  1. Too early to say but one is outstanding at junior level. Will need to wait a few years to see the benefits of being with the Academy, if they stay there.

We have quite a number of good players and have won just about everything in the area so I guess its only a matter of time before we lose more of them to the professional clubs.

At some matches there are more scouts than supporters wink.gif

  2. Excuse me but what has this to do with Rovers? Unless of course he is Hughes' next transfer in.

What an idiot you are. You can't talk Rovers 24/7, there'd be nothing left after about an hour. It is a football forum. This story is genuinely interesting and could have some dire consequences.

I may be an idiot but I am currently coaching two youngsters who have just been signed for the Rovers Academy.

Now that I consider to be more relevant than some player I've never heard of who happens to be interesting two clubs I have nothing to do with.

Sorry, but we could all raise topics about other players or clubs but they don't have any room on this board.

  3. Cant wait for Friday night in Cardiff in anticipation of the game drinking with.... real..... Rovers fans having a good time burning cash we dont have, but building long lasting memories instead of staying in dreary Lancashire with those those boringly dull descendents of the cotton weavers.

At least the true genuine fans will be their - committed to the cause supporting the Rovers!

And who are you descended from, Jal? If I may ask?

How dare you have a go at the people of Blackburn! They are the ones who have made our club what it is.

No, Blackburn Rovers are not a world beating outfit but a club that has pride in what it does and serves the people who support it as well as it can.

I'll wager you weren't one of those around in the 70's and 80's when the club was almost on its knees and when more than one descendant of Blackburn put their money where their mouth was so that idiots like you could have a team worthy of the town and its folk.

So yes you have a great time in Cardiff but don't have a go at those who have chosen not to.

  4. Yeh and maybe if there were more concessionary tickets available people would be more inclined to take their families along. Instead most of us have had to think very carefully before we shell out £45 or £55 for little Johnny to come with us.

I am going to this game (with little Johnny) because I may not see us in another semi in my lifetime but that doesnt mean I have to bow down to the FA or the Club for giving me the privilege of doing so.

As far as I'm concerned the fans of both clubs have been treated disgracefully and should make their voices heard as loudly as possible.

  5. What Colin is getting at is that the semi finals are being built up by the FA as if they were the Final.

OK I don't believe they should be devalued but equally they are only semi's at the end of the day.

As for whingeing, well if people can't express their views freely on this forum then its not worth having.

  6. It's about time we put a positive spin on this thread :-

    1) It will be the largest non-final Rovers following to a game since the early 60's.

    2) Leicester City brought 7200 (not all the allocation) to Ewood in the last round. A one club city over twice the size of Blackburn brought half the following at half the price at half the travelling time at a half decent KO time .... and their fans were considered fantastic!!!!

    3) The 'daytrippers' wont be there to dilute the atmosphere.

    4) No Rovers fan in his right mind thinks we will get anything from this game .... and yet we are still taking more than Burnley's average home attendance over 200 miles at THOSE prices.

OK you've convinced me. I'm on the phone to the ticket office in the morning.

    Thats another 4 of us.

  7. I most certainly agree that no Rovers fan should be vilified for missing this match.

I think a lot of die hard Rovers fans are in a dilemna. They want to protest but also want to go to the game.

Yes its our first appearance in an FA Cup semi for 45 years but thats not an excuse for the Club or its fans to be messed around on the basis of TV schedules or profit.

In the end its an individual decision to make the trip or not, just as it was for the earlier rounds.

  8. No but when tickets are at a premium it should goto those who have put their money and support where their mouth is i.e those prepared to make 2 trips to cardiff........namely me biggrin.gif

IF we reach the final tickets will first go to season ticket holders as always. Can't see any reason for that to change simply because its the FA Cup Final.

One of the perks of being a season ticket holder

  9. Yeh, in front of those 9000 or so who went to watch us play Cardiff & Colchester.

Going to one cup match doesn't make you any more of a supporter than those who've been to matches in earlier rounds.

  10. The arrangements for this game are a joke from start to finish.

The FA, The Club, The Police and the TV companies are simply walking over us football fans and its time it came to an end.

Having just been quoted £90 for myself and my young son to go to this match (which I can afford) I am seriously considering giving it a miss.

Went to Old Trafford with a United fan and he's just been told that he's got to pay 25% more to renew his season tickets this time. He's seriously considering giving them up and seems that a few other fans are too.

  11. Not sure if this has been mentioned but with all the traffic problems on the roads why don't the club lay on a few special trains. (Like the good old days)

  12. The more I read and talk to fans of other clubs the more I think that the FA is heading for big trouble with these big games. Maybe in future the attraction of the New Wembley will redeem them but its about time they faced up to reality, there are limits to how much expense and inconvenience the average fan will put up with. Maybe it needs fans of a big club like Man U to make a stand on this.

OK many of us have spent far too much money and effort on supporting our team over the years but we do it because we like and enjoy it.

Once fans stop enjoying these occasions then the game as we know it will wither.

Time for the football authorities to realise this before their golden goose is dead.
