  1. Unless he wants to leave - why break up a winning team ?

At this moment in time - we have a team with individuals that are gradually improving (i.e. Reid, Bentley, MGP, Neil), all backed up by able squad players (Peter, Emo). Why break up a winning side.

Far better to keep this team together - and just tinker with the weaker elements (ie second striker, left back, creative centre midfield).

Lets back Sparky's ewood revolution  biggrin.gif

Looking at it realistically - the £10m lost by keeping MGP would easily be recovered if he continues to develop and we keep getting european spots (we are on target for approx £5m extra position money this year - plus £10m in the unlikely event we qualify for Euro Money League).

Absolutely spot on.. agree with everything you have stated!

  2. Love listening to him. His poetic ramblings are great fun and he does know what he is talking about. It will be a sad day when you can no longer hear him on the radio. The last thing on earth I'd want would be people like him being replaced by yet another former footballer struggling to string three words together. He may not always provide some brilliant piece of analysis but he can sum up the game well and always does it in an original and interesting format.

He reminds me of the sketch on the fast show, with the rambling drunk who babbles crap.. very funny

he always ends with"...and I was very, very drunk at the time!"

  3. Review of Rovers’ Accounts year to 30 June 2005.

What I believe is clear is that the Rovers have derived no income from the Dahlin insurance case unless they have found a clever accounting way of spreading it over a number of years. Unlike contingent liabilities, contingent assets are not required to be reported so there is no way of telling if the Dahlin case is lost or still dragging on.

    Great Post Philipl! thumbs-up.gif

Has anyone heard anything further on the case? unsure.gif

  4. ...this translates into a choice between our Executive directors continuing to sit in the comfort zone drawing huge salaries or actually going the extra mile and managing to extract extra investment in the team from either the Trustees or from outside sources.

Of course I couldn't possibly say that.

Dont think he was hinting at something that deep.. His point was (IMO) we need investment now to move further forward. Plain and simple tinykit.gif
