It amused a couple of us, and frankly, that's all I care about.

Longevity is the key to the all time greats in my opinion. Messi will no doubt get there but can he perform at the highest level for a decade like some of the greats have done? I expect he'll have no problem doing just that and could well go down in history as the greatest ever. I don't think he has to beat Pele's record to be considered better but I can see where he's coming from.

Without a doubt he's one of the best players I've seen in my era.
