premier League, that didn't even come close somehow. The 3-1 win at Ewood was surely enough this time round we all thought. We missed out the season afterwards as well (Swindon) but to me that didn't seem quite as bad.
All of what Scotty said with the addition of leaving Blackburn boulevard at around three in the morning (it was more like seven actually but I can't remember exactly what time it was and it was early) on the official away travel to eventually get to the ground 10 minutes after kick off. We lost. Courtney. Fans on the pitch. Glad All Fecking Over by The Dave Clark Fecking Five. Oh and after sitting on the coaches for three days, waiting to leave and getting grief by the fabulous Palace fans, we eventually set off. An hour later we saw a sign: "Brighton - 30 Miles" - the driver had taken us on the wrong motorway.
I appreciate that none of this is your fault Palace John, neither is it Dave Clark's, but there was a set of circumstances and a chain reaction of events that took place that day that I blame Crystal Palace for and always will do.
Courtney tried to make amends three years later by awarding us a couple of penalties against Leicester at Wembley when we eventually got promoted. He also retired straight after the game. He knew.
Buying Kuqi for £2.5 million is just a start. You've a long way to go.
Kuqi is abit of a donkey,Hes got no pace and against luton he didnt look very fit. I think you saw jordan coming.
-
From someone who wasn't at the game, I've never felt comfortable listening to Rovers on the radio and I blame the experience of this match for it.
Palace never do well when i listen to them on the radio.
-
Football fans have long memories John. I don't think it's Palace that people have the hump with, they were just the opposition when Mr Courtney worked his magic. Still, he partially redeemed himself at Wembley in '92 and with hindsight we were better placed for the top flight then.
I have the high-lights of the game at home and they are also on Youtube, It looked like a def pen to me,Your player slid in for behind on our player in the box.
Can honestly say it was the worst day of my footballing life
Mine was when we lost against leicester in the play-off final (96), They scored in the 90th min and the player (i wont give you his name) who got their goal was ex-palace.
-
Don't worry about us and our long term grudges.
Give it a couple of years and discussion will change to how we should spend the Shearer (Or is that Judas?) money.
I know what you mean, When wright left palace for arsenal, I remember feeling gutted and to top that he scored against us twice on the final day of the season to send us down.He also kissed the arsenal badge when he scored.
Even now when wright talks about his football days he never talks about his time at palace, its always arsenal.
-
Palace; Afterwards we yo yo,d up and the leagues, sold ian wright, got an italian legend down here for a season and abit, only managed to develop one stand, went pretty much extinct until we got saved by jordan, went back to the premier but fell down due to a manager who was expose as being abit of a pleb.
Blackburn; Afterwards went on to get promotion, buy one of the nations most legendary strikers in shearer, won the league, developed 4 sides to there stadium, played in europe a couple of times, went down but recovered rather well and are now carrying on with their mission to grow as a club.
-
No there all Journeymen, who have found their level in the fizzy pop league.
Kennedy has had more clubs then Jordans had cock.
-
He can cause mayhem in the penalty area but you need other good players to profit from his chaos.
Scowcroft,Morrison,Freedman,McAnuff,Kennedy are all good players that can profit from that.

Kuqi might bring you up, but he won't keep you up. Sounds about right.
All in all, it was one of the best pieces of businesses for a long time to get 2.5 million out of him. He's certainly not skillful enough for the Premiership.
-
just a guess but probably because of our play off defeat when we lost 3-0 in extra time after leading 3-1 from the first leg. To say there was some unbelievable decisions from the ref, George Courtney would be an understatment!!
as for Kuqi- he has heart and will run and run- a decent player at championship level but i dont think any rovers fan could believe you paid 2.5 million for him after we got him on a free!
1 million would have been a bonus, but give our thanks to your chairman!
That was back in 89 and all should be forgotten.
It dose seem like a lot of money but we got 8.2million for aj which i think was a bit overpriced.
-
I think Gav still hates palace
Why dose he hate palace?
-
We have signed him for 2.5million and i was wondering how you lot rated him.
I think he will score goals but maybe a bit over priced.
Cheers
