Before this season, Bolton paid 5.5 million on interest for there debt last year, having had there debt for a while i wonder how much interest has been accumulated and representative to the 160 million figure?
Davies' company received an annual "loan arrangement fee" and a very decent interest rate on the loans to Burnden Leisure.
And to say he doesn't need his money back! Well he has a net worth of £40M so would you want £150M back? He makes kettles FFS.
Very grim times ahead at Bolton and at Rovers I think.

I didn't see many of Comstives' games at Burnley etc obviously but I remember and saw all his games for Rovers and as a young player he was a strong lad with plenty of energy but maybe lacked pace and a first touch.
He was only brought into the team when we were down to the (very) bare bones, the task later filled by Peter Devine, Tony Diamond and ultimately for Saxton by Paul McKinnon. But he showed enough in the reserves as I recall to interest other clubs (He must have made 100 or more appearances for the ressers).
Made the most of the talents he had a had to make a career albeit in the lower leagues.
Terrible news for his family. Hope Rovers mark this at the next game but Venkys not to got a good record on these things.

IfWe've been complaining all season (and with good reason!) but must say I feel for the Wolves-supporters right now. Anyone know how their financial situation is?
A Keaning lot better than ours. Wolves fans probably don't think so right now but I'd swap their situation for ours at the drop of a hat.

Bowyer will not be manager next season.
Should he be? Well there are a lot of inferior options.
The problem however does not lie with the manager but recruitment of players and lack of a back up team of quality coaches and medical staff.
It's currently run like an actual pub team and I can see no sign of this being addressed.

So Venkys are happy to trust:
A slug
A p!ssed up Scotsman
A madman from a footballing desert
A nobender
A load of self interested wasters
But not:
Anyone from Blackburn or Rovers fans
I hope the club eats all their money and they end up in a hovel like the rest of the punies.

Shepstone scores! A crucial goal as well.

So within 12 months we have lost:
Owners
A Manager
2 Coaches
A medical team
A Chief Executive
A Managing director
Several other directors
Several other club officials
Accountants
Kit Sponsors
Kit man
Several decent players
3000-4000 fans
8 league places
Another coach
Several million £s paid to agents
The club must have been in some mess to need all this re-structuring.
The sooner these cowboys disappear back to India the better...and take the scotch @#/? with them.
Things will finally turn nasty on the terraces tomorrow.

...and I should have included the 3-2 win at Burnley on Boxing day 1976 and the 3-0 win at Oldham on Boxing Day 1980.

Chris Sulley has just started as Academy manager at Leeds United.
Ian Miller is there also.
And Larry of course.

Hardly a surprise.
I loved Brad but I think we shipped him out at the right time – no matter how hard it was to stomach at the time.
Clearly, he's not playing in the best Villa team but I think it's clear that age is finally catching up with him.
He'd make an excellent goalkeeping coach!
""Villa scouts have looked at Rangers keeper Allan McGregor,28, as a possible replacement for Friedel.""
Good luck with that one Gerald.

The header in the last minute against Leeds (Part 6 I think) was one of tHe best headers and most satisfying goals I can remember.
I will start on 92-93 next.

Might be some Aurora later tonight if the clouds relent.
If you haven't seen it , it's amazing, but what we see here will be a bit faded compared to further north.

Anyone else there that day.
Poor old Meccy was in his late fifties at this point...

West Ham are ready to take severe sanctions against fat boy Benni McCarthy.
Benni McCarthy facing hefty West Ham fine if he fails to lose weight
It must be all the jellied eels and pie and mash.

Barizan is an each way cert in the 2.35 at Liverpool today. (6-1).
It will be prob be 4th now.
Ruby will have 3 fags and a cigar on the way round in the first (Kayf Aramis EW?).
I might be "having a cut" at picking the winner in the race over the National fences as well today.
Mad Max should go close as well after blundering when going well at the festival.

Here's a starter...the punchline is right at the end for our younger viewers.

What a player Sellars was. Top bloke as well. Wish we had him now.

Anyone remember or go to this game.
Millwall were already promoted as Champions.
It's the only game I can remember running away from out of fear.....

Jimmy Hill was such a sanctimonious git.
I match sponsored that game.
Then here's the 2nd half...in 2 parts.

If you want to see proper football watch this.
Got more to come but still struggling with the technology.

No point in calling for players to be included from Reserve or Youth team coz they aren't any better.
He's got to work with what he has.
I suggest...
Work on the defence, get them doing basic stuff like marking centre forwards. Play 5-3-2 or 5-4-1 if need be because we HAVE to stop conceding goals. Also get in a right-back before the month's out.
Abandon wide men coz we don't have anyone deserving of a place on the left and Bentley needs to be on the ball as often as we can. Maybe Reid, Dunn, A Newbuy and Bentley behind Santa or McCarthy up with Santa and Bentley in Mid. We therefore need a centre-mid to replace Savage.
But the main thing is we need to be able to keep the ball and that just means practice and not having players in the team who constantly give the ball away ( Tugay, Mokoena, Pedersen, Emerton) Our possesion retention is nothing short of amateurish at the moment.

One things for sure I don't think we need to worry about Man Utd coming knocking for a while....

Absolutely right.
11,500 Rovers fans on yesterday is incredible given the last 7 years.
Better not take any action or make any protests though because that would only make things worse wouldn't it?
Been saying for years the club is set up to fail from the top down any coaches, managers and players that come in will never succeed until the ownership changes.
Still a long way Rovers can fall. Local rivalries against AFC Fylde and Curzon Ashton await.
