    So... thoughts on the game.

I thought you were quite poor first half, couldn’t really see what the game plan was but we also played as well as we’ve played in a long time, our passing and movement was excellent and we should have been out of sight.

The second half I thought you showed character and some spirt, you could have crumbled after the 2nd. You certainly had more of the ball and put us under more pressure even if you rarely really threatened. Could have been different if we weren’t fortunate to have the immense Mings who has transformed our team.

I though Dack was quite quiet, I was looking forward to watching him. The lad who came on for the last 30 odd mins impressed, Brereton was a bit embarrassing with him dives.

Hope those that made true journey had a good trip to VP despite the result and a safe journey back north. Best of luck for the remaining games.

Yes Tugay was superbly accurate to feet and into space when his invisible friend was injured but Cowan's ability to stop a ball hit with pace was superior and produced more often- not unusual to do it four times in a match.

I used to marvel at his ability to do that, and the way he would drop a ball in behind a back four even on an angle and get it to hold up or come back on the bounce. He was a sublime player, he totally made David Platt.

Said a week ago we'd get tubbed and nothing since has changed that prediction for me. We don't seem to come out with any sort of reaction after our recent maulings which has led to said feeling that it'll be another 4 or 5 goals shipped here. Would love to be proved wrong.

Tubbed? Not heard that before, I’m having that one away with me.

Sorry, I wasn't blanking you, just a mate in my town who I play five-a-side with is a Villa fan and he helped me with the home game preview. You are on a roll, I just hope you come unstuck Saturday, but doubt it. Our defence is a massive problem.

Not a problem mate and I agree largely with his views.

In terms of the attendance, they've opened the top tier of the Trinity Road Stand, I wouldn't be surprised if its as high as 37'000 - 38'000.

Ming and Hause have made a huge difference to us since they arrived but Jack coming back is the thing that's transformed us, it just lifts the games of all around him by 10-15%. It is impossible to over state how important he is to us, Tammy has scored a lot of goals but I'd rather be without him than captain Jack.

I'm looking forward to watching Dack, just hope he doesn't play too well.

Coming down on the coach. Don't mind the idiots as long as it stays in the ground and it's all Abit of fun.

Should have a few goals in it at least.

The coach park is literally next to the ground so you cross the road and you are in, but you won’t have trouble at VP.

First time down to Villa Park for me so looking forward to that aspect. I can't see how we aren't going to concede a minimum of three and see pretty much the same script that was followed at Hillsborough last week. Roll on august

Hope you have a good trip down, you’ll get the normal idiots sitting near the away fans but VP is generally a good ground for away fans, most like it, and Rovers fans are well thought of by a lot of Villa fans. How you travelling down?

I think you would find the majority of grounded Rovers fans are expecting a drubbing. No doubt Mowbray will make a lot of our returning defenders being fit and how hard they have worked during the break but his stock has dropped alarmingly over the past couple of months and I don't really take too much notice of what he says. Scoring isn't a great problem for us but defensively we are shambolic.

Our best hope is if your players take note of the current form table and try to coast.

I was glad to see a form of natural justice after the cowardly attack on Grealish by the Big Club idiot. I cheered when he scored and loved his celebration.

It was a moment I think almost any real football fan would enjoy, I’m biased obviously but I thought he handled it remarkably well.

I’ve noted your defensive issues on the road, apologies but I hope they continue. In recent weeks we’ve been relatively free scoring and defensively quite solid since signings in Jan. We won 4 in a row pre international window so just hope we pick up from there.

Jack and McGinn are a real handful in midfield and Mings is a monster at the back. Full backs are probably our weak spot.

You're a gent, just my mate is a Villain, and he can give an update on their progress!

Happy to give my 2 pence as well if you wish.

Don’t think I’ve been on here since I dropped in to congratulate you on promotion. Sadly we screwed up the Play Off’s as I expected but on the upside we get a trip to Ewood and to host you guys.

Looks like you aren’t looking forward to the visit to VP?

They have sold over 5k according to some reports.

I have mates who are long time Villa fans, we have over the years had some great results against them however we have also had some beatings. Oh for the days of the Archibald era when we had a classic 3-2 win over them and they had a young lad called David Platt playing for them. The memories of that match will never be forgotten and rank alongside the many good memories over the ensuing years.

Some great games down the years and a fair few shared players like the legend Sid Cowans.

Villatalk is very pro Rovers.....or more accurately anti Brum.

We are very anti Small Heath that is for certain but Rovers are actually well liked quite separate to the hatred for our unwashed knuckle dragging neighbours.

Ewood is one of the favourite away days, certainly one of mine and that is also a factor in our following tomorrow. But honestly you may well find the away end is a home end cheering you on.

Enjoying the love-in cos we have a decent away fan posting. :D

I disliked Villa for several seasons but that's only because we kept drawing them in the FA Cup ever season for about 5 years! (At least it felt like it).

You mean kept being knocked out of cups by us ;) (sorry couldn't resist, you can let me have that one)

We are currently less than the sum of our parts. Talented individuals but not really clicking as a team.

We have are terrible at scoring goals largely due to the fact we rarely retain possession but we don't concede many at all these days.

We are poor away from home and with nothing to play for I don't see that changing.

Asfor how many we are bringing, 5600 sold so far but expecting to sell a further 1300.

fully expect Birmingham to follow suit on Saturday (they must have some quality as they were top 6 contenders before they bought in Zola).

    Actually, they don't really.

Their position under Rowett was false and couldn't have been sustained, they were only ever well organised, defensive and difficult to play against.

Zola removed all that and they are currently on a run on 2 wins in 24 games.

Yesterday they were better organised than they have been and probably a little more confident but still lacked any real quality.

Have a quick read of the one man destroyed our club thread and you will see in a nutshell, why the fans see the relegation as inevitable. Without wanting to sound rude, fans at other clubs, don't have a clue what has really gone on at our club. Spread this amongst your fellow Villa fans, as this should not be allowed to happen and could still happen to another club at any time.

Already read it and fairly clued up on Mr Anderson etc...

I used to come on here a lot when we were both in the PL.

I agree it shouldn't but it will, the FA does nothing to protect clubs for the fans. I predict problems at Wolves in the future....

Just looked at our pre-match thread, looks like as I suspected a lot will be hoping you prevail.

(no offence taken by the way I know exactly what you meant)
