  1. Was you at ewood on saturday? Lucas Neill was awful - his distribution has been poor and he looks dodgy. The 1st few games he looked alright but lately hes been crap. Zurab however has looked solid as a rock, as do nelsen & todd, so why not play all 3 at the back. Afterall Zurab is a full back.

Maybe it would be a wake up call to Neill

I was at Ewood and he wasn't awful. We kept a clean sheet, so obviously the defence did their job.

Todd hasn't been at his best this season, so bringing him back in and putting Zurab at right back would weaken the centre of defence.

    Why change a winning team?

  2. Defence – Drop Neill. Play Zurab @ right back, Todd & Nelsen in the middle & mickey gray at left back.

You come out with some crap! Why drop Neil when he's been outstanding this season bar getting sent off, and the defence has looked as solid as ever. Apart from swapping Reid with Savage no one else in the team has done anything to deserve being dropped.

    Brad

    Neill

    Gray

    Khizanishvilli

    Nelsen

    Bently

    Savage

    Tugay

    Pedersen

    Dickov

    Bellamy/Kuqi

    Subs: Mokoena, Emerton, Jansen, Enks

  3. can anyone count how many hamstring injuries Rovers had undeer sourness and co ?

yet agin another nufc strikes with the dreaded hamstring injury ohmy.gif

Hope shearer and own dont chase the long ball biggrin.gif

At one time or another I think all our midfield had hamstring injuries and I think Cole may have had one?

Can Souness and his training staff not recognise that there is someting wrong with their training techniques?

Ah well, not our problem anymore thumbs-up.gif

  4. According to BBC Fulham have had 55% of possesion. How can Newcastle's 'Top 6' outfit be over-run by a team as poor as Fulham?!

If we beat Newcastle next week and they don't score i'd lay plenty of money on Souness being sacked.

  5. I thought we played well tonight, pity we only managed a draw in the end. I didn't see MotD, but IMO Neil's first challenge wasn't worthy of the a yellow, just a good hard tackle and got the ball.

Why oh why does Savage insist on taking free kicks and corners? MGP is a million times better, yet Savage insisted on taking a number of free-kicks. He has no power in his set-pieces unlike MGP who is as good as anyone in the PL at striking a dead ball. mad.gif

  6. If Mokoenna is fit and Jansen isnt...

    Friedel

    Neill  Todd Nelsen  Matteo

    Mokoenna

    Emerton  Reid  Svage  Pedersen

    Kuqi

    subs...encks, tugay, gresko, gallagher, Johnson

If hes not and jansen is...

    Friedel

    Neill Todd Nelsen Matteo

    Emerton Tugay Savage Pedersen

    Jansen Kuqi

    Subs...encks, reid, gresko, gallagher, Flitcroft

If they are both fit, formation 1 with Jansen on bench ready to revert to 4-4-2 if needed

    If they are both injured...

    Friedel

    Neill  Todd  Nelsen  Matteo

    Flitcroft

    Emerton  Tugay  Savage  Pedersen

    Kuqi

What's Reid done to deserved to be dropped? Emerton should be the 1st player to be out of the team after yesterdays performance. Also Flitcroft isn't up to the PL anymore.

  7. No I was just sat right in front of it....

I think in a spontanious action such as celebrating a great goal any words coming from his mouth would be in his native Turkish, but obvious you feel differently, and have used you lip reading prestige to notice something I haven't.

    Well done.

To be fair it did look like he was saying **** off on the replay shown at the game. I don't think they showed it on MotD.

  8. As thenodrog said before 4-5-1 does seem to suit our players a lot better than 4-4-2. After thinking about it more and reading other people's posts when Bellamy gets back and if Hughes can persuade him, we should move him out to the right instead of Emerton and maybe have him and MGP drifting in to help Kuqi.

By doing this we can switch quickly from 4-5-1 to 4-3-3.

I think there was link there was a link on here a couple of weeks ago about how a game is won and lost during the switch of possesion and how quickly a team transfers from attack to defence. If we can get the ball moving quickly out of defence, which hopefully Tugay will help with, we should score a lot more goals.

  9. I thought Kuqi played well today considering he was up on his own, won plenty of headers against Knight who is absolutly massive. Needs to work on his 1st touch though. He knocked it about 6feet in front of himself most times.

Neil was excellent as most people have said, and so was MGP.

The all round play was good from the team except for Emerton. He didn't bring anything to the team today, he just lost the ball and was reluctent to run at players (makes a change). IMO he has at the very most two games to prove his worth to the team or else he should be dropped then push Reid out on to the right wing.

  10. Just got back from the test. Had a quality time, the atmosphere under the replay screen where we were sat was amazing. Never been to a proper test match before but definatly want to go again. 8 hours of entertainment for a tenner, you can't argue with that!
