  1. Have to agree with you there PG. With Newcastle's dressing room in shambles at the moment, a complete prick as manager, and another as Chairman who the hell would want to go to Newcastle. Neill has seen first-hand how crap a manager Souness is and will hopefully avoid him like Souness avoids diplomacy.

  2. 5-1 victory with a personal best Solid (Very Low) central attack rating. Not bad for a team with a defensive coach. I should have a 12 star forward line in a matter of weeks (or next week if the damn form fairy throws a favour my way).

Thansk for the advice PG and BigA. I think I will sell around Brill/Mag as i'm getting a little tired of the constant 3-4-3 formations (and don't mention 4-3-3, I have only had bad experiences). Plus, I'm tired of losing to the other good team in my div solely on the basis of midfield.

Leftwinger: Splash out on some good wingers. They are cheap as chips and add a lot to your attack rating for very little money. Also solid strikers probably won't cut it for much longer, you'll want excellent+. Your defence and midfield look pretty good though. See if you can snag an experienced solid keeper at the end of the season (or failing that grab a YP keeper, they are dead cheap at the end of a season).

  3. Good to hear some of the newer BRFCS players are going well. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to send me a ht-mail (my team is Supine Rovers in Oceania).

Speaking of which, at what is a good level to sell forwards? They are all 19yo outstandings now with a couple to pop in the next two weeks. I realise that the market for strikers is down a bit at the moment but I don't plan on training them forever. I mean, i get passables in nearly everything but midfield and I want to switch to PM training soon. So BigA and PG and any others who want to venture an opinon, what do you reckon?

  4. and you northerners spoken english is of a high standard ?

    Darling Brummy Git

Is punctuation banned at the "University" of Central England or is it just you? Can anyone else there not construct a single grammatically-correct sentence or is it just you? Does anyone else there not bother to capitalise their sentences or is it just you? Can anyone else there fail to take a hint as to when they are NOT welcome or is it just you?

For the record, your criticism on "northeners spoken english" is like a guy with a broken leg telling me I walk funny.

    This is too easy.

    Sam

  5. just some friendly banter

the amount of crap i have had off you lot the past week or so what do u expect

i watched 2nights game and u looked pretty poor at home, anything that bypassed your midfield u seemed to struggle with and anything u pumped upfront was not capitalized on

I was going to go but one of your friendly members "abbey" persuaded me to hang around a bit longer

I came on your boards being nice and pleasant but instead got some stick so what do u expect

Hey buddy, could you please take your illiterate txt spk back to the Birmingham boards. We are ###### off and not interested in the opinions of a 13 year old ######-stirrer.

  6. "The final deal is likely to include a clause preventing Savage playing for Rovers when they visit St Andrew’s on April 30."

How stupid! He's a midfield grafter, hardly Thierry Henry is he?

    What Babies.

I agree. What a pansy move from those Brummy blouses. What are they worried about?

If we were as cowardly as they are we would have added clauses stipulating that Tiny, Dunny, and Yorke MUST play when Birmingham meet Blackburn rolleyes.gif

  7. What a shame yet another set of fans with " were realy a big club u know", weve got the perinail canditates spurs and newcastle know weve got Brum and Bolton, if u notice there is a pattern growing amonst these clubs - theyve all been starved of any succes

How can Birmingham be taken series as a big club, when they cant even attract 3% of the cities fanbase to watch them, theyve got less trophies than virtualy the whole of the prem, there are loosing there captain and best player to a club they deem inferior. they dont pay out big wages, there baord want to leave at the first chance, there stadium is only run-of the mill, they havent got a particually good academy need i go on , how the brum fans go around with this chip on there shoulder cause theyve been in the top Tier for a couple of seasons beats me

Bazza I like what you're trying to say and your views are very similar to my own but your argument would benefit with a bit of spell-checking and grammar revision. For starters "txt" speak is very much frowned upon on this board ("u" instead of "you" etc). Also when you are indicating the posession of something (any kind of noun) use the word "their", not "there". For example it is "Their board wants to leave at the first chance" not "there baord want to leave at the first chance". You should also make an effort to capitalise the first letter of each sentence.

Anyway I look forward to your next post/rant biggrin.gif.

  8. I'm waiting for the results from tonight, but I'm looking at finishing thrid, when only taking the team over in week 11. I was hoping to sell a few trainees first, but since they are upping the staduim costs, I'm going to have to splah into debt a bit now to save the increased costs later....

but the winger trainees should be up to snuff for sale sometime about mid next season.

    Good luck to all!

They aren't JUST increasing the stadium costs they are doubling them next season and then doubling them AGAIN the season after (check the latest hattrick announcement. So I'm going to increase my stadium again. Fortunately I can afford this at the moment.

Okie: Players don't get trained twice if they play twice in training positions in the same week (or were you joking, i couldn't tell)

  9. Well my goals for this season were as follows:

    1. Top 3 finish. ACCOMPLISHED. I finished third and it could have easily been first or second but for some bad luck towards the end of the season.

    2. Stadium to 35000. ACCOMPLISHED. I actually took it up to 40000 and am still considering upping it to 50000. Is it worth it?

    3. All trainees to formidable. ACCOMPLISHED. As of next training day all my trainees will be formidable with one at outstanding. To what level should i train them (strikers)?

    4. One decent youth pull. (unbelievably) ACCOMPLISHED. Had an 18yo sell for AU$2.8M.

So all in all a really good season.

BTW How is this? In the second last game i had a team unexpectedly and pointlessly MOTS me leading to an unexpected loss. I was then level on points but with a better goal difference then the third placed team. The team playing the third placed team then messaged me and said they were throwing their match and that i should expect third place as a result. And THEN the team i was playing in the final round, which should have been a walkover, finally fielded a team for the first time in weeks! (i still beat them with my B team, saving my A-team for Okie). Coincidence or bad luck?

Bad luck to PG but let's face it, with a bit of PM training you will be back in III in no time (and I'll still support you in IV tongue.gif ). It was really the only area on the field that you weren't dominating the opposition. Congrats to Big A and Okie for their solid performances as well. How'd you go American?

Oh and how much does a Utopian keeper usually go for Big A?

  10. Bought the following for 468K. I couldn't use transfer compare so was this a good deal or was it a ripoff. i bought him as a winger but he can pretty much play anywhere. The bad news is I'm down to second on goal difference and I will almost certainly not be able to retake top spot.

    22 years, inadequate form, healthy

A pleasant guy who is temperamental and upright.

Has wretched experience and solid leadership abilities.

    Stamina: inadequate Goaltending: disastrous

    Playmaking: passable Passing: passable

    Winger: solid Defending: passable

Scoring: weak Set Pieces: wretched Bought the

Just in a followup. I listed this player that i bought only three weeks ago, not because I wanted to get rid of him but because i thought i could make a fair profit on him and get something better. And i just snagged a bid for AU$900K on him biggrin.gif. Who overpaid now PG? (j/k)

  11. God I hate Birmingham, average manager, average players but hey they are such a "massive" club. Still, you'll get 3.5M pounds for Savage when you pry it from my cold dead hands.

But it does looks like they genuinely want Savage to stay. The latest story (here) has the Brummy Gits chairman saying the the door is ajar for Savage to retract his transfer request).

  12. Yo Okie...if you can afford to take a few TS hits early on I'm pretty sure the start of the season is a better time to sell than the end. I too am planning a mass clear out, mainly of inner mids, second string defenders and wingers and am planning to sell at the start of the season.

I also just did a calculation of my youth squad investmend vs return. I have spent AU$1 496 000 (34 Weeks x (AU$40000 investment + AU$4000 promotion cost)). I have YP sales of AU$3 431 000 making a profit of just under 2 million dollars! I can't believe i once posted a rant against the YP system.
