Ayala will be a brilliant signing for 3 years if it happens, Personally I would say we would have him for his best years, with a deal close before medical would of been done, so just the case of signing and quarantine if he needs to, praying the fax machine works before another offer comes in

The guy from Twitter said that it is a domestic CB, but he maybe have to go into a quarantine. Are some areas in England "red" at the moment?
Certain areas around Cardiff are in lockdown tho ?

Cunningham not in the Cardiff squad today, surprised by that after getting minutes in pre season,

Kid has some serious talent, Brilliant on the ball and full of energy, Once he learns how to preserve his energy for the right moments and can last 80-90 minutes, Can’t wait to see how he progresses

Unfair for him to be beat 3 times by quality today, I like how he plays the sweeper keeper with some good distribution, One great save and looked calm, look forward to this thread after a few games

Dolan used last pre season game, I wondered if he would be thrown on in later stages to catch out defenders incase Arma tires

If you are referring to Del, give your head a wobble.
If Charlie Goode is good enough to start for Brentford, whats the difference with his defensive partner from last season, Wharton.? Can you imagine Brentford starting Del??
Agreed, How many players can say they have been promoted 3 Times, He’s been shipped off for years now and been successful, Never Moaned, Just got on With his football stating he want to fight for his place every time he’s come back, He’s young, Hungry, and wants a career with us, He’s got the heart it’s up to him to find consistency and not be forced out the 11, I believe he will become a regular! #coyb SEASON STARTS TOMORROW ??

You don't think having Raya instead of Walton would have improved our position in the table though? Maybe we would have made the playoffs, maybe not (small margins in games in this league, and a win at the right time builds momentum), but I'm entirely certain we would have been closer than we were.
I do think he was a better keeper than Walton, And he would of won us points for sure, If Arma were at Brentford he would be valued more, That’s what I’m trying to say,

So your theory is the guy who got him brought him to Brentford would have just lost interest if we had kept him another year? I mean it's possible but I doubt it. Expect he still would have been saying 'hey, you want this Raya lad'.
Yes that is my theory, We will disagree on this subject because I don’t think his value would of Risen by that much playing for us last season unless we were fighting top end of the table,

You think we are going to get another 2-3 million off the sell on? They're often percentage of profit and reports are it's 20%. 20% of 7 million (profit) is 1.4 million.
Conversely we could have been looking at 10 million ish, in a straight deal, by not selling him at all that summer. 'Player wanted out'? Tony made that happen by chewing him out in public and letting veterans make mistakes with no consequence.
Arsenal would never of come to us for him! The goalkeeping coach from Brentford moved to Arsenal and his opinion will matter in this deal,

Well no, because we are happy to sell for peanuts. Even if he had a 10 mill market value with Arsenal snooping we would let him go for about 6 I reckon. 'We couldn't stand in David's way by asking an unreasonable fee, we had to do right by the player and let him go as soon as Arsenal were interested. Not a problem anyway, there's this bright young keeper at Brighton we can loan, we will be fine.'
We can't consider it a successful piece of business because after what, 6 years of developing him, we will have let Brentford make more money off him in a year.
1 minute ago, bluebruce said:Was it buggery a reasonable fee. As shown by the fact that many of us said at the time it was far too cheap, and a year later he is being touted for more than triple the amount!!! A sell on is better than none but it was still a poor deal. At a well ran club, hard questions would be getting asked on the back of this. And on the back of the BB buy. And on the back of the SG buy. And about the pointless contract extensions.
So what the difference between selling him for The price we did with sell on clause, Or a straight 5-6 million deal? In the end we got the cash
-
Would Raya be worth that price if he were still playing for us, I think not! Brentford fighting for promotion and a good team to watch,Hence the inflated price, If he does go to Arsenal then we can consider it a successful piece of Business with the overall fee we have received

Could this player be from the Italian league, Heard some players in that league are usually 3rd party owned by other clubs, Agents etc, Basically got to negotiate 2 deals for the percentage they own,

Why would he want to sign?
Contract works both ways, club protects asset, player protects earnings, Could get serious injury,

Bit of an issue when the only way of asking is to be granted an audience in person with Madame and then jumping on a long haul flight to Pune before every transfer window to receive this cash.
If only there was an alternative.
I think Mowbray and Waggott may have honourable intentions with not acceding to the demands of expensive players but it really is no excuse. If they know what we have to work with it is foolish to pursue players outside this in the hope they significantly drop demands and then ending up with nobody,
Who’s to say agent a player agree, Then try luck at getting more money at advanced negotiation stage,

Could he be the man we stretch for, fee will be big for us. But his wage would fit our structure and not cause unrest in changing room

Stern message to agents we are dealing with! They would of done own homework at what clubs can pay, Now they know we won’t have our pants pulled down again,Filters out most time wasters

Good player but obviously done something very wrong for them to release him like that, he’s deleted his Instagram as well, got to be a police issue or drug test or worse
Looks that way! No comment

How many people actually think we'd finish in the Top 6 even if we did sign back Tosin and Cunningham for CB and LB? I don't think we would. If we can finish 14th without spending a ton, or finish 8th whilst spending a ton, I know what I'd prefer...
Agreed, I think get this season out the way and we will have some serious decisions to make, A big IF certain players perform this season will determine how our next few seasons will go
