  1. Because if terry is making a genuine attempt to play the ball, then it's not a foul, they are just getting in each others way if you see. His arm is "limp", if you see what I mean, in that top picture, it is not holding him down, it is straight out. It's not a foul, I'm a striker (watch out I'm looking to get somewhere with this) and if that goal was taken away from me, I'd be miffed.

the problem is that Ricardo is a goalie.

And laws are very clear on that

The goalie can't be pushed or prevented from jumping.

  2. I know most of you don't understand the text, but I think the pictures should speak for themselves. Last time I checked, what Terry is doing there is a foul

But the Norwegians are probably in on the conspiracy, the pictures are doctored etc.. am I right?  rolleyes.gif

The ball is already in the net when that picture is taken, watch the replay and Terry's eyes.

    See all the photos please!!

And what do Terrys' eyes have to do with it?

  3. True, we haven't won anything yet. It would be strange to win the championship in the quarter finals rolleyes.gif

Besides, I wasn't refereing to you winning the 66 title but to the way Portugal was treated in that world cup.

And maybe we just know that it's one step at a time and that there are other teams that have the quality to win it.

Don't know if that is so bad!!!

  4. Poverty can make anyone desperate. To bad it had to be a Ukrainian since I am part Ukie. I hope it does not give hooligans the opportunity to start fights with Ukrainian soccer fans in August.

i'm ashamed to say that some portuguese people has taken advantage of some immigrants.

They work and sometimes don't get paid.

    I hate that. mad.gif

C'mon Abs, we're all narked off at the moment, but that's no way to talk to a lady. It ain't the Portuguese fault the ref was bent (but if there are any Swiss on the board, be prepared to get an earful)

I think they're hiding at the moment laugh.gif

2ND OPINION WHAT DOES SHE EXPECT COMING ON AN ENGLISH BOARD AND GLOATING.....ROSES????

sorry but you may as well say that no one can have an opinion. mad.gif

  6. According to reports, the Ukranian man had tried to steal Stephen's wallet, who pushed him away. Minutes later he returned and stabbed Stephen through the heart.

It was reported in today's Daily Telegraph that some England fans had earlier complained to police about the attacker, but officers had dismissed their concerns.

    Strange...

Some english supporters that witnessed the killing, said that the ukrainian guy was around there for a while and that he stole a wallet from other english fan, Steve caught him and he was stabbed by the ukrainian guy.

  7. 2-1 for Portugal

Both teams are playing better but both still have a lot to prove.

we don't have the strike powe you have, specially since Pauleta cannot play and the only striker on the bench will be Helder Postiga.

However, our defence is working better and the midfield is quite powerful.

  8. to the portugal fans on here

Yes You have had a good team, you have a decent manager but your observations on how England might perform are misjudged.

We have not played the best football yet, we are improving and on a steady roll.

Portugal have no defender to cope with the power and pace of Rooney, not even Couto can cope with him. I forsee dirty tactics employed as really the only threat I see is ruud van nistlenoses diing partner cloonaldo.

England will have done the homework and will be fully prepared.

I expect total revenge for euro 2000 when the Portuguese ruined my first week in Corfu !

    2-0 England it is rolleyes.gif

You are right... It will be hard for Couto to cope with rooney... He is on the bench laugh.gifrolleyes.gif

Both teams are growing, performing better.

It will be a quite even match. probably decided in the midfield fight.

  9. Portugal are a better team than people have given them credit for; the first game against Greece was an abberation and since Scolari started putting his faith in youth over experience with Ronaldo and Deco they have been clicking up through the gears quite nicely. Like England they are generally much better in attack than defence, which should make for an exciting quarter final on Thursday. Of all the teams in Euro 2004 I would say that the Portuguese are closest to England in terms of overall team ability. Much will depend on Lampard and Gerrard's ability to combat the extra opponent in midfield, and whether or not we can prevent Figo from pulling the strings.

Actually I think our defence is getting better.

In the attack, we lack solutions to the opportunities we create.

Pauleta can't play so Nuno Gomes will be in the starting line up.
