  1. does anyone happen to know the scoreline from this game?

    (found it, it was 4-1)

oh and talking about prodigies, does anyone some english kid that was on ajax's books 10-14 years ago?

i remember when i was at school we always watched this video on Ajax's youth policy and they had this long haired english kid...christ knows what his name was, but i always (well, once in a while) wonder what became of him.

Sonny Pike I think. He didn't make it. He was on SSN when they mentioned how crap our academies were.

  2. It is a good return. I haven't wanted to slap Chris Martin after hearing that new single yet.

Why do people think that Nickelback song is so great? Has everyone forgotten about real rock music? Am I in a parallel universe where Ace of Spades, Appetite for Destruction and The Who never existed? That Rock Star crap is typical of the MOR whinging arse gravy that people who listen to Kiss FM think is rock. It isn't. It's rubbish that teenagers mums are supposed to like to try and look cool in front of their kids' friends.

  3. Result.

That little souse thug has got his just desserts. No-one should go thoughout their lives beating people up at the slightest provacation and get away with it. Hopefully the Dabo case will extend his stay in prison. He has a two year ban on my Football manager game as well!

Speaking for what he can do on the pitch, I wouldn't want him. He's only occaisionally good, and often gets angry and dirty. With our reputation, he'd get 8 red cards per season.

  4. Ashley Cole has been seen as a nob for a while. The whole 'I left Arsenal to win things' guff, the feeling that he swans about London giving it the big 'I am' etc. He's just another arrogant bling boy who's a product of the silly wages and lack of education in football.

I am surprised at the reports with Wes Brown. Ferguson is not exactly the 1st person you'd like to take on in wage demands, and Brown isn't integral in Man Utd's plans. I can see Brown being shunted to some place like Spuds or Newcastle on daft wages, and a player like Simpson taking the step up to fill his place. Either way, I doubt Brown will get a shot at winning the league next season.

  5. Toshack (aka 'The testicle' if he is in Turkey), is blaming Hughes for a problem that is of his making. Hughes may have relied on aging players like Hartson and Savage, but they were the best Wales had, as Earnshaw is a 1st Division level striker, and Gabbidon is plain average. However, it was the Testicle that had insulted many senior players, burnt his bridges and thus not allowed them to pass on their experience to the younger players coming through. He can't develop players, and his man management skills are 0, so it is the Testicle who has caused the problems, not Hughes. He knows that the only job he can get after this mess is either Mansfield Town, or if he is really lucky, some rich Arab place with no clue.

  6. I've said no. I'm not totally against the appointment, but I just feel that the gulf in experience between Souness and Hughes is eventually going to tell. I am mentally prepared for relegation now. Anything other will be a huge bonus. I hope I can eat my words.

Before you ask I'm number 3. I have stated my reasons. This is nothing more than a cop out by the Board, it was a popularity contest rather than scouring the length and breadth of the football World to find the right man.

It reeks of a self preservation type appointment by John Williams and show him to be less of a forward moving CEO than I thought of him being.

Our club should not be the one to see if Hughes can cut it at this level. I fear relegation, and I fear the man has no savvy to rebuild this club from the grass roots level. Then again what do I know.

Good luck Mark Hughes, welcome and please save my Football Team. If you should happen to be a success, how long will you stay?

Great job??? Fight and hold their own?? against Azerbjain and N. Ireland, wow, that's me suitably impressed. Oh he NEARLY got to the Euro's it was theirs to lose and they did.

Will we all think it's so great if he NEARLY saves us from relegation.

Unfortunately for us, I think he will.

Sorry, I felt like being naughty. Couldn't find anything I wrote as I don't think I was on board at the time. I think my choices were 1. Strachan 2. Dowie 3. Hughes. And there was not much between them. Surprised at USABlue's hostility at the time.
