Hang on a minute. Wanting the club to get back to what it was is sad now, is it?

The bit in bold says enough for me. You're not alone, as those at the club seemingly don't give a damn about the Premier League either.

There has to be some sort of weird comfort in mediocrity and playing the victim. Poor Rovers, can't compete with the giants in the Championship, poor young lambs, can't put pressure on them, give 'em a chance. These nasty fans wanting to win are just bullies.

Remember what Mowbray said upon leaving? He hoped that the next manager wasn't a bully who just wants to win all the time. Since when is wanting to win a form of bullying? Is that what football has become these days?

This shit project we have isn't conducive to winning football matches and promotion. It's all about player development, giving minutes to Academy players. That's why there's anger from a few of us on here. This isn't a case of 'first or nothing bro', that's not the demand. They need to show us they are serious about going up, and at the moment they aren't and are about to waste a good few years more of our time.

I'm just sick of the attitude of writing seasons off, going on journeys that lead to nowhere and it just being brushed off as "oh well, young lads, they need time".

Once again taking out of context, you say that the team hasn’t shown anything to prove we are pushing for promotion, we are 7th!!! We are in the dam mix of clubs fighting for the play off so my comment about Top or nothing proves exactly that. It proves you are willing to throw your toy out of pram. Go pick them up and calm down, you are judging our entire season on 10 games I mean Jesus Christ taking the cups into account JDT is a far higher win ratio to Mowbray if you want to compare and contrast a whole performance after 10 games.

you are saying the club is happY with mediocrity, show me how you know this? Have you been on the board? Have you heard them say ahhhh guys let’s stay here for the next 15 years and chill. No you haven’t, inconsistencies happen in a dam season we are not the invincible’s. I have been to the two most horrendous away games being Luton and Reading so trust me I know first what it is to watch rubbish. Am I going to cry about it? No, I move on to the next game and expect a reaction. If we win we are back in the top six again. Give the man a chance see after half a season where are at, if you throw some toys I will order them for you To chuck out.

i what point did I say I didn’t want to win? Of course but judging by your comment and dreaming if you expect us to win the EPL and roll over Man City. This is 2022 not 1990’s and I totally respect and understand the history of our club, where it should be but by no means just because of our history we deserve to be in the EPL of course i hope We get back up but we have had a good start to the season when many predicted we wouldn’t let’s see where it goes a season is not 2 months long

17 year olds shouldn't be so integral to our side.  The others on the other hand should be looking to win every game.  Stop making excuses.

What excuses?! I just said the squad needs protecting and you are saying that is an excuse. There could be an eclipse tomorrow and if the moon didn’t cover whole sun I am sure you would spend the day arguing it should have done better 🤣. You picked one sentence from my whole text? Do I need to go through the squad age as to each player who has played? You are acting like we have a mature team filled of mid 20’s players.
Not excuse but mentally You are dealing with humans they are going to make errors and they are going to develop, are we going to be the finished product after 3 months with a new manager no. Not excuse just basic logical thinking that I imagine most people with common sense would relatively agree with

  3. I truly think it is a sad time when you read some of the comments on this board around expectation and demands based off our history and where we perceive ourselves deserving to be in the premier league.

perosnally I do not give a dam about the EPL because I actually enjoy the championship and the competitiveness it present compare fo other leagues in the world. Do I want us to go up of course I but comparing JDT comment and attitude to Mowbray is absolutely ridiculous. First of all these are two completely different projects. Yes I used the word project something we shouldn’t be afraid of using. Mowbray job was to rebuild and stabilise and like or not he did exactly that. JDT job develop young players and aim for the top end of the championship. From an average age perspective we have the youngest squad in the league. Not a rocket scientist but what has traditionally transpired with young squads is inconsistency. Furthermore to say he wasn’t backed is also rubbish as we are one of the few clubs thst have a positive net spend. Is JDT expected to be first and win every single game this season no. I myself totally understand the frustration I was at the Reading game and the Luton it is a horror, but it isn’t something that cannot be fixed. The team to me looks strong, the issue is the space between midfield and defence and lack of protection the midfield offer to the defence and control to slow it down.

give the lad some time to say they are worrying signs there Is normal in any dam season, i would actually be worried if I was Boro! But hey ho we are 7th I would take that right now given the games we have a played.

Last comment I read was about JDT not setting expectation, this is of course to protect the young team and remove pressure off them. Of course the club has targets imagine telling a 17 year old Philips bro it is first or nothing now go have a good game. We need to protect these young players and give them time. Diaz is an example, Arma another Buckley another we are on to something with these academy players let’s give them a shot and see where it takes us

Poor lad will be getting back in his car and going back Leicester, never seen so much grief over a possible signing.

This lad in link made £14 mill move this summer without ever playing a first team game, scored last night too.

Rovers fans have always been better Managers than the actual managers 😛

  5. Would be a sad day to see Diaz go especially after the journey we have been on with him the last couple of years. Delighted for him and his story is a wonderful one. Fair play to Rovers to say we have accumulated 30m in transfer sales across 2 players in 2 windows shows we are a good that knows how to develop individual talent and give them the platform to express their talent.

The money generated from this is vital. To me the defense at least at CB hasn't been my fear I think one addition will do. I do feel with Diaz gone it is now the chance to Dolan/Makanday to step up and fill the whole that will be very evident on the left hand side. To me, we need to add in a striker, creative midfielder, a LB, and Left wing before the end of the window.

Lots of work to do but if we can grab in a Styles, Heilik, Birmancevik, Healy I would consider that a good day at the office 🙂

  6. What a tough and exciting transfer window this will be. Not necessarily for the signings but the drama that is accumulating around the club due to the lack of signing. The Club has a huge 8 days left. To be honest, I think i feel like the midfield and attack is crying out for help. To me with SVDB coming in i wouldn't want another CB with Carter, Philips ,Ayala, Wharton there. It would start to look quite crowded and i actually rate all those CB. I would love to see us add some creative flair to the midfield someone to take the pressure off Buckley. We do need a winger so that we can play Gallagher up front. Would love Styles in and have Edun moved to midfield.

  7. I 100% agree with you Glen. I remain optimistic and very ouch agree with the term journey. I really don’t expect us to push on this season and push with promotion as we are so far away from that at this current moment in time. In truth our only creative player is Buckley but we need someone else in the squad who can unlock teams with that vital pass. Moment of creativity. I feel we are lacking 4 bodies in the team it is fine to bring through academy players and add value but it needs to be done progressively and not just in one. Am I worried as to where we are at? No simply because to me a good season is finishing mid table this year and building towards a challenge on the top side of the league in a year or two once we have a more stable and settled squad which currently we don’t have.

I thought he meant that too.

That’s how I interpreted it seems like anything is mentioned about Dack and this forum goes into meltdown. I would add when we won 4 games in a row the same people who are saying he should be getting games are the same one who said his career is over with us when we were winning. Changing directions quicker than a boomerang

  9. Well 3 days feels like a very long time in football. I think it is way way way too early to panic and freak out the transfer window is still open and players will come in.

the issue is the style of football that JDT is trying to implement requires flexibility within the squad and the ability to rotate. Klopp who does a high press frequently rotates his squad to ensure the players remain fresh. To me there is no doubt that the players already fatigue due to the demands this new style has. Personally, we do need new legs. I would argue someone like Pickering needs someone like Styles come in to allow Edun to fight for midfield. To me we desperately need someone to cover for Buckley. Bucko just seems knackered and slow to me at the moment. Dacks moment will come not worried about that. I felt like he was still not 100% fit. Smozdic no issue with him yet my main criticism he hasn’t had any service to be able to judge him on much.

  10. One defeat and by the sounds of the boards sounds like we are in a relegation battle, i need to prescribe some Valium and viagra 🤣😂.

JDT has been backed financially and the window isn’t over. Not ideal would love to have more signings in but they surely blocked for a reasons either fee out of budget or wages these things take time. One defeat isn’t the end of the world. We are first 9 points from 12 we weren’t going to be undefeated all season

I used to think he was a decent, solid enough championship player. I went to the game last night and that opinion changed and quickly.

He doesn't possess any pace at all and unfortunately doesn't have the football brain/ability to counter that, a la Salgado. Reading clearly had a plan to exploit that yesterday and other teams will too - Khadra on Saturday.....

Signing a LB must be a priority for us now.

Was at the game as well last night but for me Gallagher always tracks back and help out Brittain. pickering always ends up isolated he needs more help natural 2 vs 1 is going to be difficult to defend against.

  12. Tonight was bound to happen one day or another. I don’t blame the team it is very young. We had vale Dolan Philips Buckley all out there.

for me Buckley looks tired and didn’t do the basic, this is a game Wharton would have loved. Pickering needs to find his confidence and Brittain actually look alright.

i actually agree with JDT wrong decisions cost us. Whether it was the penalty on Philips/Edun or the failed pass from Diaz to Dack who was unmarked in the box, to no one closing Hoilett down.
hurts more that two ex rovers scored, and thst it was Ince.

we need more bodies and older bodies

  13. I find it sad that some of the comments on here are people are wishing ill of a 17 year old boy who could set up his family for life. He owes us absolutely nothing, nada, zilch, if we could all offer the same luxuries that he can with a move why shoudn't he do it? If we get 3m or so for an unproven youngster i would take no matter what he can do, you just don't know what can happen. Put a sale on clause and see what he can do.
