  1. Back then we had 3 great options up front. It's a real shame that they couldn't be played together as I don't really see how you fit them together as a unit.

Gestede and Rhodes were very good as a 2, perhaps King could have played wide, with another on the opposing flank. But that would have left us weak in the centre. I am unsure how you fit them in.

He was phenomenal at times and has risen higher than the other 2, but if being honest, I didn't see that coming.

4 with Armstrong? We have 5 strikers and only DG can be relied on!

    Its beyond pathetic.

    What are you on about?

Armstrong, Brereton, Gallagher and Samuel are all incredibly reliable and the stats prove it!

They're just reliable at not scoring, as opposed to scoring.

    Hehe.

I just read the article with TM and despite the time, I am rather confused by what he says.

Gally is suffering as he hasn't played enough in the last few years as a striker. Surely if that is the case then you play him as a striker and persevere. A striker is a finisher of moves and opportunities first and foremost. And yet he is playing on the wing, where primarily you create said chances for the strikers. Perhaps his time out wide is why he squares the ball when he should really shoot?

  3. Whether he's past it or not, he is the only striker we have who has consistently scored goals in his career.

Anyway how does someone go from being fine last season ie May. To broken and knackered in August? I can only surmise that Graham has some sort of wasting disease and perhaps he should be in hospital, given his rapid physical decline.

Play him, he will score/shoot when the opportunity arises, not square the ball.

That question made me check out how the League One top scorers are looking. A couple of lads have 8 goals.

Marcus Maddison has 6 goals and 6 assists...

Lol, I did the same. Peterborough have a number of players who are scoring for fun, 2 strikers on 8 and maddison, as you said. That's quite some number from three players, but I guess they will want top dollar for their stars.

There must be a freebie somewhere who can aid us?

  5. Really need a victory in this match. I hope he starts Holtby as the sooner he's playing 90 the better. No good playing the way we do if we cannot consistently unlock defences. Dack can do it but we need more and strikers don't do this and need more creativity in the team.

Drop Gallagher start Graham, with Armstrong, Dack and Holtby supporting. Travis and Johnson in midfield and if Williams struggles, drop in Tosin and let's go get a victory.

You dont win anything in 10 games.

    Except both cups?

TM deserves this season, unless we plummet. But he's got to start showing more on the pitch and stop spunking our meagre funds on players who don't look up to scratch. Brerton is a massive cock up and serious cash for us these days. TM either needs to hoodwink another club and get rid or make him into a player. I am also keen to stop this strikers wide bollocks and get players out there who know and can play the role. Chapman is one for me, loads of players are big time Charlie's but he has something about him and like all kids needs pitch time and faith. Holtby is a great signing, TM has done well there as with Dack (pieboy), but he has more blunders than hits and has apparently revolutionised our scouting system.  Transfers must improve.

I hope we can finish top six, expect to finish top 10 and anything less is not good enough. We will find out eventually.

Sometimes it’s not all about results at this stage of the season, you get a feel for how we may do based on performances too.

Don't take this the wrong way, but Professional sport is all about results, always. Our last two haven't been good enough, regardless of pointless stats etc. TM stated 12 points minimum and we have failed in that endeavour. The fact he even stated that displays he feels it is about results, regardless. We need points to stand a chance of the play offs, keeping the ball with no penetration or purpose is pointless, as we have discovered. Something needs to change in our play/selection to better our points total.

The pace of Lolley's shot beat Walton plus I think he was unsighted for split second by Lenihan.

I think we are much better side by our short passing.

Armstrong and Downing best 2 players last night for me

He was completely unmarked on the edge of the area and had enough time to take two touches.  That is pish poor after scoring.
