  1. im not saying that this is what should be, but if in the event that souness should resign/sacked, and chelsea should decide to dump the italian and go for Sven, then i would be more than happy if the club were able to sign Ranieri as our manager. Lots of ifs and buts in there, but he is a man, who in my eyes, would be able to replace Souness, and who could be available this summer
  2. I agree with you to an extent 1864 about this Souness debacle, and why there seems to be no movement by Rovers to improve the position in the league. I also have a feeling like the board are preparing for something come the summer, but what that is, i have no idea. I dont think its them preparing for the drop as of yet, becuase if you remember in our first season back, our prospects were a lot grimmer, and the board were more than willing to stump up sufficient cash for our survival. That either means they are expecting a new arrival in the summer, whom would replace a perhaps retiring Souness, or a restructure of the team, by offloading players like Yorke, Tugay, and players of a similar ilk who are either becoming too old, too lazy or both. I have no idea which of the two is a stronger possibility, but my head seems to think both actually, with Souness announcing his retirement towards the end of the season, and a new manager revamping a new style of Rovers. Why do i think that??? Well, i honestly think the Souness Express is starting to run out of steam, and somethings needs freshening up.
  3. Oh sorry, did i miscalculate something and its impossible for us to be relegated? Nope just checked twice again, and we're still only 3 points above the relegation zone with 48 points still to play for.
  4. Relegation is a frightening thought, most would agree, and although we're not in a relegation position at this moment in time, it is not a threat that should be ignored. At the moment, we're only three points clear of the dreaded zone, and even if that were still to be the case on the last day of the season, we could still go down. It would seem that the way we are playing at the moment is something that will not improve dramitically until next season perhaps, where we can start afresh. However, lets just consider the thought of relegation for a moment. Last time we were relegated, we were in possesion of numerous players, who were by and large, stealing money from the club left right and centre. This time however, we do not have this influx of also ran players, and should there be a need to sell to reduce cost, then we would not be in such a critical financial position as last time. Having accomodated for a season in Div 1 financially, we could then turn our attention to our younger players, who at this stage would surely be getting a look in after the present team had left. This is something that we did last time we were relegated to an extent, one which numerous clubs have done in the past, Charlton springing to mind most recently. With this influx of Youth Players playing in the first team, not only would we have a far leaner ship in as much as wage bills were concerned, but we could also find ourself in a similar position as last time, namely with another trio of Gems with which to tackle the premiership afresh. And perhaps this time, we could handle it slightly better, and manage to keep them in their prime form, and playing at our beloved club.
  5. Agree 100% Future manager i would like to see though would be paul hart! (did wonders with forrest last season, not had good start to this though) so Paul Hart has done more or less exactely the same as souness then! right? except that Souey has taken us from division 1, and done what Hart has done in the Premiership. Why would you want Hart in instead of souness if thats the case? Well modey actually aid he _agreed_ that he wanted Souey to stay and that he saw Hart as a manager for the future, and I think by future he refers to the future as in the day GS is no longer our manager. oh yeah. too true. I stand corrected
