  1. As the Dude and other posters have stated: 'need three points desperately'.

After the dreadful feeling of the last 45 minutes vs. Spuds, I was impressed by the way we handled ourselves at Feyenoord, hopefully the extended break will heal all niggling knocks & the lads can

put Fulham in their place. This fixture (or is it the Cottage match) is usually chockful of scoring--

with our back four, i'd not bet against that.

Noting that we are on december's doorstep: When's the admiral return?

I miss that warm, secure feeling Ryan provided something awful.

    cheers

    b/w

  2. Ugh, Bryan !! :wstu: NOT !

Upton Park is historically a sad place for us. While we are rarely successful there, an abundance of goals is usually on offer. Hopefully, our new - found security in the back 4 will clamp down on the east enders and deny them the lifeline they desperately need. I love Tevez and Mascherano and they'll undoubtly come good--but not at the expense of our Rovers.

We need these away wins -- they make a huge difference at season's end.

    C'mon Blues !!

  3. Mark Hughes does generally seem bright, but I saw a brief clip of him on some interview where he was asked a very basic mathematical question (I can't remember what it was, but it was extremely basic, something like 18 plus 8), and he cocked it up completely.

He did attend Stanford Univ. in Palo Alto, Ca. which is an outstanding institution. I'm not

certain if he's a graduate due to his footballing. It still speaks very highly of him.

I've heard that Keown is quite smart... I think he at least manages to speak French fluently and was almost like Wenger's interpreter when he first came to the UK to help him settle in.

It's his hands that hold him back. :P

  4. Colin's graphic makes for a depressing read.

I knew we're notoriously slow out of the gate--but

that really drives it home. I still want to look

at this optimistically as we cannot afford

    a slow start this August.

    Pompey 1 - who cares

Rovers 2 - MGP & Shefki (last 9 minutes to quiet his legions of doubters)

Go on Rovers, get into 'em.

    :rover:

    :brfc:

  5. Strangest thing:

This past weekend, I pulled my 2004-05 Kappa away kit (Mustard Yellow) from

the dryer (granted it was in there in error, damned missus) and the HSA

panel was cracked. I pulled the fabric apart and the panel came off relatively

easy. But what surprised me was that there was another HSA decal beneath it,

    in fabulous shape....

is this the norm? or did I win the lottery?

Also I've just run into this site, pretty funny. enjoy.

    Ugly kit site

Also.... what's up with this crap?

    Thumbholes????

  6. Cletus... you watched 'gimme shelter' by Albert Maysles. Tremendous movie. Pretty shocking to see
the violence from the stage, that scene when the Jefferson Airplane was on stage was pretty riveting.
Do you recall one scene when the Stones are playing 'Under my Thumb' (favorite tune, by the way), the
camera pans to a Hell's Angel in the middle of some crazy drug trip.... that was WILD.

I've finally gotten my copy of Muswell Hillbillies'.... this on the heels of Village Green Preservation Society
& Arthur, you can see I've jumped head first into the pool of the Kink catalogue. I'm shocked this music
had eluded me before, I'm loving it & my wife has banished it to the ipod because she's tired of hearing
    it on the carousel.

You don't have to be 50 to enjoy music created during the best period for Rock, 1965-1975.
Mr. Colin :P (but maybe 40.)

Huge Floyd enthusiast- I guess I throw the genius tag at Syd because of my deep appreciation of the
Piper album, clearly all else that follows is dodgy... but I enjoy them for their crazy warts and all. Althou
I am no fan of the Floyd output since Animals, I can say I prefer the Gilmour half of the act more these days
--if only because Roger seems a right lunatic. (not a good reason, is it?) Anyway, in my little world, it's always 1972 and the Floyd are playing in Pompei and Echoes is fresh & new and DarkSide is but a glean in the eye
    of Roger & David.

    cheers
  7. Glad you didn't get into a detailed account of your night, DBirch. :P

These past few weeks i'd just gotten into Love (their first 4 album/original lineup) and have really been grooving out to it, but this past Friday i'd come to learn that Arthur Lee has past away. That on the heels of

Syd Barrett..... it's very sad, gentlemen, two genius' go within a span of 3 weeks.

    very sad day.
