Kelbo Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Whatever changes to the laws of the game, the coaches will find a way round it. The backpass was scrapped, so we get our keepers to work more on kicking so it isnt really a problem now. The offside rule was changed so you must be technically interfering with play, so the ploy was to leave one in an offside position and as the ball is played through, he holds his hands up and walks back (not interfering) the defence stops and another player bursts through and scores. What do you think the coaches will do if they scrap offsides altogether? Deeper defending, sweeper, bypass midfield or play the ball more on the floor through midfield, deeper defending would give acres more space in midfield. Wider play to stretch defences or would we have a keeper and two players constantly on the goal line to protect the goal? One things for sure, coaches and managers will find a way round it so we go back to square 1 and then whats the next change? Lets get ex players from all FIFA countries on a panel, have a proper vote from proper football people and get rid of Blatter completely.

yoda Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 I think the off side rule should carry out a pre-emptive 1st strike and scrap Sepp Blatter.
ultrablue Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 It's been announced that any chance of goal-line replays (I hate the use of the word 'technology', we've had slow mo for decades!) has been ruled out by some blokes in Zurich.... Immediately there was a clear case in the Portsmouth v. Brum game where the 4th official could have made the right decision in about 30 seconds. Story My patience with football's out of touch cronies is wearing very thin indeed.
