AllRoverAsia Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I'm running it on Firefox 14.0.1 and all my OS are 'real' - the site is awful.

ChrisyG Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 It looks far better in IE9 than Chrome. IE9 uses font smoothing by default. The font used is a free Google font (called Prata) whereby you can import the font file for the website without needing a licence for it. Some font licences can cost several hundred pounds. (See... Google are surely a member of the New World Order, subtly giving out free goodies in exchange for your private information). I don't know what the people who built this website were thinking. It's so dependent on the user's browser for processing the 48 Javascript segments and loading external resources that the site is almost unusable unless your browser has cached it. The old site was crap for (free) content so in actual fact I think this magazine/brochure look they've gone for is more suited to me. But it's damn slowwwwww. I agree, it's a poor piece of web design. I find the font choice bizzare. The website is also coded in HTML 5, which isn't yet fully supported in all browsers. I like the Everton and Chelsea websites - much more pleasing on the eye! http://www.chelseafc.com/ http://www.evertonfc.com/home/
