Motorhead have pulled their tour again (first November and now February). Lemmy clearly isn't a well guy. This is a band I've followed since 1980! Saw them for the first time at KGH in 1984 and nigh on every tour ever since.
Could be the end of an era. Not everyone's cup of tea obviously but like the Rovers they've been a constant for most of my years. Gutted!
I am gutted too! Followed them since 1977's Motorhead single (and Hawkwind before that). Hope Lemmy pulls through. Aftershock is Motorhead back to their best so there is some hope.

Went to the Dylan gig Saturday. He did come on around 7:40 and there was a congestion getting to the seats! Fantastic gig, Bob was definitely in good form. Just to be picky, and it's not just Dylan, why do some artists feel the need to re do some of the older songs? I like Tangled up in blue like the 1974 version! Also there was no interaction with the crowd. This is being picky! I came out feeling in awe that i had just seen a legend and he did some great songs! You will enjoy Gav!

Off to see Bob Dylan on Sunday in Blackpool, I wonder if he'll be going on the pleasure Beach before the gig
I still cant believe he's is coming to Blackpool
Hope you enjoy Bob. I am going Saturday but have heard some mixed reports of what Dylan is like live.

Saw Michael Schenker - Temple Of Rock last night at 53 Degrees. Dad rock at it's finest! Ears still ringing.
-
Saw Rival Sons at 53 Degrees on Monday. Fantastic!
-
Saw Jack White at the Empress Ballroom last night - fantastic. All female band (The Peacocks) who were superb, and he played stuff right through his back catalogue from The White Stripes, through the Raconteurs and Dead Weather to his solo stuff. Great venue too, looked to have been done up since last time I went. Great night all round!
+100 yea it was a great gig! Missed the support though.

Went to see Jack Bruce last night at Warrington Parr Hall. Great gig. Did quite a few Cream songs. He does look his age though!

Another day and I'll have finished The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. The first of his Millennium Trilogy. Books two and three had been on our bookshelf for several months, bought for my wife by her sister. Strange that she never sent us book one, I thought but never mind, started to read them in that order before being told that our lad had taken book one a few weeks ago. Doesn't matter at all. There's a connection between books two and three but book one is more of a stand alone. Haven't been able to put any of them down. I've read quite a bit of Scandinavian Crime Fiction, mainly in Norwegian rather than English but this trilogy beats the rest hands down.
Stieg Larsson did write a great trilogy. I am currently enjoying Jo Nesbo's books. They are about detective Harry Hole. They are excellent and if you like crime stories you will not be dissapointed.

Me too. Gong including Steve Hillage, and Nik Turner supporting, it'll be quite a strange night!
What a fantastic gig!

Going to see Gong on friday! I think i am showing my age!

Blackburn King Georges Hall. Friday 12th November. Delighted!
I'll be there! I just hope Lemmy sleeps in a bed the night before!

Sick of feeling disappointed by most offerings from the cardboard cut out bands recently, I decided work my way through the top albums of all time according to Rolling Stone magazine.
I'm on Van Morrison, Astral Weeks at the moment. Fantastic
Some fantastic albums here! But wot no Hawkwind!!!!!!!!!!!!

What do you mean Bomber was terrible? They all sound the same anyway!
Ha HA! :

.whilst we're on about bands that no one likes anymore (or ever did) we (the breadknife and I) took in Motorhead, The Damned and Girlschool at the Manc Apollo 4 weeks ago. Absolutely top notch.
I went to this gig. I thought Lemmy was not up for it! Bomber was dreadful! There was a news report the day before that he had been found in a shop doorway in Glasgow asleep early morning. Frankly it showed! Motorhead the year before were fantastic! Sorry to disagree with you!

Saw the Stranglers at 53 degrees. Very good, played quite a few album tracks. The support act was entertaining to say the least!
-
Very sad day. RIP

Going to see pueressence on friday. They supported Depeche Mode last month in Greece!
-
Went to see Hugh Cornwell at the Manchester Academy 3 last night. He was fantastic. Played all the new album with some old Stranglers stuff. Should be more popular than he is.
-
Motorhead last night, were Awsome! My ears are still ringing!
-
Motorize the new Motorhead album is fantastic. Can't wait to see them at the Appolo!

Just read "The Gone Away World" by Nick Harkaway. Mainly set in the future but also talks about how they got there, from a village to war with bombs that make people go away, with an awful side effect. Fantastic read. However if you are reading it on a sun lounger then do some weight training first! It is a heavy book.

anyone got the new Paul Weller album ?
Its the best thing he has done in years
-
On wednesday i saw Robert Plant at Manchester Apollo. OK if you like Hillbilly music! However he did a fantastic version of Battle of Evermore. Worth the admission price alone! Thursday i saw Paul Weller in Blackpool. Back to form! I would still like to hear some more of The Jam stuff though! Great version of "All you need is love " at the end.
