Got two 45 quid tickets 2 weeks ago and gonna give the overdraft a run for its money on the petrol front. Lancaster to Cardiff was 78 quid return per person. Screw that. Got a free hotel room though
-
I cant believe theres no mention of Corrado Grabbi here. He was pants.
-
Does anyone really think we will sell all 30,000 tickets for the semi?
Cos I don`t think we will.
Did you go to Cardiff last time? Despite the stupid time, i think we will

Seems Like Gamst enjoyed spanking pompey!
-
From what I understand it was a very small majority of 3 or 4 people. In a week where racism has been front page news the media wanted to blow the story up mainly due to the madrid racism schenanigans. The madrid racism was made by many, many fans while this was a much smaller affair.

Rovers need some players with skill. We have about three or four premiership quality players and thats just not good enough. Hopefully hughes brings in some quality in january but we'll probably be bottom by then.
-
Give it time. If we become a mid table club and play games like we did in the second half against pompey then our gates will improve. Remember Pompey were one of the most on form teams and we beat them!
-
Glad to see a young manager get a chance. Hopefully he proves that young managers can cut it. At least Parkes reign is cut short, i was counting up the points needlessly lost.

I think the odds are that it may be denial. Why would they say his going to rovers and rovers not announcing anything.
But the odds are also high that they are simply announcing that blackburn have asked permission to talk to him and that wales have let them.
-
Wales FA have announced a 3:30 press conference to announce the future of the Wales National team manager. Watch it on Sky Sports News
-
Thats cos it cost 10 quid to get in while it cost 30 odd before
Not quite. And hard luck with your choice pal!
Well thats what BBC said during the commentary. Don't shoot the messenger.

Just back from the bookies ... managed to get Strachan still at 10-1
btw I notice most of the online sites have taken the "next Rovers manager" off the site, and even in the shop they didn't have the odds readily available - they had to ring up for them
I currently stand to win about £20 if Hughes is the new manager, about £100 if it's either Strachan or Dowie, about £150 if its Moyes, and about a grand if it's Martin O'Neill (£2 at odds of 580 on betfair)! There will be some singing in the streets of Sale if Martin O'Neill joins I can tell you.
Obviously I lose a bundle if it's anyone else!!
It's going to be Keegan I'm afraid to say.
He's been seen at the petrol station on Preston New Road..the Samlesbury one I think..oh and he's a good mate of JW.
Oh my god, in preston!

Its dissapointing but there are more managers with club experience and thats whats essential.
-
Well there you go. Thats the end of that. Newell anyone?
Shut up.
I don't know if you've noticed, but Newell has the charisma of a paper-clip.
Also Hughes will still be our new manager, do you believe everything these people say?
If so your just a big fat idiot.
No you shut up

I doubt newell would leave his management position at an in form luton to be assistant at Rovers.
-
Newell also has experience of club football but not of big name players. Meanwhile Hughes has no experience of club football but experience of big name players.
-
I think they should talk to him. He wants the job. I think he'd boost attendances as well.
-
I'm not knocking Mark Hughes and I obviously hope he does well when / if he comes in but can anyone explain why he is the overwhelming favourite for the job? He's very inexperienced in the role and despite having had a couple of good results for Wales these were some time ago and were followed by 18 months of bad ones - a run which still continues. (And before anyone blames it on the quality of the Welsh team are they really that much poorer than the players he'd have at Ewood?). It all seems vaguely reminiscent of the clamour for Kidd. Wasn't he the players / fans choice too?
Déjavou? Nah. Kidd was an assistant but I see where your coming from. Drawing with Azerbergan (I cant even spell it) and N. Ireland was dissapointing. He is still unproven.
I still say mike newell even though its unlikely. He has proven that money doesn't matter at luton and has done wonders with his current crop of players.

I think that to fill the stadium we need to be fighting for a uefa cup place. Things are bad when you cant fill your stadium when man u are in town. I still say that we should give big teams like liverpool, arsenal, chelsea and newcastle the riverside stand and move people into other areas. Then we will have a sell-out for the first time in ages. Although that will spark controversy.
Look on the bright side, we're one of the cheapest teams to watch. I only paid 230 quid for my season ticket (ok it was a young adult one). My mate who supports west ham says they charge over 600 quid for theirs and dont even get me started on man utd's season ticket. You need a new mortgage to pay for that.
The reason we have a slightly weaker team all goes down to the attendances. We just cant afford to pay big wages because then we'll be in trouble, especially if we went down to the championship. We need to hope our next manager can generate success or this club will become the yearly relegation struggler.

I still believe we're not as bad as palace... yet
