spencey7 Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 What was the media's vested interest in branding us 'dirty'/'bully boys' etc under Hughes? WE WERE! Remember Andy Todd? He could have taken a machete onto the pitch and done less damage. Fortunately Hughes had a long-term plan to build the good side which we eventually became, hard but fair. For a while though it was absolutely ludicrous, and we were doing exactly what the papers said we were - fouling players needlessly and putting in meaningless, stupid hard challenges just to intimidate teams. It's a fact. We still tried to play football though... So to be clear - You think the media is determined to run down Blackburn Rovers Football Club?

cletus Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 smooth silky football would be nice, but i`d much prefer a 'dogs of war' & 'spill your blood' for the team attitude. Everybody loves a Dennis Bergkamp type player, but just as many people love a Colin 'head in where it hurts' Hendry. Give me 38 brutal 1-nil wins everytime
