  1. The Franco stuff is an interesting but weird one. He was actually originally an Atletico Madrid fan but eventually wanted Real Madrid to succeed (once they became the top dogs) as it looked good for his regime to have such a great side in Europe.

However domestically, I'm pretty sure that was one of Barcelona's most successful periods.

I can't say I'm a massive fan of either really. I think Real Madrid fans are too spoilt and they're more concerned with pigeon-holing superstars into their side than building a proper team.

Barcelona I find arrogant when they accuse others of not playing "the right way" when they have one of the highest wage bills in all of sport and spend hundreds of millions on transfers as well. Along with all the tax-evasion stuff. Plus their are loads of bandwagoners on the internet who claim to support them who are just as self-entitled and arrogant as Man Utd fans.

They're both two fairly strange clubs. You'll hear ex-players say that their fans treat games similar to a theatre where they are there to be entertained, and the majority aren't as passionate as other fans. I like the other sides. Valencia and Bilbao mainly, but also Sevilla and Atletico.

  2. The two ties I would have handpicked to see personally so that's a great draw.

Think this will be another real test of how far Spurs have come this season, and I can't recall seeing a Utd vs Liverpool game in Europe before. Has there been one in the past 20 years or so?

Fancy Liverpool to go through, but hopefully that won't result in Van Gaal's sacking as I don't want the fun to end just yet.

  3. Saw the game as well, think they'll be the first team to retain the CL in it's current format.

Their front 3 are probably the top 3 players in the world on current form.

Fair play for them for pulling off that penalty. Remember Arsenal trying it against City and getting blasted by Danny Mills after they messed it up.

How times have changed for them lot.

  4. Take my word for it, the first 5/6 episodes are slow but then it picks up. You will be hooked by the end of season 1.

I am really enjoying Damages so hope season 2 continues with season 1. Agreed about Rose Byrne lol.

That's interesting as I gave up on Justified myself after about 5 episodes. Maybe I'll give it another go.

Just started Mr Robot though and need to catch up on that first.

  5. Can't see Mayweather losing. Adopts his style to beat any opponent, just can't envisage someone getting the upperhand over him.

Can't see anyone getting knocked out though.

I wish this fight happened 5 years ago but I'm buzzing for it all the same, hopefully it lives up to the billing.

  6. Rumble in the Bronx - Fantastic fun. Very cheesy acting but this is by far Jackie's best display of stunts that I've seen.
Apocalpyto - Mel Gibson movie that sets out the implosion of the Mayans. Really good watch if you like South America and its history. It's pretty intense and raw in parts.
