  1. Good work lads.

As a PR student, I am amazed at the lack of PR activity from the club. I am itching to get in there and strutt my stuff laugh.gif

One thing I agree with is transport. When I was staying in Darwen, I only knew where the stadium was after driving past it in a Taxi from Blackburn Station. I ended up walking to the ground as I, obviously an international supporter, had no idea about local transport. I ended up almost getting in to trouble in the form of some unsavoury Wolves supporters.

Here in Brisbane we have free council buses that transport supporters of both the Brisbane Broncos and Brisbane Lions Australian Rules team from the CBD direct to the ground. This is something that should be looked at. My geography of the area is not great and they may already be running, but maybe buses from the station, city centre and an areas such as Darwen, Preston etc.

I also wouldn't mind seeing the overseas supporters being embraced more by the club. The main reason for my holiday to the UK, apart from shagging all your birds, was to see Rovers. I was involved with the overseas members club, run by Barbara McGhee, but as stated by somebody once before, I would never of known this existed if I hadn't of seeked it out myself.

  2. You ask who cares? That tells me everything that I have felt about some of the present generation is unfortunately and sadly true. No sense of morality or understanding of right and wrong, or caring for the feelings of other peopleat all. And the saddest part of all is that, as with the author of the above they obviously do not feel they have done anything wrong or even realise the effect their actions have on others. My advice to those who think this way is take a long hard look at yourself and get your head in order before it is too late.

The present generation? These types of chants have been around for years. Unless you're jim and count people of the last 50 years as "present generation" laugh.gif

  3. "Jansen, where`s your helmet?"

chants about Keegan getting batted in that lovers lane

    Turkish players getting booed (tugay)

    Argies getting booed

    Songs about Flitcrofts extra-marital activities

    Munich 58

    Hillsborough

    Heysel

    Bradford fire

    Jack Walker dying

    Pineapple heads

    ....i could go on.

It`s football, it`s life. These type of un-PC chants have been around for years. It`s what they call banter. It`s designed to put players out of their stride/off their game/or just plain ripping the p1ss. Granted, the Cisse chant was in bad taste, but it`s no worse than a lot of things i`ve heard over the years. Blackburn fans don`t have a bad reputation......infact they don`t even register in most football fans minds, because we are seen as a small club, with a poor support.

get over the chant & move on...... thumbs-up.gif

  4. A little bit of over-reaction on here if you ask me - Newcastle had three shots on target - for me that says it all. For the vast majority of the match we were the better team

The initial goal - somebody says it was defo a free kick - then why 10 minutes later when Boumsong did exactly the same to Bellamy didn't we get a free kick ?

4-5-1 for me the jury is out - if we had taken our chances, and had a little more luck we would have won with something to spare - and the discussion wouldn't even be raised.

However - Bellamy and Kuqi (for me) would be an ideal front two. Yes Kuqi will never be a true premiership finisher - but he is quick for a big man and will deflect a lot of attention away from Bellamy to gain him additional space.

Unlike a lot of people on here - and I am still fairly optimistic. Bellamy isn't fully fit - but still showed flashes of the pace that will make a huge difference to the team. Nelsen looked unbeatable for large parts of the match, Friedal has signed a new contract.

Yes, we got beat - but by the better team - hardly. Results like this can sap moral - it is down to Hughes to raise moral again. It is imperative that we put Huddersfield to the sword - as United away doesn't hold much hope beyond a battling draw.

    Exactly right.

  5. I graduated today at 2.30. I don't know about my fellow graduates, but I felt anything but joyous.

A truly terrible act, the vulnerability of the Western world is all to real. These

f**king lunatics see us all as targets, no matter what our religious beliefs, political convictions or social class.

    Tragic.

    Agreed.

    Congratulations anyway mate.

  6. Hmmm, a win at 'backyard cricket' and the Ashes are yours. And you guys have a go at Australians and their egos.  laugh.gif

But you know as well as I do that, had the Aussies beaten us, all you convicts would have been rushing on here to crow about how you're the greatest.

In reality yesterday's win means next to nothing when determining who's going to win the Ashes. What it does do though is just put another little chink in the Aussies "invincible" reputation. England have now won the last three matches against the Aussies and our confidence is growing with each win.

England are already a good team. Give them confidence, show them that the Aussies are beatable, and who knows how good England could be this summer.

Not really a cricket follower nowdays, but would like to see the English win the Ashes.
