Ricky Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Blackburn Rovers progressed to the quarter finals of the FA cup last night after a hard earnt 1-0 win over Arsenal. Benni McCarthy struck the decisive goal after coming on as a late substitute for Shabani Nonda. Fellow substitute David Dunn picked out Benni with a fantastic 50 yard pass before Benni completely wrongfooted Senderos and hit an unstopable strike into the top corner of Almunia's net. It was a night when Mark Hughes' men had to stand up and be counted, and the impressive Chis Samba did just that. The man mountain tamed Baptista, the so called beast, with a classy display alongside Ryan Nelsen. The Peter Jackson Man of the Match went to Samba with the Sky team nominating Ryan Nelsen, few could complain with either selection. Arsenal fans will point to their injury list but southern based fans and media alike should remember that Rovers visited the Emerites Stadium with no less than 7 first team players missing. We had a game plan and executed it perfectly. Wenger has been referred to as the master tactician in the past, well look out Arsene there's a new boy in town. Hughes has gone about his business quietly and assembled a team capable of even better things. Hold on to your hats guys, it could be a rollercoaster ride.
