The change to pale blue is hasn't anything to do with a Venkys conspiracy. I wouldn't imagine they have any input into the kit design.

Can the poll have an option "Like the kit, hate the sponsors logo"

Don't you know? Balaji designs them himself and Desai sets the price!

I suppose others will say that it's the dumbing down of the decision makers they've put in that are to blame...

BUT - we've had pale blue many times before them and hopefully will after they have gone. Quite a few of us like it, and it's nice for a change now and then.

Sound business decision not to just rehash the same stuff - there was a period in the Crown paints sponsored era when I became very bored and disinterested in the kit launches.

It's a bit different, and yes a surprise to some but just wait till you see it on Ewood with Dacky wearing it scoring a hattrick to send us up.

    You'll get used to it.

I have already said I would prefer Kent to Maddison. He brings experience of this league in 2 different spells and was Barnsley young player of the year in 2016/17 season.

Not so sure about that at all.

But there is an argument to be made for Kent over Chapman, similar tricky, nippy players (of similar ability at least, I am led to believe) but with less risk re: injuries. I expect it will be one or the other.

Can't just sign for nostalgia all the time!

Whilst I like the core design of the shirt the colours of the sponsor and the numbering is off for me, can’t marry them up and find it jarring

Honestly - I think it looks fantastic. Striking, different, modern & stylish. You'll get used to it!

Do we ever have a good season when they launch a powder blue kit ?  Why when they say they are nodding to history is it always the same one they nod to ?   What about the multitude of other great kits we've had how about nodding to the occasionally.

Great that they have what sounds like a good few quid for a sponsor but let's face it it would take a hell of a kit to make that logo look good, another tacky betting firm logo at that.

Neither was Crouch and nor is Kane not that i'm actually comparing ability but it just seems the way with big lads these days the out and out target man type is disappearing even lower down the scale. Both those and I think Gallagher to be fair have scored their share of headed goals but yeah it's annoying when someone 6ft plus suddenly becomes a foot shorter than the centre half when the ball is aimed at their head.

Crouch has scored more headed goals than anyone in Premier League history, just a stat I heard the other day. If Gallagher was as good as him in the air I’d be delighted.

Defenders head up and away, strikers down and aimed, does negate some height advantage sometimes.

Was about to post this, so thanks for saving me the trouble!

Usual caveats for a highlights package, but the fact that they can put together a 6 minute video for one season is encouraging! Could you get 6 minutes from Feeney's entire career?

Obviously has great quality of delivery, but seems to like to run with the ball given the chance too. Couldn't tell if he had absolutely blistering pace or not, but definitely quicker than anyone else we have there at present.

A significant amount of the fee that will be realised for Marriott is potentially down to Maddison - his assist stats are excellent.

Still reckon he'll end up elsewhere.

Oh. Just hadn’t seen that announced anywhere, wondered if you might be jumping the gun.

    Is a bit pricey tbh.

Although I might add that launching any in-demand product with a years’ shelf life at less than market rate would be equally questionable to me. Especially considering the “loyalty discount” that is club cash, promotions, stock clearance etc.

It is what it is and not unprecedented.

  8. I've put a fiver on Sterling tomorrow as anytime goalscorer. Think he is bringing a lot to the team that is going unnoticed and that others can't provide. Deserves a goal to stick it to The S*n.

But I really think Alli needs to step up. When he's on it he is immeasurably better than Loftus-Cheek.

Niggle or not, he seems to be playing within himself and with a fear that doesn't seem to affect Lingard, Kane et al. -  reminiscent of the "Golden Generation" and freezing on the big stage.

Don't trust Rose at the back, but he probably should play vs. Sweden, after that no changes for me.

If the team all play well we should win.

Play with the same heart, determination and "fight" as the last round then I'm pretty happy either way.

    Well done England.

As I predicted earlier Harry scored. In fact he got two.:)

I also knew Henderson would miss his spot kick :(

When Dier showed for his penalty I cried.....but that was before he took it...

Southgate is a God and should be Knighted for producing an England team that can win a penalty shootout.

What the hell happens to Sterling with England? He was useless and so sadly were Lingard and Ali. They were out of their depth with what was going on around them.

Tripper should have jumped and cleared their goal.

Pickford played well and I doubted him before.

What a dirty bunch of xxxxs Colombia are. See Ya.

Almost 45% of all goals scored so far have been from set play or pens. We are good at BOTH.

It really is a game of opinions. Sterling in particular, I thought, was excellent.

Why? He made a deliberate choice to avoid Brazil in the QF and took the risk of playing a  much harder last 16 tie. If you gave me the same choice again I still Wouldn't do it.

He got away with it just about but having gone down that route has to see the job through now

If we win it you’ll say we had it easy.
