  1. I would contribute, but I already do a £5 a month for another site - I'm not willing to pay 120 quid a year for sites that help me pass free time more than anything, sorry.

And on the own server thing - how much does maintenance cost? Surely if you got the server to a state where the site ran hunky-dory, updates and the likes would only be needed bi-anually, and wouldnt be a major problem (I wouldnt say no to a few days downtime a year if it meant getting out of this painfully slow mode of the current time).

Hmm, just re-read that, i dont mean it to sound derogitory, just another option. I dont know JS about server maintenance, so maybe its just a pipe dream.

  2. Dont read the LEt, living i nCambridge, but if it is true about Cole going, then I would suspect he's staying. Cole, Todd and Yorke are the known people at the end of Souey's dislike, and if Cole's gone, it screams to me that he will stay - either that, or he's sticking him in to attract some attention, but then surely Todd and Yorke would have gone, too.

I'm not sure what all of your post means to be honest.

But I understand you can't buy the LET in your local newsagents.

Help is at hand though - do you have the internet ???

The LET gets delivered to the internet every day sometime after lunch. People post links to it on here, roughly ... every day. It's just like being in Blackburn, especially if you print it out.

Makes perfect sense to me. And I know the LET is online, but reading posts here also suggests its usually a day behind, therefore, kinda pointless, especially when its on a subject that someones already scoured the LET site for.

  4. Someone said earlier it could save us 2.5 million at the end of next year. If that is the case (I dont know much about Coles arrival, contract, etc), then it would seem good buisness. Ish. Dickov scored a fair amount of goals last year, but Steads not proven yet, Jansen is far from former gloroes, and Gally suffers the same problem as Stead. And Yorke, well, goodbye. Unless of course, someone else was targeted as coming in. Still prefer him to stay though, but 2.5 million next year could help bring in some youth - its a fair amount of money in todays market.

  5. I think, perhaps, people are getting 'get over it' and 'moving on' muddled. I'm 17 and have known far too many family members die. 'Getting over it' isnt even an option, aside from being bad advice. Moving on, though, is more a requirement, unless you want to live a life dour and miserable. Or thats my interpretation of a lot of this thread, anyway. I doubt any (well, most) people here would be so insensitive as to think people would just get over it.

  6. Considering the nature of how this topic started - slating the Sun - I think it validates the 'move on' posts here. If I was accused of pissing in the pockets of dead people, I too, would be outraged, but after 15 years, I'd honor the dead by not bringing up one of the worst stories printed on these shores. Its almost as if the 96 deaths havent been fully laid to rest. Dont get me wrong, the Sun is a crap paper printing in lies, etc, and the apology is fairly shoddy, but the Wayne Rooney thing does have a point. Why take even mention the incident, just because he's involved with the paper. Its not as if he's having a dig at the Liverpool fans that died, he did it pure and simple for money.

Dont forget, but I thinking dawdling on a mid-way stage of mourning 15 years on is pushing it.

  7. If there was a 4million kitty for him to spend, perhaps it was also to take into account the wages of the players as well. Hope not, because a cm may not go amiss in the Jan transfer window, seeing as Toogs has only 1 year, Flitty will be past it soon, etc.

Unless DOuglas will play in the middle. Didnt see too much of him there last year.

  8. It was interesting to read what Matteo was saying about his proposed move which was that he wanted to be reunited with his old manager Souey. It has been a forum sport to bash Graeme with tales of player unrest because of his style of management and here we have a player who wants to play for him again. My feeling since souness arrived is that we have got at the helm a man who is well respected in the game and his knowledge and experience are second to none. He has attracted a lot of talent to our club most of which has come off and a minority hasnt but perhaps the overriding conclusion to be drawn in my view is that we are better off with him as manager than without.

Agreed - also, name 1 decent manager we've had since Kenny, other than Souey? Precisely, none.

  9. Jesus Christ Parasyte! i've tried to be diplomatic about this, i really have. I gave you opportunity to pass off your moronic comments (IE is safe, IE is larger and therefore must be better) as jokes. I even responded to your defences of IE and offered you evidence as to IE's significant and numerous shortcomings. You have heard other people on this board confirm that it is indeed faster to load pages and now you want a list of ten reasons why IE is worse than other browsers in order for you to shut your face (as you put it).

Well i gave you a heap of reasons in my initial posting but i shall you give you one more good reason to shut your face:

    Reason 1.TO STOP EMBARASSING YOURSELF!!!

I'm not some Firefox salesman working on commission. My sole purpose in starting this thread was to point out that there were better options when browsing than IE. Some people have tried Firefox as a result and liked it so i like to think that my post has helped. But for some reason you're acting like i just ###### on your favourite childhood teddy bear! I cannot fathom why you responded in the first place (unless it was to make us laugh) but for gods sake just stop. Even i'm beginning to feel sorry for you.

/my final post in this thread

Tbne only reason I even keep responding is because you seem completely arrogant to the fact that the p[oints I'm making are valid. Okay, the size=better one was at very best a long shot.

I gave you opportunity to pass off your moronic comments (IE is safe...)

Okay - safe. On its own? of course not, I've said that already, but then again, its extremely easy to shut the door on the safety front.

I even responded to your defences of IE and offered you evidence as to IE's significant and numerous shortcomings

And I responded aswell - you just ignore perfectly valid points.

You have heard other people on this board confirm that it is indeed faster to load pages

I have Firefox - it is not faster. I even stopped using broadband as a measure, and used my 56k modem - still no difference. I even loaded two pages, side by side, in both FF and IE - and no, it wasnt a page I'd been before that was cached for IE. Loading times? identical.

I cannot fathom why you responded in the first place

On a discussion forum - god forbid.

Put it this way. I've had IE for years. Before that I had netscape, and inbetween I had Opera. And since this post, I even gave FF a trial - I'm willing to try anything, as you said, the topic was to say it was better, so I tried. The point of my replying was to state that not only talking out of your ring, but the points you made were, in fact wrong.

/my final post in this thread

    Boo-fcuking-hoo.
