Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it's now safe to turn the TV off and enjoy your evenings.
Think this was pretty evident from around 11am this morning.

Think it is fair to say there will be no ins before 11pm tonight. Reading and listening through Mowbrays interviews. We were never 'in' for Assombalonga or Austin. These were offered to us at ridiculous prices which we have politely declined. Disappointing that we're not bringing anybody in but not the end if the world. Yes we're in a good position sitting a few points outside of the playoffs but is it worth smashing our wage/transfer bill on the off chance we will sneak in there? We have seen it happen to the like of Boro, Sheff Wed. Ridicilous wages and fees yet still in the division withe embargos etc...

Very good player and Young!
Brentford want 14 Million for him and already rejected 12. We would have no chance

Not heard anything else but from the above article it sounds like Waggott couldn't pull it off... gutted if so!
I'd still take Gallagher by all means but I still have a bit of hope for Assombalonga coming in.
I think Assombalonga will be a 3rd choice at best with the money that is involved in the deal. Everything brought into the press is for their side. Whether it be agents or club.

Likely destination for Assombalonga will be Bristol Cityas they are willing to pay the Boro want and match the wages he is currently on. Mowbray is clever enough not to enter a bidding war and put us at risk.

70% completed.
I can't believe it myself though. I'd be astounded if it happened
I'm 98% BA won't be joining Rovers. Would be fantastic but very very doubtful, the lad is earning £40,000+ at Boro

Very estabilished Premier League footballer, would be happy with him in the Prem. For the Championship i think he is more than good enough....
