  1. any player without the requisite level of talent should never wear the rovers shirt.........unfortunately 11 of them are currently doing just that.

this squad make up is so frighteningly similar to what Bradford had when they dropped through all the divisions, Pompey as well no marks/leeches/washed up journeymen.

Unfortunately the similarity with Pompey is there for all to see

  2. Fed up with these self-important footballers. If I gave up football it would be a glorious thing to never be aware of these jumped up scrotes again. It's so infuriating.

If he's not whinging about South Africa picking players on reputation, he's whinging about not being selected for Rovers, or for not being allowed to leave.

All this whinging whilst he allows himself to get out of shape, flunks international duty, gets himself excluded from international squads, allows the interest from another club to destroy his game......aaaaaarrrghh!

I think it's best for my health not to think about McSulk and his £30k per week sulkathon.

the last 12 months all McCarthy seems to have done is sulk , pick his good wages up and get fat - wish he'd get a bit more hungry like his 1st season at Rovers

  3. You think the club haven't been looking at pricing policy? They aren't stupid, nor are they out of touch with the fans. They know tickets are too expensive.

FYI, JW sees his role at Ewood as that of a fund raiser. He sees Blackburn Rovers as a club who's sole intention is to get a football team onto the pitch. As good a team as is possible. Rovers are different to some clubs in that sense.

So to do that, he needs to maximise income from all areas, including ticket prices. Now if anyone has a formula that hasn't been tried, then email him, he's always ready to listen.

The truth to me, is that the club have tried just about every method of maximising income that they know. This season they're obviously trying to bring in more money from away fans. One things for sure though, if the way forward was to reduce prices, they would have done that. There's absolutely NO evidence that reducing prices will bring in more revenue.

Of course, they could reduce prices, but what would the fans think of lower league football again?

JW seeing his role as a fund raiser - well most of us on here would gladly like/take JW's role for a lot less than JW gets paid ! - is he not on an handsome salary of around £300K per annum or something similar ?

  4. I think our pricing structure should be changed.

It should be set out different like below:

Cat A = Teams that finished in top 6 last season (Or 7 if you were one of them)

    Cat B = Teams 7 – 14th from last season

    Cat C = 15th – 17th from last season + 3 new clubs.

Pricing should be the same all over the ground.

    Adults

    A+ = £25 (6 games = £150)

    A = £22 (7 games = £154 based on us finishing 6th)

    B = £17.50 (6 games = £105)

So total cost would be £409

Season ticket price set at £370 – Saving of a price of 1 Cat B game and 1 Cat A game. Aswell as 1 first cup match free in league cup.

Kids prices should be 1st child ST = £70

If you purchase a 2nd child ST it should be a reduced rate = £60

    3rd child £50 …… 4th child £40 and so on.

Therefore for 1 adult & 2 kids it would cost you £500 a season.

So based on the above prices Bolton Tickets would cost £22, City Tickets would of cost £17.50 – Now tell me we would of only had 18,000 on at that price. Not a chance. City would of sold there 8000 and we would of sold so more tickets.

1 of the best posts regarding ticket prices - totally reasonable pricing stucture !

  5. I must admit to being a little dissapointed that the players didn't really acknowledge the fans after the game. Savage applauded us from a little way away as did Gamst. Toogs came a lot closer and was greeted with a rapture of "turkish delight".

I thought hughes' would have sent them all over to be honest. We deserved it.

TOTALLY AGREE - WE SPENT HARD EARNED CASH TRAVELLING OVER THERE AND MOST OF THE TEAM DIDNT ACKNOWLEDGE US AT THE END - MAY BE THEY THINK ITS ABOVE THEM AS THE GAP BETWEEN FANS AND PLAYERS GROWS .

  6. Making Wigan at home a Category A game is totally ridiculus. Last year they bought around 2k, this year with the premiership novalty having worn off, they will bring barely that (although might be offshot slightly by the fact the game aint on sky this year).

Perhaps an interesting indication on how many tickets Wigan expect to sell is the fact that our official site, it says we have allocated Wigan the whole Darwen End, whereas on the wigan site it says 1,400 tickets!

In reality, there are only 2 games that should be category A+ and that is Man u and L'pool at Ewood. As for the others, it would depend if the game was on sky, if it was midweek, if it was sat 3pm etc to whether Man city, N'castle, chels, arse and Everton would be Cat A. All the rest would be cat B

ITS PROBABLY HOW MANY THEY'LL BRING -IF THEY SELL THOSE THEY WILL THEN RELEASE ANOTHER BATCH

  7.

Basiclly its the rip off prices the clubs ( not just Rovers ) are charging .

What the clubs have too realise that the entrance fee alone is a large chunk out of the normal working persons weekly wage- say for instance if your take home pay is £250-£300 per week your mortgage , car , etc - kids too bring feed -DO THE MATHS £36 for a match live on Sky or foreign TV it doesnt add up ! - thats why more and more are watchin the game in the pub .

I admit I watched the Portsmouth game in the boozer thus saving myself a nice wedge and putting to better use IE : Salzburg . So the mrs can't complain too much .

  8. Currently we have Jeffers, Roberts, Kuqi, Gallagher and Bentley who can all play up front. I'm not so sure we will sign a big name striker. Not beacue we dont want to, we just aint able to bring anyone in. Surely Roberts and Jeffers was close to bottom on hughes' list of "targets", meaning we have tried but failed to get anyone better.

I think the rest of the transfer money will be used to buy players in other positions..

hope we buy a big name as Roberts and Jeffers aren't top quality replacements but good enougth to replace dickov and pongo but not bellamy ! :rover:

hope Mido comes and then we still have money available for other areas of the team .
