  1. I'm happy. Hughes was not my first choice (Dowie was) but I am confident that he will get the team motivated. I will be at Ewood for the first time this season on Saturday to welcome in the new era.
  2. errr yes, he played the Spurs midfield off the park (coming in for the suspended Garry Flitcroft)
  3. Yes Warnock makes some interesting points. Slightly bizarre choice of interviewee though. Perhaps Warnock had put his application in and is now trying to persuade the Board away from the other candidates via the media!!
  4. Why? You don't surely think that he is a better bet than the sterling Dickov/Stead combo plying their trade for us currently.
  5. By the looks of things the press don't seem to be any wiser than us. I think it is time to step back from the rumour and hope that JW makes a good decision.
  6. My choices 1/ Moyes - Proven that he can work on a limited budget and bring on talented youngsters which is exactly what this club needs. 2/ Dowie - I'm not sure why. I have just been very impressed with the way he has got both Crystal Palace and Oldham playing. Again a man that can work within limited resources. 3/ Hughes - Down here due to his lack of experience at club level. Potentially he could be one of the best but are we willing to take that risk?
  7. Of the realistic targets, I think that Hughes would be the best choice. Had Hughes been at the club longer he may have become a Blackburn legend - just remember his fire and brimstone performance in the Worthington. Fantastic. If he can inspire other players to that level of performance than he is the right choice. I also consider that like Souness he will have the capacity to attract players to BRFC which might not otherwise come to the club. Unfortuantely, as I have previously stated, I do not believe that a welshman will abandon Wales during their current qualification programn. This would leave the possibility of Hughes managing Wales and BRFC at the same time. Is this possible and would we want it anyway??
  8. Or maybe a Dino Baggio/Grabbi combination? With Kidd as Director of Football as they get to grips with management?
  9. I'm not convinced that Hughes will come. For a welshman, being manager during a World Cup campaign which features England at the Millenium Stadium must be a big deal. In any event how good is Hughes as a manager. I was none too impressed with the way Wales set about playing Russia in the playoffs.
