  1. I'm playing devil's advocate here but the lapsed fans watching Rovers with half an eye on a foreign channel over a few beers in the pub and having a laugh with mates are actually supporting in a closer fashion to the Blackburn End terracing days of yore. The whole marketing of modern football has changed the experience for these fans - its like comparing the atmosphere at an early Stiff Little Fingers gig with Glyndebourne and wondering why those who used to go and enjoy the former won't pay through the nose to go to the latter!

Why one-size-fits-all and the anodyne, sanitised wholely family-friendly? Give young people what they want - check out the front of the V festivals on the telly today (less Keane more Kasabian though) :tu:

Dont think the suits at the PL ever seen SLF ( shame KGH isnt on the 2006 tour ).

Well thougt point and I agree 100%

  2. Uncle Jack bent over backwards to try and get Shearer to stay. And Souey couldn't wait to get Duff out of the door so he could start frittering away most of the 17m.

    Would I be right in thinking that;

The more transfers a manager makes in and out the bigger the house and the larger his families bank balances become?

  3. How much would be fair? £20, £.......................

I really don't think the club could, or SHOULD have done any more than it has. We need to be competitive, and to do that revenue, not fanbase, needs to be maximised. Of course if you can do both, great. IF not, "Show me the money!"

I dont think its the money for the 15k hardcore supporters, we dont have the people in the immediate area to fill the rest of the seats. As for the surrounding area....see Preston, Wigan, Bolton, Blackpool, not to mention as some already have Accy.

  4. The big problem for rovers, is that once fans stay away, they rarely re-appear. The club are on a sliperry slope IMO, and simply making a half empty Ewood even nearer. This catageory A+/£36 in the BBE, is a very dangerous ploy.

On one hand the club asks for ideas as how to improve atmosphere, then on the other encourages the fans into the pubs.

This says post says it straight, "once fans stay away, they rarely re-appear". Thats simply cause they fill their time with other activities, this in conjunction with sat3:00pm being a rarely kick off, means people have already found something else in teir lives. And they can catch the odd match in the pub!

With such a small catchment area crowds will dwindle to the 15k incl visitors soon enough.

Personally I think we do very well to get this. Thinking back to post premiership champions, all the people who sat around us in the family stand came for far afield and they didnt come on the bus.

These pepole have have moved to pastures and pleasures new in their lives and wont come back.

  5. I can tell you that a lot of fans hav emoved into the JW Upper this time as there are not many seats available together in block 11 or 12, especially towrds the centre.

Can the drummer boys not realise what they have done ?

My personal suggestion is that they bugger off to the Walkersteel side and raise the dead :)

Totally relate to these sentiments. the drummers annoy me and i dont sit near. but the thing that really annoys me is this

"tv producers kiil the microphones in the BBE so the drummers dont annoy the watching public". This them means that to all watching Rovers are outsung by one man and his dog in the Darwen End.

    Kills our credability.

  6. Anyone who plays or has played football knows the phycological warfare that goes on during a game. This can be digs in the ribs, poke in the a55 OR verbal intimidation.

With a weak personality it works!

Imagine going up to the ref saying " SIR, SIR THAT BOY JUST CALLED BE A BIG GIRLS BLOUSE" OR " RUN PASSED ME LIKE THAT AGAIN AND YOUR CAPRI WONT HAVE ANY WHEELS LEFT" or " YOUR SISTER SO LOOSE ....ETC"

as they say....... "ITS IN THE GAME"

  7. :brfc: it certianley is,at the moment i have a bigger quandry,do i give anna from krarkow with the 38DD 50 euro,s or do i stay on the ###### all day :P:brfc:

I would say the ecstasy of the moment can drown anything for that perfect moment of pleasure, but if you got a lot of cr4p to come back to......stay on the P***

  8. Look what happened to Div 1 attendances in 66/7.

Back in the days the working man could afford to follow football.....

A few 1000 extra at every ground that can take it, for the first half of the season at best.

  9. (fictional)......but plausable, very plausable

So, you get fc*ked over by FIFA, in the heat and passion of the moment you try to take control of the situation, local offical tells local plod you are assulting tim. You get arrested.

You get a crimial record, you cant get a new job for 5 years cause of CRB checks. Your life in tatters....

you come home get flashed by trafic cams on M60 roadworks (40mph) driving back from airport . Your house has been burgled, local police say , sorry mate nothing we can do.

You get fined 60quid, 3point, and your insurance goes up £200

you get depressed and doc puts you on drugs.

    Is football worth it?

  10. I booked the whole day off, and I am still not in the pub.

We will conceed a goal or 2 tonight, there will be defensive howlers from the likes of Ferdinand.

Joe Cole will try to win the game all on his own.

Beckham will sit back and hit long raning passes for any one to chase into space... but its too hot so we wont get to them.

We will pick up 3 or 4 goals from midfield long range or set pieces towards on goal.

    4 -2 England.
