Someone posted a topic like this around the same time last season when there was genuine hope of a playoff spot. Fast forward 12 months and Rovers have 11 games left to pick up enough points to stay up.
Here are my predictions;
Millwall (H) - draw
Plymouth (H) - DRAW
Boro (A) - loss
Ipswich (H) - draw
Sunderland (A) - WIN
Southampton (H) - loss
Bristol City (A) - DRAW
Leeds (A) - loss
Sheff Wed (H) - WIN
Coventry (H) - LOSS
Leicester (A) - loss
I have 9 more points. Will that be enough?
I make it 10 points. Think a couple of wins may be swapped round, Coventry deffo a loss as they seek playoffs.
Whilst we are bad it's worth remembering that there's a lot of dross in the Championship. Which may see a couple more results swing our way.
Any team with ambition though should be expecting more wins. A semi competent championship outfit would be disappointed not to get a point vs Boro, win from one of our upcoming 2 games and a win at a poor Bristol team. That would easily be enough to see us safe.

Amusing as it is to read a toddler shouting "why won't anyone accept what I say?" the question - topic not toddler- is a sobering one.
IF we get relegated after the cushion we've had with the amount of games to go I wouldn't want him. It'd be poor management even if he was dealt a crap hand. He'd have had to have got a terrible points return and manage to be one of the very few managers ever to not have any honeymoon period/New manager bounce.
He will stay on though as our club is a shambles.

Gutted. Very proud of the Team.
Scant consolation but the barcodes aren't going to win owt this season.

Best game I've seen in ages. Really hope we do it. The players deserve the win.
Cracking block.

Not a fan of Pears but my word what a game he is having! Cracking performance.

Surprised the ref didn't send Pears off for handling out of the area.

Not seen a ref this bad since playing Manure in the RFW days.

Tell you what for all their blood money the Barcodes don't look all that. They'll probably beat us but they don't convince me they are a top premiership team.

Think we've been unlucky that Gally came off for Sig, and the ref is from Newcastle. That said I wonder if nicking it would have been better for the team than a 20 minute rest for a few players.
-
WWE wouldn't have a ref this bias due to plausibility issues

Gutting to see those subs. Was beginning to think we were going to sneak it.
Mind you today has given me some optimism Eustace isn't a total dud. Impressed with the set up and today's performance.
McFadz has been immense, very surprised he's not been the bad signing I thought he would be. In fact he's been immense.
The subs show how ant manager is fighting with his hands tied behind his back. Totally underresourced. Criminally so

Gally has many, many limitations but we are far weaker without him on. Not sure Sig will have the same presence or work rate as Gally or be as useful defensively. Not saying Gally hasn't been frustrating but I'd prefer that to non existent.

Callum Brittain trying to show himself off to the cameras and - predictably - merely showing himself up.
I often think he flatters to deceive. He looks OK going forwards from rb, but doesn't really have the quality or consistency to play in midfield. And he doesn't have the defensive capability to be a good right back either.

Danny Murphy talking about Rovers as if he's some sort of expert really grates.
Stole a living at Ewood
He hasn't a clue. He states there was no managerial stability- which is bull. We gave Bowyer and TM both for too long. The issue is clearly Venkys incompetence.

He has suddenly realised why Trippier is getting stick. No idea has the scouse prick
Good to see he's taking his journalistic duties as seriously as he did his playing days with us.

Disappointed that they asked Shearer who he wants to win. Where's the neutrality in that? Just diminishes Rovers and not a fair question to him either. BBC sports presenting is poor.

Too many fans, our turnstiles can't deal with it
Genuinely not joking
We are a mucky mouse club. Zero professionalism, pride or standards from those in charge. How do they sleep at night?
On the team I don't think there's too many issues having Buckley, its not having a proper tackler with him. At least Buckley can pass it. Moran has yet to do anything in his time here.

It might’ve been mentioned but Jayden Danns who came on for Liverpool today is the son of ex-Rovers midfield, Neil Danns. Neil Danns broke through about two decades ago, around the same time as David Dunn, but never quite made it. He did, however, have a decent and well-travelled career.
Incidentally, Liverpool also had the son of Jason Koumas on their bench. Brings back memories of that era.
I did wonder if there was a link. Decent defensive mid if I recall although not at the level we needed.
The big issue I have with this is I remember his dad as a youth player. Inference is i'm a fair bit older than I like to think I am!

Our best bet of staying up , is whilst it is still in our hands ...
When it is not , we will have big problems!
I wouldn't argue with that. Sadly I don't think it's what we can bank on!

Not as scary as it is for Stoke.
Yep think they are going to save our bacon. The last two managers there have been good and done solid jobs with other teams with limited resources in this division. Not so at Stoke. A rotten club, a poisoned chalice and quite likely our best bet pf staying up!

i think they`ve got a better squad than leicester and would be top with a decent manager
Quite possibly. Hadnt given it much thought but its an interesting one.
Although I don't think Saints fans rate their keeper for one? I think it's been documented the defenders have found the style difficult and uncomfortable at times which is on the manager.

Yes this is probably our biggest worry imo. Up to and including the window where we got Szmodics and Hyam our recruitment by and large has been pretty goo. But since then I've got increasingly worried. Tronstad is quality, and McFadz looks a very shrewd signing, but beyond those two its been really really poor in the last 2 windows.
Another poor window in the summer will see us in the conversation for relegation I think.
I'd disagree that the Hyam and Sammi window was good. We'd let 3 players go for nothing and spent all our money on replacing them. Certainly no adding to the team or addressing the weaknesses, or bringing in a striker. Don't disagree they are two good signings - and I don't rate Brittain - but standing still at best, if that doesn't seem a great window. It was another one of going backwards imo albeit not at the astounding rate of the last few windows.

The taps have been turned off for over 18 months.
If they don't turn them on again in the summer we're going down I'm afraid.
Wouldn't disagree with that at all. Said for a while now this season I think we are safe but bricking it for next.
Thankfully to be the 21st best team in the Championship you dont have to be very good. But what happens when you take out Rotherham and a basket case club of Sheff Weds? Who is going to step up when one of the Sams go? Or both? What do you do when zero money is reinvested every year? It's been pretty miraculous we haven't collapsed the last 2 years and the academy can't keep bailing us out.
We don't have a Championship level keeper. Only half the squad are at a championship level at best. And the squad is thin. You are spot on next season is a disaster waiting to happen without change.

Thats not hindsight, that's common sense and the likely outcome.
Must be great to never be wrong.
