That's your choice. You don't have to be. You could drink tea instead.

It's what civilised Lancashire folk do

Yesterday was my first drink in 3 weeks. Only ended up having 4 pints and a glass of red later. I enjoy a cup of tea with the best of them but think I like booze more when attending football. Sometimes you need a couple of liveners to watch that shite.

Ringtons tea I trust for a man of your calibre.

Edit: Leeds was another unnecessary early kick off which inconvenienced some supporters.

It certainly inconvenienced the Leeds fans with no trains running.

Early ko games are horrendous on the atmosphere. I hate them and we have our fair share. On occasion I have to drag myself because my lad is keen as mustard. 5.15 games aren't much better because you're full of ale.

  4. The Top 7 look to have been around there most of the season Bristol City aside. I can't see this changing tbh but I can see 1 side from the pack going on a charge and maybe gatecrashing the play offs. Preston possibly but I was expecting more from Villa when Smith took over.

Results weren't overly kind to us yesterday but win our game in hand on Tuesday and all good. March is a tough month with West Brom (H) Sheffield United (H), Bristol City (A) and Millwall (H) (always raise their game against us) as well as a trip to Reading. Top 2 after that run then very happy.

  5. Big day today at the business end.

    Leeds v Bolton

    Norwich v Bristol City

    West Brom v Sheffield United

Although I sympathise with the supporters of Bolton I hope we beat them 10-0 and they get whats coming to them. In our -15 pts season that Gartside and that other mug at Ipswich were the 2 biggest gobshites wanting heavy sanctions against us apart from the -15. Sure they wanted -25 as well as other embargoes. Nothing against the fans but the former now deceased chairman was a prick and for that I dislike them. When we went down there in 2004 their fans were good as gold after and we had a good booze with them on Bradshawgate. Funny how what goes around comes around. University of Bolton. You couldn't make it up. University ?? Like Huddersfield. These places arent fitting of Universities. Anyway looking forward to a good day on the sauce today. Not had a drink for 3 weeks so ready. 11 bells start. By your beds.

Birmingham 1-2 Rovers. In TM you trust. Good luck.

  6. A copper told us in the DE in October that whenever the DE is given completely to the away team and 7,000 are turning up then it has to be a noon kick off. Sure we brought pretty much 7,000 the other year on a night match when Pontus got a late winner. So a bit of a contradiction there or maybe that is Saturday/Sunday when the noon ko applies. I am sure he said it was the Police who insisted on this rather than the club.

Said copper was a man mountain and I would say not far off 7ft. Leeds fan as it went from Burnley.

May I ask how you are in a position to judge his performance levels this season.

He is already a very good Championship player in our team. Hes the key to any top 6 push and he will be incredibly difficult to replace. Id take Dack over 15 million in Mowbrays hands any day. Very rarely does that scenario work as well as youd like it to.

I have family who are ST holders who call it as it is and I enjoy watching Rovers when the chance arises. Your squad is lacking quality/depth imo so the obvious option is cash in and strengthen.

  8. Your crowds make for interesting reading. Usual average around 13,500.

15,900 for Villa and just under 21,000 when we came in October. Massive jump is that. Thought Villa would of been higher. I would imagine 17,000 v Preston.

Do you still do quid for a kid in the Riverside  ??

I don't think he has hit the heights of last season in terms of all round play.  Possibly better opposition but his goals /assists are still impressive.  Hand on heart though, I'm not convinced he's Prem quality - certainly not a top half side.  £20 mil would be a no-brainer.

This. Cash in on Dack and rebuild for a push at the top 6. I said he hadn't hit the form of last season and was shot down. Not Premier League quality imo but could be a very good championship player in the right team.

  10. Just renewed mine and Jnrs.

8th season consecutive price freeze even if we do go up.

Mine in just over £500 and my lad who is 17 is just over £300. Both in the South Stand upper next to the away section. Great seats.

    23,000 ST holders this season.

Gone earlier with the renewals this time. March 29th cut off date for the price freeze. Not daft.

If you’re referring to CP Lad you’re talking out your backside again, he’s never been cocky or arrogant on here and in contrast remarkably restrained despite what gets levelled at him.

    Cheers mate.

Some decent lads on here who you can have a good reasoned debate with and chat about the league we are both in. I certainly dont think i am cocky or arrogant on here and you dont get invited into someones house for a brew and start rooting through the kitchen cupboards :D. Best league in the world as far as im concerned. Love it when things are going well.

  12. Baffles me that some Rovers would even want him out ?

He brought you up last season and you are mid table in the Championship.

Some big clubs in the league with big expectations and budgets to back it up.

Sounds to me like quite a few on here have expectations way way too high.

Reading the match day thread it's pretty obvious quite a few of the more vocal and prolific posters don't even go on yet are first to stick the boot in your manager after a poor run of results.

Be careful what you wish for because like us you have had some shite at the helm in recent years and now you have a manager that has brought a bit of stability yet some of you want him out.

    Mark Hughes was mentioned

We don't really care to be honest. Would you be on this site if we were riding high and you were stuck in mid table? Highly unlikely

I thought this thread was about the Championship  ? Maybe I got it wrong. I joined before our game at Ewood.

Just a bit of injury news concerning a team in the mix approaching the business end. It's in our hands. Next week has...

    Leeds v Bolton

    Norwich v Bristol City

    West Brom v Sheffield United

QPR v Leeds our game in hand a week Tuesday.

    All to play for.

Sheff Utd rested their two main strikers and still scored 4. I still think you've got a chance in the play-offs though... If you get there.

Aye. Good side Reading eh ?

Toss up between them and Ipswich as the worst side ive seen in this league in many a season. Shocking. You must of been dire losing there in the week. Pub team.

  15. Kemar Roofe out for 6/8 weeks with ligament damage. Great news. Just start getting players back after long lay offs and bang. Brown and Bamford need to step up now and avoid any niggles as I think both are a bit soft.

On a brighter note Jack Clarke been given the thumbs up to return to training this week.
