It was a brilliant night. The reception he received was unbelievable, a real hairs on the back of your neck moment. You could tell he was really moved by it. An absolute legend, my hero and the greatest player to wear the blue and white shirt (in my opinion).

Yet another game which can be filed in the “should have won” category. We have a serious problem in not being able to kill games off and being punished for it.

Being the optimist that I am, I’m hoping that the end of the hectic period where time on the training ground is minimal will now allow JDT to spend some serious time with the group and iron out some of these problems. This with the much needed return of some of our key players will hopefully have a positive impact…

Those last 30 minutes were a hard watch but it’s all about 3 points in the end.

I generally avoid this forum immediately after a loss. Posts and opinions full of negative emotions generally doesn’t create an atmosphere for constructive debate.

My opinion on the game for what it’s worth…..more than in it for 80 mins. The Travis/Sammie chance at 2-1 being the turning point. At times I thought our play was very good. When we get it right we play some excellent stuff. Just the balance between attack and defence needs addressing. I’m not panicking at this stage (9 games in to the season people!)

I thought Brittain and Moran were our standouts yesterday.

Absolutely gutted to miss out by GD in the end but ultimately our results over the last 10 games have not been good enough.  I don’t bother with the “what if” moments these days as it drives me mentally mad! That being said I’m confident that a full preseason under JDT and positive recruitment in the summer we can be even more competitive next season.
 

Now I appreciate the recruitment element is somewhat contentious and the whole January saga is making even the most optimistic Rover like me nervous, but here’s hoping to lessons learnt and we get it right. The modern day fan is obsessed with amount of money spent, but we just need to be smart and effective with our signings. There are absolute gems out there for minimal transfer fees, we just need to hope our recruitment team can find them. And I know many people on here are dismissive of loans, but you only need to look at the likes of Burnley/Sheff U and Sunderland that have used that market to good affect.

IF we can get a positive result tomorrow, I might just be able to shake off the disappointment of the last two games. It’s going to take a huge effort and absolutely everyone being on top form. 
 

The team talk should be easy. Show them the game from earlier in the season and say we need to do everything we didn’t do in that game. Be aggressive without the ball and brave when on the ball. Leave absolutely everything out there.

Very frustrated and angry after that performance tonight. Slow, passive, unimaginative, lacked bravery, lacked desire, lacked quality, lacked ambition….I could go on. Pretty much everyone was a sack of shit tonight. Brereton can fuck off to Spain if that’s how he is going to “perform” for the rest of the season.

Huddersfield will absolutely bulldoze us if we play anything like yesterday.

3 points is of course the goal here, but a draw would not be the end of the world. I’m classing this as a “must not lose game”. 4 points from the next 2 games would be a decent return

Same team that started at the weekend, no reason why it shouldn’t be. 
 

The back 5 really are looking a solid unit, Travis is performing much better and the quartet of Thomas, Szmodics, Dolan and Gally look a real threat.

Arguably the best away day I’ve been to that. Unbelievable performance, an atmosphere like I’ve never seen before and an incredible result to match. So many great performances last night. 
 

It was worth getting home at 01:30!

I’ll be amazed if Leicester don’t field their strongest side tomorrow. Despite their league position I don’t see them being dragged in to a relegation fight. They will see the FA Cup as a way of restoring what’s been a disappointing season for them.

I’m going to the game tomorrow and looking forward to tick another ground off. Unfortunately I think the schedule and depleted squad will get the better of us tomorrow. That being said, I thought the same when we played West Ham….
