I dont think that the old and ageing Portuguese can cope with an England team that is gathering momentum at a very quick pace. granted they have quality up front but at the back they are wide open.
Sorry to tell you but we don't have such a old squad.
Last starting 11:
Ricardo - 28
Miguel - 24
Ricardo Carvalho - 26
Jorge Andrade - 26
Nuno Valente - 29
Costinha - 29
Maniche - 26
Deco - 26
Luis Figo - 31
Cristiano Ronaldo- 19
Pauleta - 31
They are all experienced.

Great game.
England played really well.
I wish we would only met in the final...
-
On my friendlies, I usually rest my best players.
How many players has your squad?
I only have 19. Had to sell some cheap due to financial problems.
How do you make a good transfer?
-
I also have a team.
For four months now.
Finished third this season!
Buckley FC (83278)
I'm on the portuguese league, 6th division
I'll try to go up next season!!
Maybe we could do a rovers fans cup!!
-
The Deco deal was confirmed by himself.
He just didn't mention values.
Thought the Gerrard deal.
-
Yes...
England didn't play that well today!!!
-
Great match today!!
Great victory!!
England did a balanced the game. Managed well the result.
Rooney was definitely the best player. And there were people that said he shouldn't go
-
It depends on how quick he was to get out of there
I guess there are always innocent by-standers when something like this happens.
I'm just not sure everyone was innocent.
On a different note, a english lady drove around like mad around albufeira.
She was arrested later. She was completely drunk!!

Payton in Portugal
So that's why the trouble started.
don't even know who the guy is but it is an interesting perspective.
The "we weren't doing anything" theory!!

Have any of you seen the documentary "Bowling for Columbine" by Michael Moore?
At some point, he asks a reporter how they choose the biggest story.
The answer: " if it bleeds, it leads"
~
Guess english media do the same.
It was probably, like most of the 'documentary', staged, but the point is a good one.
probably that scene was also staged.
American media always look for the violent crime and forget other important issues.

i'm just making the same point you did, trying to be as ironic as you.
What does Portugal crimes have to do with the Euro?
-
wtf?
what do you want Uefa to do?
If so called english football fans cause problems, is it other people to blame?
Whether you like it or not, this is football related. Every year, lots of english turists go to Albufeira and nothing happened till now.
Don't tell me there is a world wide conspiracy against England...
Reazonable people here know that 99,9% of english fans are good people that like football.
Btw, some of them are already going back to england.

Excellent news! Fair enough he is the wrong side of thirty but then there is no transfer fee. We can go back in for MGP or whoever later. I suspect if Matteo signs for a minimal fee as well it would clear the way for Butt to come in.
Good dealing Souness
I would prefer we spend the money we have in a quality central defender.
-
He was a good player.
Let's see if he still has it.
-
One way to avoid this is for people to take individual responsibility for their actions and to stay away from trouble.
Spot on.
exactly my point.
If someone makes a fool out of himself, let him take responsability.
-
Italian also have a big problem with hooliganism at club level and they didn't create any problem.
I'm just talking of what i've seen here
-
Actually, english fans were praised after the game against France.
In that day, there was only a small incident with some french supporters ( don't know who's to blame on that day).
I just came from Porto and the atmosphere was great there. Didn't notice anything!!
But even if something happened, maybe the difference is that dutch and german don't react as a whole.
If someone messes up, it's is fault and you shouldn't defend him just because he is from your country.
I think english people do that a lot
*runs and hides before people react*
-
I only saw the news today.
Can't really tell what happened. But this night was worse.
I've been to that place many times during summer and it's always full with english people and nothing bad happens.
This time, the fans are probably more dangerous but the police is being too strict.
There have been loads of fans drinking everywhere and so far nothing more was reported.
Detained is for questioning... if if there is any reason for it, that person is arrested and possibly deported.
-
No big problems so far!!!
AndyC, will you be in Porto tomorrow?
Me, Mushy and Waggy will meet tomorrow in porto centre.
I already met Mushy today. Great guy.
Even took a photo with BRFC flag
-
Barthez was already there when he shot.
If Beckham did it right, he would have shot to the other side.
That's the diference!!
-
The penalty wasn't THAT bad, if anyone's to blame it's Gerrard and Heskey - plus perhaps James. Heskey for making a totally unneccessary freekick, James for letting Zidane steering it in the corner excellently, and Gerrard for messing up COMPLETELY in the end.
Beckham completely missed the penalty!!
Barthez was already falling to the right side when he shot the ball.
-
Michael owen was away all the game as well!!
Rooney was very good. Campbell too. Lampard as well. Portuguese comentators said they were the best english players.

I first said that England would get to semifinal.
Sorry to tell you but you won't get there.
