  1. Micheal Carrick overrated ?

yr joking mate he is the most complete midfielder in Div 1 and is the type of player that can enhance greatly given a run in the Premiership.

he would be an idela foil for ferguson should tugay depart Rovers.

Disagree. Carrick and Ferguson are TOO similar. Both want to play in front of the back four and be the team's playmaker. Neither prefer to get forward to support the strikers and get goals.

I don't think Carrick has the mental strength to make it as a top Premiership player. That as well as his propensity to get injured. West Ham fans got on his back in their relegation season and the guy disappeared. If he wasn't injured, he was avoiding the ball.

No, we have Ferguson and Thompson, and then there's Donnelly, Flitcroft and probably Douglas and Tugay. So we're not short of central midfield players. Unless of course, Thommo or Ferguson have further set backs whilst recovering from injury.

Just hope Tommo's knee is better

lot of conflicting rumours it would, sincerly hope not

And he is still unproven in the centre of midfield.

  2. Carrick? Eer, no thanks. under-performing over-rated player... if ever there was a player born to play for Spurs.

And if the MGP bids turned down again, I think there are lot worse things that could happen than to go for a gronkjaer loan.

Inconsistent, blah blah blah, he'd still be a good loan move it it meant we could gather the extra coppers to finance a permanent MGP deal.

I was under the belief that Jesper is in the post heading towards Birmingham huh.gif

I was under the belief that he is right-footed. We have tried plenty of those on our left hand side already.

  3. When Wendy askes him if he would be back next season he was really non-commitall.

Which usually means NO. If he is staying then why not just say so.

As much as I would like to see Cole stay (even though I seriously dislike him) I think that he and Souness will find it very difficult to work together, which could have a detrimental effecy on the team as a whole. So maybe it is in everyone's best interests if he does leave.

Finding an adequate replacement will be a big problem though.

On the subject of GS his antics on the line yesterday show that, contrary to what he says, he clearly hasn't learned anything about his self as a manager - it has to stop!!

  4. I have alot of admiration for GS and what he has done for this club but I wonder whether he now has anything left to offer.

I hear people say it would be suicide to sack a manager with only six games left, especially so when that manager has achieved so much.

But the fact is that leaving him in charge for the remaining six games will see us relegated. There is clearly unrest in the camp and things are not going to change. So what have we got to lose!!

The only problem is that we will find it very difficult to bring anyone else in at this stage of the season and I am not sure TP can do it again.

    Any suggestions?

  5. The people running the club are the ones in the know. If GS has lost the support of the players then the Chief Exec, chairman etc. will be well aware and I am sure will take whatever action necessary, even if that means the sack. Unfortunately we can't sack the players at this stage.

If the manager still has the backing of the players then it would serve no purpose getting rid of Souey, in fact it would only rock the boat even further.

Lets trust those in the know. In the meantime the rest of us have to get fully behind the team between now and the end of the season and hope that we can get the wins we need to stay up.

  6. it is col ,but im so pised off with them earning 20,30 or whatever k they are on and not putting the effort or performence in .They earn more in a month than I can make in 5 -10 years HARD WORK

    IM DEFO DISSILLUSIONED

Interesting comments those Abbey which I think sum up the feelings of many supporters including the die-hards.

I am extremely disillusioned with the obscene amount of money in football.

For the first time I am finding it hard to justify to myself shelling out £400+ for the 'privilege' of watching football.

But clubs prey on people like me and assume that we will turn up and buy season tickets because we love the club - don't be too sure!!

  7. - Don't you just cringe during the football World Cups or Euro Championships, when non-supporters start giving it large about footy when they blatently have no prior knowledge of the game. These bandwagon riders are doing the same with rugby.

not at all like you jumping on a bandwagon every time we get beat ....but how hes he a good manager if we get 1/2 way.

WELL DONE ENGLAND NOT A UNION MAN BUT FAIR DO'S THE BOYS DONE US PROUD.

I hate to go on about this but you brought it up.

You've obviously missed the subtlety of my point.

After beating Everton - I was prepared to say that Souness may actually turn things around and perhaps my calls for his head were premature.

BUT at no point did I say that he had suddenly become a great manager. I still think Souness is holding onto the job by his fingernails and if we lose against Spurs - he's got to go.

I get the feeling you are actually hoping we lose to Spurs.

  8. We couldn't go far wrong by employing Hoddle and Sturrock in a duel management role.

    Absolute complete and utter rubbish.

I have seen some nonsense posted on here but you are without doubt the master of it. I think you actually enjoy Rovers doing badly.

  9. Has Souness resigned in shame tonight?

And if he has not, does the board have the guts to sack him, which they should have done weeks ago?

If anyone were in any doubt, we now in the midst of a full-blown crisis.

Sorry but your personal vendetta is totally boring now.

  10. So we sack Souness do we? Absolute and utter crap!!

Would a new manager at this stage have any different players to work with?  NO!!!

I would rather stick with the man who has been successful for the last three years and let him sort it - as I am sure he will.

You can't just change your manager every time a team has a bad run - calm down FFS.
