The London pull opens up the player pool though.

IKompany is clearly someone who is very ambitious and will have a clear career plan. I would imagine Palace would look like a good next step - I just think (hope?) it’s a season and a bit too early for Kompany.

I suspect that he'll stay with Burnley until at least the end of next season to prove that he can manage at the top level. If he left having just taken us up, people may well say what some have said on these august pages, it was the money, we had loan players, poor quality Championship this year etc ..

If he keeps us up comfortably, then would he really go to a Palace, Brentford, Wolves " type " of Club ? I could see the appeal of a Tottenham or Newcastle, but I suspect he may wait for the City post to become vacant .... when I suspect if his stock is still high, he'll be a shoe-in !!

Wait, they're making their own threads now?

Not the first, my friend !!

However, the one I was invited to start by the " Mods " was the match thread for your last visit to Turf Moor. Judging how that panned out, I suspect I may not be extended the same courtesy again !!

  3. Of the 92 current Clubs in the top 4 tiers of English Football, only 6 have yet to play at the " new " Wembley, can you name them ?

Albert Allen ( Aston Villa ), Jack Yates ( Burnley ), John Veitch & Walter Gilliat ( Corinthians ) and Frank Bradshaw ( Sheffield Wednesday ) were all England Internationals, but all have one thing in common, what is it ?

Which League ground is closest to the River Mersey ?

Id say we should go for 10 wins in the last 10 games....getting us promoted.

That would get you to 88 points which in most seasons will be enough, including I suspect this one ... The Championship is a weird beast, even the bottom three will cause some upsets as they battle to avoid the drop, Sheffield United have a bad patch, I think Stoke will take points off the play-off hopefuls, the only sure thing at the moment appears to be playing QPR who will promptly disprove that theory by winning their next three games, knowing this League ... 😉

Making sarcastic comments about others viewing your lots companies house filings, furthered with a point you could only come up with after viewing the Rovers’ account filings shows me that your obsession with us is now that engrained you don’t find it unusual

Do you look at our accounts every year sweetheart? There must be nothing you don’t know about the Rovers

    Obsessed

When discussing a subject, it does generally help if you're well informed ... I'm lucky enough to find a lot of things interesting, including football finances ....

We really need to get over this embargo news. I know a lot of the comments are tongue in cheek, but there’s plenty of our fans genuinely calling Burnley cheats, the EFL corrupt, and demanding point deductions and relegations.

It’s a late submission of accounts which automatically leads to a block in registering new players. It’s an administrative hold up. We only need to cast our minds back 2 years to when we were in the exact same boat (along with Birmingham, Cardiff, Coventry,  Huddersfield, Luton, Reading, Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke).

The hysteria from Rovers fans comes across as really bitter. We are better than that.

We're seeing a lot of interest in Companies House Filings over the last 24 hours, whilst there, some might want to check the Filings of " Venky's London Ltd ", and the £28,990,000 of new shares allocated in the last 25 months or so ...

Here's a thought, if t'Rovers get to Wembley for the Cup Semi-Final, do you think the Venkys will put in an appearance ? The weekend of 22nd April is very late for snow in North London, so they should be safe ....

Feck me last time we won it the EFL sent the trophy to Middlesbrough assuming they’d be champions. No guard of honour needed - and I doubt it would be requested

Good to see this thread returning to football. For a minute tonight I thought we were going to get three late goals but it wasn't to be and we certainly didn't deserve to.

What are the chances of a guard of honour being requested at Ewood?

The " Derby " will be game 44 of a 46 game Championship season .... if we haven't wrapped up the title or at the very least promotion by then, the wheels will have come off big style !!

The " Guard of Honour " nonsense was a story floated by Alan Nixon apparently ... Kompany doesn't seem the sort of Manager who'd request such a thing, nor does our Chairman. Add to that, probable objections from the Constabulary, who'd regard it as an " unnecessary provocation " for a high profile game with an Evening kick-off, especially following the sad events in Blackpool recently.

  10. I mentioned this on another thread some time ago, but it's worth a repeat .....

We have a Rovers supporting friend , rather younger than us, who got married in 2021 to a Burnley girl. For the last 10 years, my wife and I have shared our home and provided support with two Adult brothers who live with learning disabilities, under LCC's " Shared Lives " scheme. When Chris invited one of our gents, Keith, to be an usher, Keith started crying and explained " I never thought anyone would ever ask me to do something like that, because of how I am " ! They also asked him & his brother to compere a version of " Mr & Mrs ", at the Reception, which brought the House down ...

It was the week after Rovers had conceded 7 at home to Fulham, a result to which his Burnley inclined friends had made reference, as you'd expect. Of course, this group of us Burnley fans were put on table 7 at the reception but he had the last laugh. When the waiter came round and filled our Champagne flutes for the toast, he poured our entire table " 7up " from a litre bottle, with a message from the Groom .... " Seeing as you lot are that bloody keen on the number 7  " 😎

Billy Connolly on football rivalry ... " We've all got the football virus, some just have a different strain of it than others ! "

Chaos again at Watford. They will never learn there.

Was Bilic doing such a poor job really?

During the period Sean Dyche was Burnley Manager, Watford had 13 different full time Managers and 3 different " Caretaker Managers ", one of which, Hayden Mullins, served twice.

    Quite mad ...

I've now amended the post, thank you for that. I broke my own rule and posted a strong rumour ... 😒

We are still unbeaten, still top scorers, still have the tightest defence, still 13 points ahead of second, 17 ahead of third and 19 ahead of you in 4th with with 33 points to play for. No excuses just a summation of the recent results. Oh and we are still considered more than 99% likely to go up and 96% likely to be champions.

But apart from that, " longsiders ", the wheels have completely come off ..... 😉😉

I didn't like paying £30 odd to stand behind a pillar and not be able to use the toilets.

I hardly think that was the worst aspect of your day ..... we generously provided the pillars so you could avoid watching what was happening on the pitch, and didn't even charge you extra !!

Seriously, cracking 3 points today for you lads, and a great goal to win it !!

    Yep, as expected ....

Don't always agree with posters on here, but " Shearer, you T**t ! " indeed ......
