footypix Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Preston North End (1) v Blackburn Rovers (6) Rovers Ladies thrashed local rivals Preston North End 6-1 in the Women's Premier League Cup. The win puts Scott Rogers team in pole position at the top of the group, before the final game away to Manchester City. Rovers went 1-0 up at the break with a goal from top scorer Danielle Sheen. A Penalty from England U19 midfielder Lizzie Ince put Rovers clear just after half-time. Rovers took complete control when PNE captain Sarah Berry was sent off for two yellow cards. Two goals from Nichol Forster and another from record scorer Katie Anderton put the game out of sight. Clara Cleworth pulled a goal back for North End. Rovers sub, Keeleigh Savage rounded off an outstanding week with the 6th The win takes Rovers unbeaten run to 11, as the team prepare for the trip to London for the FA Women's Cup 5th round tie.
