  1. I'm sure in jims world there are no nations and everyone can play for any country they chose. One big happy country. Round in circles we go.

Sounds like the EU dictatorship (apart from the happy part).

Anyway, well done Lancs on a smashing performance!!

  2. I see Lancs have started the season well. I know it's only the first 2 days.........but to lose the toss and bowl Notts out and then get a first innings lead (still with wickets to go) is no mean feat - especially since they are most people's relegation candidates this season - mostly due to a fragile batting line-up.

  3. Ahhh, nationality and parentage...the debate that will never end....

Was George Orwell a famous Indian novelist?

As he doesn't look so Venky to me..........

Anyway, Morgan probably dislikes England deep down.........I've noticed he never sings the National anthem (as he'd probably get vilified back in his native Ireland).

  4. Shocking news. Shame for him and English cricket. The top order starting to look a bit weak because struggling for an opener, no 3 and now a no 5.

    Cook

    ?

    ?

    Root

    ?

    Stokes

    Bairstow

Hales, Compton, lyth, Robson, carberry at various points all looked poor. Ali and ballance hit and miss. Lees untested. Jason roy and bell Drummond prob not up to it yet. Maybe Buttler could slot in at 5 instead of Taylor.

    Dare I mention _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ?

  5. Fury v Klitschko rematch set for July 9th, although the Klitschko camp are yet to confirm.

Fingers crossed Klitschko brings some order back to the division and takes those belts back off Fury, the mans an embarrassment to the sport.

That rematch was never going to happen. :tu:

  6. the4400.....people abducted throughout the last 80 years are suddenly deposited back on earth and not one of them have aged a day since they went missing. Loved the first season, but finding the second season a drag to watch, but i will get through it.

The mystery surrounding the Ewood Park attendance figures may have inexplicably been solved.

  7. That's put the tin lid on a terrible weekend for sport. What's worse is after giving us no hope at half time they made me believe but still managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory

That's the worst thing about it. The only thing that would have made this weekend worse would have been a Brown equaliser in the last minute and then a Preston winner in the 93rd.

I was quite relaxed at the half way stage as we had no chance - then they got into a position where most neutrals were calling England favourites - yet they still managed a way to choke spectacularly. It's England to a T.

  8. The last train on Saturdays is only 11pm, or at least it used to be. Been stranded in Manchester loads of times after gigs and usually end up having to stay over or shell out £50 on a taxi!

Edit : just realised I answered that post assuming you were coming back from Manchester and it doesn't actually say that  . But the point 't mndstands, public transport sucks!

    I meant coming back.

I didn't mind so much getting stranded on a bank holiday weekend a while back as there were loads of clubs open until 4am. But even Manchester nightlife is pretty grim on any normal Sunday.

Just can't afford a night of accommodation (+ transport, gig ticket, food and beer). Something has got to give.... may as well save some pennies and see if Download is a viable option this year (only 10 weeks to go).
