  1. Wow! Designs for next years shirts are ot that we can choose, our sponsers for the next few years have been revealed, we have done the double on Ushited, Bentley got a hat trick AND our boss is touting Europe, not avoiding relegation as our goal.

    Am I dreaming?

Yeah, I sometimes think for a second I have logged into wrong club forum these days wink.gif

Hopefully they'll change the logo to fit the shirt better

  2. I can't be the only person wondering why Ipswich let a 20 goal striker go on a free?

Not wanting to go off topic, but Kuqis contract ran out, Ipswich offered him an improved one but he didn't want to sign, as he opted for a place in the PL. There wasn't really anything they could do about it.

As such, I think it's wrong to say they let him go on a free, it's not like the situation last year when we let Cole go on a free.

  3. In other words; In the end the supporters pay the whole party for him.

    That's true of any club.

    Of course I know that....

    However at which price?

By the way, I'm only writing what I know the case is amongst Scum supporters, it's not my concerns.

I'm actually enjoying this, funniest thing in footy since we played the dingles cool.gif

  4. Good point made by the Guardian that most people are ignoring:

"The only consolation for fans is that since Malcolm Glazer is in it for the money, he will surely have to keep spending enough of it to maintain and improve the club's performance in order to cash in on his worldwide marketing ambitions. If the club sinks down the league table, then so does United's brand value. As with football clubs everywhere, nothing succeeds like success."

Also, Glazer is a smart enough business man to not buy the team if it was going to be a money losing proposition. Sorry Philip, but I'd trust the financial acumen of a man who has made plenty of money on "bad" purchases (he spent $50 million over the odds for the Bucs, but they are probably worth double his original investment) than you.

That's not the whole point, American.

What the mancs are afraid of is, for Glazer to make money on this, that the tickets and everything associated with the "club" will be priced skyhigh.

Thus if he makes money on the club, it's because the supporters have had to spend more money.

He wont care if the true fans can't afford going to the matches, as there are plenty of tourists willing to spend half their travelling budget at Old Trafford.

Not to mention that they are more likely to be ripped off in the club store as well.

In other words; In the end the supporters pay the whole party for him.
