Veevs Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 If a player buys out the remainder of his contract... (has to be over a certain age and in the last year of his contract).. Does that make the player available as a none contracted player therefor able to move outside of the transfer window? Just slightly curious on this one.. I thought it might be a sneaky way to get round the transfer window thingy

LeChuck Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I don't think so because that player will still be registered to the original club for the duration of that window, contract or no contract. Players available after the window are those that weren't registered to any clubs when the window shut. And...I'm not really sure it needed it's own topic, it's a 'quick question' as you say, it would have been at home in any of the topics where transfers are being discussed.
CrazyIvan Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 The player has to be released by his club and become a free agent to be available outside the transfer window.
